In this video, we compare the differences between dry brined and non-dry brined New York Strip steaks. Dry brining involves coating the steak with salt and letting it sit for a period of time to enhance the flavors and tenderness. Non dry-brined steaks, on the other hand, are simply seasoned with salt and pepper before cooking. #drybrinesteak #drybrinedsteak #reversesear

this confuses me a little, do you know if butchers already salt the meat before we get it ? When I dry brine (add salt myself) something just feels off

I’ve never had a butcher pre salt meat in my experiences. How much salt are you adding and how long are you letting it rest? Only thing I can think of that may make the meat seem off

Dry brine is the only way to do it.

Why didnt you add more salt? Feels like you can up that amount a bit, leaving you no need to hit the meat with salt in the end. Looks really good tho, Nice vid !

These weren’t the thickest strips so didn’t want to over brine. Which I’ve def done in the past! I like the diff acidity that sea salt gives at the end vs kosher. Just a personal preference. Thanks!!
