Thanks, i started yesterday and still try to figure out everything. I didn't knew that non-starter cows give less milk, so now i need to rethink my early game investment strategy.
Looking forward to the kid video! Raising a kid stressed me out so much when I played the original lol. I kept second guessing myself. Something I'd like to see is a guide to what the marriage candidates are like after marriage. I couldn't even find anything saying what color bedspread each spouse brings with them. This would of course take a long time to do with all the spouses, but maybe shorter videos on individual spouses? I would be be grateful. Like, listen, I'm an adult now! It's not just about who I find appealing, but who I can share a life with! Like, how well suited are they for the life I can give them? Celia will be overjoyed, but wouldn't Lumina have trouble adjusting? Does Rock step up at all, with anything? I want to know! 😭
i can tell you Matthew brings a nice minty green bedspread lmao & that’s all i know. he seems very sweet after marriage but i am /just/ starting year 2/second chapter. so fun tho
I just came across your videos and they are so helpful! Thank you so much! You have saved me lots of time and guess work with the cows. So excited for the children guide video!
This is perfect, I was coming up to the end of my first year wondering if I should buy a star bull to try and breed it with my normal/brown cow to try & get a star cow. I was looking all over for what the odds would be on the breeding, and today this video pops up. Now I think I'm gonna save scum a little and save myself a bit of cash! As a side note, it might be kind of cool to have a guide for the yearly forage-able items and their locations? Having mushrooms and wild herbs is super important to cooking after all.
That's because it's the best lazy way to make money! Cows definitely make you a bit more money, but in terms of effort to income? Sheep win big time, haha.
@@elithegaymer I'm definitely on your side lol I will say though, this remake makes farming/ranching a lot easier to manage timewise so I don't feel nearly as stressed out as the first version.
i play this game since the PS2 version, and im just started this game about 12 hours in, ongoing to winter. still a lot stuff i dont know like this stuff. thanks mate! Tips : Cook normal milk to milk soup, the price is 150 (normal milk price is about 100 i think)
I really like this video! I feel the information is presented in a lovely teaching style where things are brought back to the front enough time that someone can really remember them :3 it’s like being in a little SoS:AWL classroom, hehe. I came to the same conclusion about the milk processing room! Since you can buy a star cow from year one and a star cow will pay herself off relatively quickly, I think there’s just no reason to ever buy the milk processing room for the sake of profits. ((I know a lot of people save up for a Star Bull and then breed a Star Cow from their starter cow, but just saving up the extra 25k ends up being *ludicrously* more profitable and not hard to do with sheep wool)). I probably won’t buy the milk processing room until I want the goddess tools, since one of those requests want SS butter.
It’s funny that you say that! I was a teacher for ten years. Sometimes when I am making a RU-vid video I get that same feeling I did as when I would turn on my teaching mode in the classroom, haha.
there a famous glitch(at this point i don't know if it's glitch or it's actually features) of easy s quality tree in the past game and somehow it's still exist in the remake( i just try it yesterday, after i finally reach year 2), mix b tree seed(make sure it's in first slot) and a s quality seed(whatever anything work as long is S quality, the most easy way is mix a seed with up quality flower) and vinnie will spit out S quality version of the tree seed. usually you can't mix a tree seed with flower, so the only way is using fertilizer, but it's take to long and to many fertilizer. Also it's don't need to be a seed the crops works too. if you already have seed maker getting many s seed tree is easy. oh yeah it's work to with tree that already mixed(ex. grorange) too as long its in first slot. And remember there a very very small chance it failed. i'm playing switch version(i advice save before you try this trick) and sorry this really out of video topic
My affection levels seem to be stuck for my animals. I’ve been petting, brushing, milking, and talking twice a day but the affection won’t go up anymore.
@@winter2780 I just kept doing the same thing and eventually they started going up. Seems like it takes a lot more to move up at the higher levels of affection.
Thank you so much for this video. It helps a ton. If you figured out the mechanic for what causes failed crop mixes that do blend sometimes with Vinnie could you do a video about that? I know a video for all the different generation blends would be too long and waaay too much to ask since there are a lot and it is hard to figure out exactly how many there are. Just making the blending failures happen less often would be awesome to know. I love your videos, by the way. They are so helpful and enjoyable
Haha, first, your cow will get visibly dirty if you don’t brush it. Second, it’s health will go down if it’s not fed twice a day or it’s left in the rain.
