I like how she was still able to make a room that worked for her and she didn’t spend a ton of money to buy new furniture she still kept a lot of what she had and she included some new things like the arm chair and the cart but she made it more functional and it works for her and I really like that because a lot of times in especially Pinterest rooms and RU-vid rooms and it just makes me wonder like what could you have done to your own which is a place we spend a lot of time and she just redid her room in a way that works for her which I think teaches people will be good lesson that you have to take practicality over aesthetic looking things
americans always have exactly one kind of hanger. in britain, we have whatever hangers come home with us when we buy clothes, meaning none of our hangers are the same
I love how you completely made-over (is that a real word? Past tense of a makeover?) your room without buying a whole bunch of new furniture except the armchair and the cart! Quite inspiring and I think I may try to makeover my room because I know my room needs it...
the light-colored carpet and walls + the wooden furniture is an aesthetic in itself. it looks like a lot of nice cream tones + nature aesthetic. add some more plants (fake or real) and boom instagram worthy room after all
your personality is so refreshing! on youtube i see toomany fake and overly peppy personalities but i can tell you are being genuine. i can also appreciate how you chose to maintain functionality instead of just being aesthetic for more views. keep it up !
Hi! I just wanted to ask if you put some stones on the bottom of the pot, when you replanted it! It really helps with drainage so your plants roots do not become soggy and rot. Please do that the next time you repot a plant because it may save your plants life!
Actually it’s better not to rocks on the bottom as it doesn’t really do anything for drainage and can block oxygen flow from the drainage hole but if you want to weigh your plant down so the wind doesn’t knock it down do it
@@hanalubin1604 Isn't it better to do it for cactus though ? I'm asking because I should repot mine and I hear that putting little rocks in the soil (is that the right word ? 😭) is better for them but idk :(
I like how you know you aren't that organized but still create a space that's functional. I'm productive but my creativity tends to lean on to a messy part. I try to declutter a lot of things and pursue minimalism with my mind set that I prefer a productive space then aesthetic.
i love this! my mom and i recently redid my room too because i’ll probably be staying home for my first year of college too so we did a lot of hunting on craigslist, reused pieces, added simple things like plants and such, and painted the walls! there’s so many ways to upcycle your space and i think this encompasses it really well!
if you are interested in making the space a little easier to maneuver in, i suggest rearranging the book shelves to create an L-shape rather than the straight wall they currently create. this will still allow the division of space you desire while keeping the shelves from sticking out into the middle of the room as much. i love the redecoration though, the string lights especially!
to separate the space further, you could add a gauzy semi-sheer curtain on a tension rod going across the room, behind the bookcases! then the constellation poster could go in the wall behind your bed.
Oh gosh, at 6:57 you unlocked a memory for me. I used to despise those AP History class DBQ's. We used to do them almost every day of the last 4 months of my junior year. I had two classes that did them at once. *goosebump shivers.* I'm entering my 3rd year of college so I've completely forgotten about those.
i love all the bestdressed references because back when i was super into fashion, ashley’s channel was my favourite. You’ve kind of taken her spot at my favourite aesthetic bingeable channel to align with my new interests :)
you NEED to start a podcast Jasmine! Whenever I watch you videos, I feel so relaxed and it inspires me to get up and do some work! I think that if you wanted to, you would be an amazing podcaster!
i loved this video, it was so fun to watch! jasmine, thank you so much for your videos. i've never commented before but i've been watching your channel for awhile and it has been a huge inspiration for me to do well in school and overall be more productive. and my notes wouldn't be as nice had i not been motivated by you!!
total respect and love for your intentions and efforts! you made perfect sense when you outlined your reasons for NEEDING a change-up of a perfectlt functioning room. I am designer for 20 years, and one of the oldest design principle is Form Follows Function. how a space, design, product looks should be informed and determined by its function and use. good job!
That sort of reading nook with the armchair and the bookshelf is my fave part. Hermione's wand and the chocolate frog complete my dream reading nook 😍😍😍
Late last year I re-did my room and now it is a modern aesthetic and i love it soo much :). Earlier this month i also redid my sister’s room to a boho aesthetic
I love how this new floor plan is actually more practical for you instead of having the sole purpose of being "aesthetic". You're such an inspiration, good luck with UCLA online classes the upcoming school year! - something scarlett
Jasmine, your room transformation is too cute. When you think about it, you kind of made it into your own at-home-dorm-room lol. Great job. Oh Congrats on your acceptance to UCLA!!!! Wishing you all the best. I love the little study/lounging nook near the window and study desk you created. So, just a thought, to help you with all of that beautiful sunshine coming through your windows early in the mornings, purchased yourself some 'blackout' curtains. Walmart and Amazon sell them and they come in different colors. Not too sure how much they cost per panel and rods.
