Excellent 😊 What a great quiz. I learnt some stuff. I surprised myself with the score 😊 Since I don’t own a mark 6 I got that particular question wrong 😅
202.5 for me. I gave myself 7.5 for the reed question as I got Arno Donax before the choices came up, 2.5 for the Donax bit. I thought Pete Christlieb did the Steely Dan solo or was that another track? Thanks that was a fun quiz.
For the whole quizz I have 170 points. Do I get a bonus for knowing the line 'Forgive me Charlie Parker wherever you are?' Nice quiz to start the Sunday. Thank you.
round 1: 55 points, three 10pts, 2 misses (my blind choice was among the options both times and made me doubt since technically I was in the running for the 10 pts) round 2: 45 with three 10 points, 4 misses, not even close on some misses. round 3: 80 with six 10 points, didn't miss any question, never watched the muppets but guessed it. I blanked on arundo donax despite knowing it. 180 isn't bad I guess.
You mean Baker Street is in Glasgow? Maybe there it but its definitely about London's Baker Street. He wrote the song while in the pub opposite the station The Globe. Its a bit of a stretch to think he's in a pub on the corner of Baker Street, with a big London Transport sign outside saying Baker Street and whats on his mind is Glasgow! Also according to a BBC Radio Soul Music program about it, they played a demo he made which included the famous Sax intro phrase but played by Rafferty on guitar, which means Raph wasn't the composer of it but Raf was. Not that I'm dissing Raph, the song wouldn't have had the impact without that sax intro. Raph never liked it, he said it just sounded out of tune. Bit dissapointed you didn't ask the questions I knew the answers to........! Sax soloist on Paul Simon and Billy Joel's records, Sax soloist on Beatles' Lady Madonna....? etc. Still theres always next time, make it an annual event!