This was SO helpful. I've been looking everywhere for this cheese/butter info Question for you. Should I buy the barn expansion first or the processing room first?
Some quick tips I feel go with this: When you first start, you should cook your milk into Milky Soup. B quality milk only sells for 100, but Milky Soup sells for 150. Since I'm talking about the start of the game, you don't yet have access to the processing shed or better quality yet. As a double benefit, Milky Soup is good for eating as well, and cooking anything will improve your cooking level for later years to eventually get better stuff. I haven't tested this myself, but I saw somewhere that giving Mama's Milk to a calf actually raises its friendship faster. So it's to help get a headstart on that so you can get better quality milk from them faster. Since it was mentioned about how breeding works, this gives a useful option early on. Since bulls cost less, buy a Star Bull and breed your other cows with it. You should be able to save scum to ensure it will produce a Star Cow, letting you get one cheaper. 25,000 for the Bull, and 3,500 for the breeding (assuming you don't wait for it to naturally happen), instead of 50,000 for the Cow. It will take some time, though, so it's a bit of a trade off. However, once you have that Bull, you can repeat the process until you have all of the Star Cows you want, then sell the Bull, or keep it to breed and sell cows for additional profit.
No, I used save and reload in my game RIGHT before my cow's birth to alter the breed and gender. So basically it is decided the moment in the event where the baby is born. (I've tried out this trick thrice already).
@@eilz1495 does this happen the first thing in the morning? That’d mean i could just reload to the previous night to get the gender and breed i want, right?
Which animal is better to keep on the farm to make alot of cash quickly? The cow or the sheep? I have a regular cow & marble cow with 2 sheep. Would like to upgrade the barn house for more cows & sheep. Been going to the mine each day to dig up fossils, diamonds etc. 🤷♀️✌️
A cow is a LOT more work, as you have to milk it twice a day… however they make you more money than sheep. Sheep are great if you are lazy/don’t want to focus too much on the animals, but cows will definitely net you more money if you are willing to put the work in. This is true before you get the milk processing room and even more true after.
Thanks for taking the time away from the game to watch and comment, haha. I learned a lot of things as I was making this video and was very excited to share.
The grass will spread, but don’t let your cows eat it all, haha. You should put down the fertilizer you get in the beginning down right away so you have enough grass to start spreading. You might still need a bit more fertilizer. Once it starts spreading though it keeps going and going, haha.
@@kentvivo4854 you won’t have to use fertilizer forever. If you buy 10 fertilizer on the first day and plant them all, you’ll probably never need to plant grass again
These guides have been so helpful fot me starting off. Subscribed! I was wondering if you or anyone else has any advice about sleeping. How necessary is it in this game? I've found that food seems to restore energy more than sleeping does, so I'm trying to mske sense of it all. Thanks!
So this is something I'd just like to know before I breed my cows, but how close to the birth will my cow still give milk? They're my main source of income with the milk soup in my first year.
When you say "talk to takakura and he'll breed the cows" is there something I'm missing? I have normal cow and star bull and all takakura wants to talk about is advice on random topics that I don't need help on lol. Do I need to look at the order from and order breeding?
I love all these guides before I start playing! I wonder if we'll get the guide book that Japan got. I sure hope so! (Edited to add question) How many cows total can you have?
@@elithegaymerAhh you replied before I could make my edit! Just in case you end up not seeing it I'll ask here as well. How many cows can you have? I feel like I'd want a female of each and then a male star cow.
Super helpful video you changed the order I was gonna do things in. Quick question, you can't seem to push individual animals outside the barn anymore? How can I get my horse outside on a rainy day without it going back in when I ring the bell? thanks
You can’t take out individual animals EXCEPT for the horse. Put all the animals in the barn and then use your whistle. Your horse will pop out of the barn, haha.
