6 Months of work and finally its live thank you all for waiting! Edit: there is also a really dope steam written guide for cenobite so if you also want to check that out you can read it here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3016471787 Also forgot to get it in the guide because it looks like we accidentally forgot to re add the clip but if you down a player in the exit area while any chains are connected to them the exit becomes blocked for 5 seconds
As a p60 pinhead main i really appreciate the amount of work, passion, and dedication to this project to help people play him or aspiring players that look up to you like myself. It was worth every second and I learned more about him than ever and I learned stuff I didn't know I could learn. Again, huge props to you and your editor for working your asses off to make this even though you're both in college. 😊
Man, I feel like I should thank you. As a console gamer, it took me a long time to adapt and become a main Pinhead. Nowadays I was quite rusty and no longer felt pleasure playing with him. You gave it back to me. With your tips, I feel much safer using the chains, without saying that I have improved a lot in getting them right. With your explanation, I was able to put my experience into practice and I'm great at finding the box or the survivor with it. Your perk tips and add-ons are really good. Thanks.
You my friends have definitely paved the way for a lot of people to realize the potential domination pinhead can enact in the trials, really well done and can’t wait to execute some of the tips in the vid in my games😊!
To put some numbers behind your section on Box Logic, the way that the game spawns the box involves taking every eligible spawnpoint map-wide, and giving it a value of 0. Then, any of those spawnpoints that are within 16m of a survivor have 20,000 subtracted from that particular spawn position's value. Then, any spawn position within 40m of The Cenobite has 40,000 removed fron their spawn value. The game then looks at the spawnpoint(s) with the highest value (which will be zero outside of some astronomically rare circumstances, if they're even possible at all), and picks a random spot from that list like you mentioned. But, like you said, you don't need to know those specific details to use box logic effectively
Yea I know about the values but I avoided them because I know it would just confused the hell out of people so instead used graphics to explain that aspect but in way that didn’t need the numbers involved
Thanks for the awesome and comprehensive guide. Will have to rewatch it multiple times to fully absorb all the material. You and your editor did an amazing job, and I'm grateful to have such a high quality guide to learn from!
This guide is actually amazing. I had some good games with pinhead, but now I realize how many mistakes I made. This killer is almost op in right hands
Started the game 2 days ago because of him (i wanted to CAME, which i did as i already have 26hours, on him for the most part ) and i'm really happy to find your guide, can't wait to absorb every information i will find in it!
I love Pinhead, but lately I've been quite bad with him. This video has shown me that I've been using the chain completely wrong! Awesome guide. Since watching this I've gotten a few wins!
FINALLY!!!! Thank you so much, Reaper. You are very didactic. I've been wanting to buy Pinhead for a while but was really insecure because he always felt so complicated when I watched you play. Now I am definitely buying him! Again, thank you so much!!!
I liked and subscribed during the opening Marvel Snap ad specifically from your pinned comment. Anyone who puts that kind of dedication into content deserves support 🙏🏻
Just picked up Pinhead today, played around 5 games and he feels sort of refreshing from other killers, if that makes sense. Very fun killer and this guide is very useful, thank you! Good luck on your future endeavours.
hey field I fianlly took the time to watch this guide and im surprise to see friends till the end in the C tier. Im experimenting builds with pinhead and I think this perk is a easy A or even S tier. It can interrupt someone from doing the box, reveal the aura of someone going for it and even sometimes get a insta down with the help of your chains. + the effect of almost guarantee you a 4k if you already have a 3k but that's on every killer with this perk
I put in C tier because as long as bbq exists it will degrade the value of friends, and as for the scream that is completely RNG if that situation comes around only a 33% chance and gives less info then bbq does. I see what you mean though but personally bbq is just a better option. Maybe I’ll feel differently about it over time
fantastic guide Reaper, going to save it in my Dead by Daylight playlist. I didn't know the first chain was so important, going to apply these strats when I play Pinhead. Some of the builds also seem fun, going to give them a try, great stuff as always.
Thank you for all the tips. I'm a Ghostface Main but I started learning Pinhead over Blood Moon and I love him! Enough to make him a permanent main! My trouble is I play on controller, and I keep having issues on chain spawns and aiming. I'm sure with practice I will get there, but it's a very different game than Ghostface is and it's been tougher for me to adapt. I love playing this character though, and your guide has really helped me think more about when and where I place gates, working on my muscle memory, and slowly getting as good at the Cenobite as I feel I am at Ghostface. I hope to be nearly as good at him as you are someday, you really are inspiring in the same way SpookyLoopz and King Ping were o me when I was learning Ghostface. I'll definitely be trying out more of these tips!
@@ThePhantomSafetyPin that’s awesome man, welcome aboard! And just keep practicing I respect all my fellow controller pinhead players cause I can’t play him on anything other then mouse and keyboard my muscle memory is hardened now 💀
@@fieldagentreaper Thanks for the response. I am so rusty, I dropped him for a few months after Blood Moon and need to get the muscle memory back. I'll get there though. I appreciate the kind encouragement.