I love your new look! So functional! I do have a small tip for the staircase bookshelf - how about wrapping it up with white wallpaper? Just so it’s more coordinated with your whole room and it makes it look like it’s a wall more than a bookshelf 😊
Im in the same situation quite much but also I think reorganizing and redecorating will get me out of this depressive rut quarantine has kind of put me in. thank you for your video
I love this so much! I have the exact same feeling towards my room (I have 1 year left before University - feel like I need a change to feel more ready for change & have a lot more functional things which I'm okay with keeping), I have the same sized room as you, and how realistic this is.. gives me more motivation. Thank you!
studyquill I honestly love the feature when I’m watching longer videos or some billet journal videos I can kind of “peek” ahead and see what’s happening in the video. 😅
hiii, I helped my parents repot some of their plants and you are supposed to loosen the roots before putting it in another pot with more soil so that the roots can spread out more to get their water 😊 love the outcome of the room 💜
Hi! I first found your videos right before starting high school and I was so happy to have found another rising freshman to get tips from lol. Here we are four years later and although I didn’t keep up with you as much as I would’ve liked, I’m really happy to have found you again as school starts under these crazy circumstances 😊
I love that you mentioned Ashley from @bestdressed! I immediately thought of her when I saw even your before design, but especially after the makeover. You also have a similar tone/sense of humor. I like it!
I LOVE how you made the most of what you had and didn’t just copy everyone else on the internet with a pastel and rose gold room!! I love how yours is so different and cosy 💞💞💞
I was laughing so hard with the intro because the reason I'm watching this in the first place is because I'm doing the EXACT same thing for the EXACT same reason. love from Belgium
I feel like if you spray painted the containers on the step shelf one uniform colour like white I feel like that would bring it all together without buying brand new containers.
Just bought the bird printer and hope I'll get the use of it! They're were on sale too! Have a Instax, but want to print stuff label and pics for bullet journal, thx for the discount:)
Thank you for not using a dispable towel for dusting! i also apriciate the well placed ad, it felt like a comercial block hahaalso i'm confused about the glasses. howcome they're the wrong perscription? I'm also amazed at the amount of holes you're allowed to make in your cieling.
I love this! If you do one again I suggest maybe trying a loft bed I have had a double loft from ikea for ages and I love it. It frees up so much room and I have an amazing desk setup. Just an idea
Hey studyquill!! Since you have a new room, I recommend using rubber bands for like wires and also for that storage unit for like things in your desk like you tissues pens mildliners and other product and if your planning to have a haul, can i kindly ask for like you showing us to organizing your statuonery. Thanks and have a happy life in UNI
Her videos are really relaxing to watch and they are so aesthetically pleasing....her room is soo pretty... and I can relate to taping scotch tape to the wall :p
First: the layout is smart, separating your work & play area like that, especially if you're attending university online in the Fall, as will most likely be the case . Second: woooooooooooooooo! stars! ...I'm an astrophysics major. :) Third: cute, but also practical decorating! ;) Just a head's up, a lot of universities that are going back to physical classes this fall are also planning to revert to online after Thanksgiving Day (if need be).
I was quite happy when I saw the hp books in your bookshelf because I'm a Harry potter fan / potterhead Anyways That Room makeover is quite useful as all the room ideas you see are picture perfect and this was not so it was useful to see Thanks a lot 😁😁😁😁😃😃😃😁
Yess! Jasmine got the holy grail of yt sponsorships - Squarespace. You know you’ve made it when you get sponsored by them . Btw, I have a study / stationery yt channel , it would be great if you could check it out
Im an extremely clumsy person and while i was watching the video, i was noticing all the places where i would trip at, the table by the door i would most likely hit my hips at, the hanging plants that i will in some crazy way make them fall, and the ukulele where i would most likely hang up wrongly after i use it and it would fall and break:) i cant even light a candle in my room because one time i dropped the candle and almost set my table on fire.
I’m so sorry if you said where it was from in this video but where did you get your bed frame from? I’m looking for storage beds to save space and yours looks perfect!
This has given me so many ideas for my new room in September when I go back to university .... I love it 😍🤩 I love hoovering the space from where furniture piece use to sit 😊
