Phil, thank you! I keep this playing looped at the tables and it helps tremendously. That said, I once went on a 22 session win streak, and your advice regarding how it is possible to go on a bigger losing streak than you ever imagined really hits home..... somewhere out there I know there's a 23 session losing streak, even if I play like a beast. I been playing alot lately, and I usually raise or fold pre.. but ive started limping pockets pairs from earlier positions.. 2's-6's. U think its best to fold those? Or just raise and if U get 3 bet go set mining and if u brick just fold? What u think

Phil, i normally have good months, month on month. But when i heard you say you will run as bad as you could ever imagine, i didn't think that would be the start of mine. Bear in mind im playing since 2007 online. And generally, it's been like steady upward graphs for me and some dips under trend but retaking the highs. Your comment has jinxed me beyond belief 😂. I know the drill, dont worry. But as for the actual comments, meh, aint that the truth. "OMG" Small stakes player here (purgatory grinder)

In our weekly home tourney, usually 17--25 players, we chop top two with 3rd getting double their buy-in back. to save time. I was doing okay there, then I made two adjustments. I quit bluffing, and I stopped slow playing my big hands. Someone always calls. I chopped 5 of the next 6 weeks and I think I was 8/12 at one point. Only person I told about my change was my wife. She has chopped twice as well. It works, and I will keep using it until it doesn't.

I've actually noticed the opposite. At low stakes, particularly 1/3, them calling with 5 people behind is pretty much the same as them calling to close the action. At 30bb+ minimum ($100 min at 1/3), they like calling just about any two cards, praying for trips or 2 pair. I like to raise often to get them to fold. They usually won't pay $20 for what they were hoping to get for $3

Regarding the first comment about only playing Aces if there are no blinds, that’s not how things would work in real life. While it’s true you could make money with 100% certainty, only losing when your Aces get cracked, no one in real life would fold 200 hands to wait for Aces because that would be incredibly boring and people value their time. If you only played super tight in a no blind/ante game, you could 100% make money, but it would be unbearably boring. So assuming the states were small enough, I’m guessing the game wouldn’t play all that differently (for low stakes, which is what this comment was about). Of course, Phil’s comment is 100% mathematically correct, but I think in real life, in low stakes games (super low, where the money lost is inconsequential), the game would play similarly with no blinds to go after, even though mathematically speaking such a game should result in no action.

I think that you are wrong here Phil; if no blinds, playing only AA's is not the only play nor the best play. If you only play AA's then you become exploitable. In position, I can play AA's too and balance it with some suited connectors and exploit you. Of course, I'm not gonna play every suited connectors, they will be very few too.
@kevinshen
@kevinshen 13 дней назад
This is just wrong. Whenever you raise with suited connectors and I don’t have AA I fold and I win in EV space. Therefore your strategy is -EV
@StrongwillGameTheory
@StrongwillGameTheory 13 дней назад
@@kevinshen I think you are under the assumption that I'm opening all suited connectors. I'm not, I'm opening at an extremely low frequency, just balancing it with range of AA's. I'm not looking to win money preflop, but rather post flop where I can bluff you or stack you two pair, flush or straight. And when I'm opening, I'll open only in position so that I can realize my equity. Assuming that it's a regular opening size and no open shoving. Or it's a pot limit hold-em. It's counter-intuitive, but think about it.
@StrongwillGameTheory
@StrongwillGameTheory 13 дней назад
