Here is the 6-month journey transforming the Hobbyking RC Yak-11 into Czech Mate all in one place. While it wasn't technically a continuous 6 months of work (there was a move in the middle of it), this project was quite the undertaking and the final result, both in looks and flying, made it absolutely worth it!
This DIY RC Czech Mate transformation video shows the whole process from start to finish and wraps up with the maiden flight. I hope you enjoyed following along on the project and feel free to leave any questions or comments below! #scalemodel #rcplane #racer

I've run out of things to say about this beautiful model. You make some the of best planes on RU-vid. I hope that this gets seen by them and they reply with something positive about it.

In my experience kitbashing foamies THE most important tool of all is without a doubt the straight edge sanding tool - the less straight edge sander 2nd and then the spackle/filler. Beautifully done, but then what did we expect

I've done tons of mods to wood planes and there their time consuming but foam is a new world that I'm still learning. I've done a crome plane in the past and had to add colors to it because in a blue sky it would disappear on me blending in with the sky
@Thercgeek
@Thercgeek Год назад
Yeah, silver is not great in a blue sky.

in case you don't know, a correctly spec'd E prop is mostly silent. and, this prop is making more noise, than it should be.

I understand, but I do like the sound from the higher rpm it’s spinning and I’m quite happy with the performance.

Would love to know before and after weights.
@Thercgeek
@Thercgeek Год назад
Honestly, I rarely weigh the models because with every refinish I’ve done like this, the models fly so much nicer. In this case I actually had to add 8oz of weight to the nose to get the cg back where it needed to be which was in addition to all of the work that was done to it. The model didn’t notice the difference.