I’m doing my second playthrough in the NA version now and I’m trying to be a lot more efficient this time haha so this guide is appreciated. do you know if the type of cow is determined when they breed initially or when the cutscene plays? I might end up testing it myself but like you said the amount of time before the cow gives birth is kind of random so it might be hard for me to make a save before the birth.
UPDATE: I just tested this and yes, the cow’s type and gender is determined at the start of the cutscene, so you could definitely save scum just before the cow’s birth if you don’t get the one you want.!
I started this game just a few days ago and love it already! I remember as a kid I would play it on my dad’s GameCube so I’m glad to see a revamped version. I was wondering what your recommendation would be for how to utilize all of the barn space? Like how many normal, star, marble, and brown cows should I have? I want to get one of each. And how many sheep do you recommend? I was thinking 2 female cows from each type, then 1 male cow from each, and then 4 sheep but I’d love to hear your input!
so... just to clarify after speedrun reading comment... we don't need to breed em in order to get milk right? it's not like the old game where she stop giving milk if we not breed her aside from that, if we want to breed, but the barn is full, is it still possible? since we got no space for the calf or it automatically sold after the birth? thx for the nice video , keep it up man 🙂
Hi! I just found your channel. Are you going to make a video like this for the sheep? I'm having a hard time getting the "quality wool" for some reason, it's always golden.
Would breeding for profit make much sense? I keep getting male chickens and make 250g from them instead of selling the 150g fertilised egg, but a bull will take up space that a female that produces milk everyday would give which sounds like it'd be more than the amount you'd get from selling an adult cow you raised.
In spring year 1 you can turn your B rank milk, worth 100g into Milky Soup in the kitchen, by just cooking it, it'll be worth 150g each, as good as S Rank milk.
All I know is, there is a section in the strategy guide that says that your first cow is a bit special. Not sure if they are just saying that because the game actually treats it differently (slightly better chance for good RNG?) or if they’re just saying it’s “special” because it’s your first cow, haha.
I would love a chicken and bird guide…. Is it just me or do chickens lay their eggs at all times of the day? I tired to reset them by not collecting…. But they lay eggs at all times of the day and places…. And could you do a hybrid crop guide?
Kind of random, but do you think you could make a video on how to manage everything from year 2 onward? I feel like there’s not enough time to do everything beyond farming..
Hey eli may i request a video on the difference between fodder and fodder+ or at least a quick explanation of the difference between the two? I just heard another youtuber mention it and i dont know the difference since i havent stsrted playing yet
I think even tho it's necessary to grow grass for the animals it just makes the field look nicer to. I'm so excited to get this game sometime this week I've never played the switch before either might take me a hot minute to figure it out 😂. I'm torn between marry Cody or Matthew but most likely Cody I'm very artistic myself and want my child to have that creative side. I never wanted to marry rock he can be a hot mess at times lmao 🤣
@@elithegaymer thank you I'm definitely very excited for winds of anthos the idea being able to go to other villages is so cool. I will be friend all the villagers something I didn't do when I first played it back in 2004.
If I have any questions I'll definitely come into the comment section and ask you thank you for your content btw some videos I'll come back to if I need some help figuring some things out
I featured your question in my newest video! You need to build. the pond AND have two spaces in your coop before the event will trigger: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wq6VxhSVqps.html
@@elithegaymer that I know, but I'm trying to crossbreed a star cow with a regular cow... How? (also, APPRECIATE that you replied so soon. Honestly didn't expect it)
In year 1 I was investing in Star Bull (25k) for breeding 2 of my normal cows. U can save the game before the laboring scene happened , and reload it until u get a star cow. Now in early year 2 I already got 2 female star cow (50k/each) lol
I found a crop that looks like a donut and it costs like 1,000 g for one. I can't really rmb what crops to put together but it's the one that's made out of two hybrids.
@elithegaymer haha okay thank you! I'm just so used to the og model, I experienced my cow to stop producing after 40 days. do you think it's be more beneficial to buy a male or female cow if I wanted more special types on my farm? (I'm not really into just renting a bull)
That’s normal. A cow that just gave birth gets a boost to how many it gives you, so it gives 4 in your first Spring (3 because spring, +1 for recently giving birth). In summer, it drops to 2 at a time because 2 is the normal amount for summer and it has not given birth recently anymore so no bonus.