Great job man onestly tho you took your time and used it wisely I was here for some of the games (probably) but really good job if you keep this pace up you’ll get a lot of subscribers and supporters love your stuff man. Btw I’m on my alt I’m Inkedlawyer ❤( I was here for a lot of the games keep it up ❤)
I started playing him yesterday simply because of his design and animation with the chains when doing a lunge or basic hit, then I figured out his abilities a bit and I’ve been having a blast playing him so far. He’s definitely become my favorite killer so far.
W video reaper thank you for making this video I play on console with pinhead I'm going to get good with pinhead I'm up for the challenge my pinhead is almost p30
very explanatory video. thanks for bringing your knowlegde to us, and i wish i could watch more your streams, it seems you live on the other side of the world though by the time you stream. but anyway, i really was waiting for this pinhead information. Thanks buddy.
I have ran into an amazing issue, the issue being that: i get the box logic, and most of the time i go to the correct spot for where it is, but i cant fucking see the damn box (i know its correct because i eventually find it when survivors run it down to grab it next to me)
that was the goal! I hope people will give him a second chance since not many people play him these days and try and get good with him, also nice to see you here choy :D
Hi, Im a longtime Hellraiser fan, and Ive played a total of two games as Pinhead so far - I was delaying playing him until I had some more appropriate perks. My first game was on Chaos Shuffle, I used the Iri Lament and I got a 3k while I was still learning the ropes, he felt super fun to play. My second game was against more experienced players (and as an Xbox player I had overtuned my sensitivity and was having a hard time adjusting). I got several hooks but no kills, one guy was doing the box the whole game. I most definitely made some misplays, but I noticed as I teleported to the guy with the box, it didn’t feel like he had been held in place for 3 seconds. He was already a good bit of distance away while still being visible. I was confused on how he could get so much space between us before I even finished teleporting. I wasn’t able to find the box a single time 😅 I’ll probably be reviewing this a lot to help polish my mistakes while I learn to handle Pinhead. Thanks for the comprehensive guide! Edit: which of those builds (using lethal) would you say is best for a beginner to the killer?
@@fieldagentreaper By Brutal you mean Brutal Strength right? Sorry to bother, just wanted to be clear. Is interacting faster via the perk that quintessential to playing Pinhead? Or is it more a training wheel perk?
yes yes, and I wouldnt call them trainingwheel perks as they have value even when experienced but you may find that when you miss your m2 a bit frustrating, so if you have a perk to help you chew through pallets a bit faster it can help in the learning process
Hello hello, I am so happy ! I have learned some things but there are things I completely didn’t know ! Thanks for making the guide and Fox for editing and helping in custom game for demonstration. I have some questions tho : 1. I don’t think I understood the breaking chain thing, I am sick so that’s prob why. So, if you break yourself the chains off a survivor, the AI will spawn the amount of chains that you broke on the survivor ? 2. I need help with the killer instinct gateway placement, I practice a lot but I still either place it too far from the survivor or too close, I practice but it looks like nothing is improving. 3. I have played against good swf teams, one team were old comp players but anyway. Had 0k and like 8 hooks ? They were running crazy builds, do you think that just pain res can literally destroy the swf ? (With chain hunt ofc) 4. Is stbfl or brutal strength better ? I use brutal because I never get value from stbfl, I played 4 games and mostly got no value (I paired with brutal rapidity thing). 5. Last thing for the viewers that you forgot to mention is, whenever you gotta press space, you should always spam it and do it as hard as possible. 🌝 Thanks for the guide again, thanks to you and Fox for the guide !! Hopefully it isn’t so long, hopefully you can answer. Thanks again for the guide and hopefully we will see more recent videos on RU-vid, love you and Fox !! ❤️ P.S. : we shouldn’t forget the iconic line : ”you’re weird reaper, you’re weird dude, what do you mean ?”
Thats a lot of questions 😅 1. Yes 2. It’s a muscle memory thing that comes with practice I still mess it up sometimes there is no real answer other then practice 3. It can but it depends on the map, if you are actually getting a good team then you will need more slowdowns but in many cases it is not needed 4. Save is bugged right now so brutal and when it’s fixed save is better 5. No comment Glad you enjoyed it and it could be informative. And yes fox did a wonderful job
First! . . . Jokes aside. This was really fun to work on, although there were some dreadful moments (especially when we couldnt record footage cuz the actual interaction is bugged). I sadly did not have all the time of the world to make the video in the visual clarity that I want. But the most important part (The Power) was where my most effort went. I hope you like the video :D (PS: Don't abuse the Facecamping build. I am keeping an eye on you. Yes you. I know what you want to do. At least be a man and don't do it in Anon mode.)