@@elithegaymer The diagram said 6 and 4 so i guess i'm a bit confused. how do you get the max number 6? 3 for spring, +2 for show window after birth and that's only 5?
@@STJebus It’s 6 per day, 3 at a time. If you cow has recently given birth, it’s +1 or +2 per milking, so the absolute most that you can get from one milking is 5 ( ten bottles of milk per day).
When do u milk to get milk twice a day. Mine only give me milk once a day. Everytime i try to milk more than once a day, they get mad and dont give any.
Hey, try to milk your cow first thing in morning and then wait until late afternoon/night for the second time. There has to be (about) 12 hours in between the milkings.
I bought a marble bull for free breeding, if its a male i'll wait untill thiley're fully grown and sell them, if it's a female i'll keep her for the milk. And hope it's a different kind of calf
I talk about it in this video. Basically, it just takes a long time of being consistently good to it. FAQ About SoS AWL - Tips & Feedback Based on Your Comments! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wq6VxhSVqps.html
Im kinda lost with money making on this game 🙃 I have 17k in autum of the first year... did you think it's worth to invest in a male star cow and try to breed it to get a female or its very difficult to get and not worth the time and money? time goes too fast and we have lots of things to do in one day like fishing... digging... foraging and gifts... animals...im almost at the second year and i didnt even got to watch all Rock cutscenes... Just one about the turtle
Your animal's gender is determined at birth and I haven't confirmed yet but I think it applies for breed too. So you can reload a save if your calf isn't born as a Female Star.
@@FlamingOcelot Yes, you think its worth the investment to buy a star cow and try this or its better to save the money and buy something bigger like 150k gold for the cheese/butter machine
B-Grade Star Milk sells for more than S-Grade Butter/Cheese. So in my opinion getting a Star Cow is a great early investment compared to the HUGE investment for the processing room that doesn't even pay out as well.
I featured your question in my newest video! She gives milk up until it she is put in the birthing area: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wq6VxhSVqps.html
I know its a cow video and I love the video. But how is no one talking about the gold wool for 6k. I got both my sheep to give gold wool by second time from buying super easy im about to have 12 sheep in here maken 72k every one round to easy. Only thing is they are annoying. And ill probably keep a cow for two for fun.
I did the math and while sheep are MUCH easier to raise, cows give you much more money. Even comparing a sheep to a normal cow, a sheep can only give you 6000 G every 5 days. That’s 1,200 per day. A maxed out normal cow can get you 6 x 275 = 1,650 a day, and it’s a steady income daily. But yeah, you can see my barn in this video… I have a few cows and a ton of sheep. Sheep are definitely better when it comes to reward for amount of effort.
@elithegaymer Actually ya I did the math too in my head and I said wait it might be close so im glad you did the math. And also I did notice all the sheep! also keep in mind the cow isnt always producing 6 milk ether tho so it depends too on how often you are pregnant.
I bought myself a Star Bull and I will bread it with my starting cow Hopefully it'll give me a Star Cow and any bulls once they're grown they should sell for a decent profit so it's pretty much a passive income in the fall and winter than during Spring and summer I wouldn't recommend breading the Cows just for the milk since those are the seasons it'll give its max amount of milk and buy that time you reach year two you should have money to buy a female star cow or you got lucky in the first year and got one through breading. Also, sheep are great for a huge income so In my opinion Star Cows and the Cow you start to keep its milk for processing for cooking/request you'll want to complete. then once you upgrade the barn I'd suggest buying sheep because their basic wool sells for $3,000 right off the back and possibly save a slot for a goat for any requests involving goat products.
It’s funny, but you aren’t even the only person I have watched talk about this game who has messed up with the sex of the animals. 😂 the other video also talked about chickens…😅
It’s the same regardless of if you make it into butter and cheese. You make a profit. FAQ About SoS AWL - Tips & Feedback Based on Your Comments! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wq6VxhSVqps.html
@elithegaymer I just wanted to seriously say thank you for making this video, I was having some trouble finding info on Google, and your video clarified and made it easily digestible.