I play dbd mobile and everything he said applies there as well, the flicking is different in mobile but is possible by prematurely swiping while in camera movement towards chain and when u control the chain it will instantly register the swipe u did
Oh man it’s been a few years, it was on some site that sold a couple of the dbd sweaters, not official but still great versions of them I can’t remember the name tho 😭
@@fieldagentreaper so that means that I don't have to worry about my Devour Hope getting cleansed when a chain hunt is active, gotcha! Tysm Reaper and keep up the great work, love watching ur vids! Ur the Pinhead goat
Could you explain the different play style while running the Chatters Tooth add on you alluded to in the add on section? I’m taking my first baby steps into learning box logic, and that add on has been my training wheels. Would love to know how to use it more efficiently
So there are 2 types of builds, totem defence and stealth. I did a RU-vid video on the stealth pinhead build or a version of it I have a newer version now but stealth pinhead with chatter tooth is strong and using chatterers tooth to defend a totem such as devour is also quite good, might make a video on that in the future but otz a few months ago did this just look up pinhead chatterer tooth and look for the video where he is playing with devoid hope.
@@fieldagentreaper that makes total sense! While experimenting a couple nights ago with my friend group, I tried a hex build I learned from a Doctor video on Pinhead and 4ked. I think it was something like: Pentimento Face the Darkness Huntress Lullaby Plaything With the Chatters add on and I think I was trying the other tooth add on, the red one that makes my M2 deal damage. But it felt butter smooth and now I know why lol I lucked into playing my add on correctly
Wow I play on low graphics because I thought it would be easier to spot the box with less grass and stuff on the ground. We always get new things to learn Do you know in the game files which category I should put on 4 to make it easier to see?
I love Pinhead and I think he's really fun. The only big issue I have is I play on the max FOV and when I go to use my chain it changes the POV especially when I send my chain out and it makes me feel nauseous
I think sloppy is even worse now because I'm pretty sure chain hunt no longer prevents healing, only your M2/gateway. I think it was added in the same patch where chain hunt no longer prevents the survivor of solving the box
@@foxtheunicorn So now the chain hunt works against healing survivors if you use sloppy? I probably tested if just a few days before the patch then, cause it wasn’t a long time ago
Just more those for the video, they aren’t exact as there are 2 many spawns there could be hundreds per map. It’s something you will learn as you play pinhead by just paying attention to where you find the box on the floor.
@@fieldagentreaper Ah I see. I main him and it is mostly intuitive... but I wasn't ever sure how many spawn locations there actually were or if it was possible to keep in mind like totem spawns. Like I've heard it can spawn virtually anywhere but has a lower chance for specific tiles(?) Is that just in relation to the distance from Pinhead and survivors or is it actually that certain tiles are less likely to spawn it no matter what?
@@universe1225 as far as we are aware each tile has a couple of locations where the box can spawn (or none at all). An example for this is edgemap tiles where the box cant spawn but on swamp the box can spawn edgemap. Every spot gets assigned a score based on how many circles are overlapping it. then it will chose the one that has the highest score (or randomly decide between em if they have the same score). so if one tile has 3 spawns it should have a higher chance of spawning the box than the tile next to it. but this is highly speculative as we cant really look into the game code :)
just started playing dead by daylight and pinhead is the killer im most interested in playing so thanks the main thing I am having difficulty with is getting the controls for his special ability down I play on ps5 and it feels weird because instinctually I think the moment you let go of l2 should be the moment the chain is launched but you have to let go then press r2 to launch it which is super weird to me I think I will get used to it in time but any tips would be helpful also the flight controls on the chain itself are kinda disorienting again any tips are appreciated
It is something to get used to but it’s better that way because sometimes you don’t want to send the chain instantly, the best thing to do (it’s not perfect but it’s a start) is make a bot lobby give everyone else no mither and just run around downing the bots and not picking them up. Bots have weird pathing but it’s a good way to start to develop the proper muscle memory and then you can start doing it in actual games
Just tried that and it didn’t work out well I couldn’t hit a bot for the life of me when I’ve been able to do it to real players for a while I tried other killers on bots and again couldn’t hit any of them is this a skill issue or are the bots just that advanced because usually when playing online matches I could get 3 kills but against the bots 1 is the max even with perks
@@TheSleepingWendigo still bad, just because a perk is nice in one very specific build doesn’t make the perk good it just makes it good in the build being used, not on the killer. Not to mention weave is getting nerfed so even that is going to be meh now
I think that's not a bug just a shit nerf. It's the same with the trickster, deathslinger, nemesis etc : any power, damaging or not, make you lose stacks now. Ofc you do'nt want to run that on the trickster but you technically lose all your stacks every time you throw knifes
@@fieldagentreaper On the wiki it says "whenever you hit your obsession" for save the best for last but remember me says "whenever the obsession loses a health state. There is a difference even tho I think it's stupid and should be when losing an health state aswel health state. And the wiki says it's a nerf too : "Nerf " now causes the perk to lose tokens on special attacks on the obsession as well, making it now impossible to by-pass the penalty on M2 killers" I think they should just put "when losing a health state" because now the perk is completely worthless to run on killers with non damaging power, or power take require several hit like nemesis, deathslinger etc
