So far, i think koenigsegg have built the best "fastest/ controllable/ stylish Hypercar to date....Christian von koenigsegg/ Robert serwanski & Team....WELL DONE.....can i have one of your cars now???
This car is the best in the world. End of story. As a fan of Ferrari, I think this will destroy Laferrari and the P1 just like it annihilated the Veyron. Those of you who want to mention the Venom, don't. The agera is clearly an all-around super car not just one made to take down the veyron's top speed record
Matthew Wildgoose you were correct, they recently curb stomped all the veyrons previous world records lol, koenigsegg is officially the undisputed king of the roads.
Thank you Robert S for your effort and speech about this Swedish performance car. Watching this video really make me feel that everything is truly unique and genuine about the car brand, Koenigsegg. What is genuine is that you really test out everything to be perfect, that mean. In advance a driver will certainly have a car with maximum quality. Tack så mycket för videon!
Adam West it's close but I would say someone that gets to drive/rest ALL the hyper and supercars like being a presenter on top gear. Get to go on adventures in those cars too, sometimes shitty cars but often amazing cars lol
Michael seems a nice guy and I believe Christian's energy attracting people who suit him and then they became a team. Look at this guy, he's calm and tell the story with enthusiasm just like his boss.
This car is just so beautiful. Not just in just the visual prospect, but also in the passion that is put into it. These people love what they make, and I would give up everything just to be able to work on these cars. They're not some pretentious Bugatti, they are a soulful creation that are made for true drivers.
I love hearing Robert talk about the Agera. His passion for cars and love for the Agera R is intoxicating and contagious. "You must want to learn what is happening.." Keep on keepin' on Robert! You are such an inspiration!!
These Inside videos are my favorite. It's so good being able to see into the factory and processes and people of these godlike supercar makers, and realise they are all filled by really passionate and inspirational people who are also just down-to-earth humble dudes.
Brilliant move by Christian Von Koenigsegg to give Drive so much access to the Koenigsegg factory...The first time i seen a Koenigsegg ( digital creation ) was in the original x-box forza video game, now i see them for real on you tube all the time..Truly an awesome automobile
Meanwhile in Texas: Billy Bob Hennessey and Cletus Hennessey give that good 'ol 'Vette gearbox a damn good smacking with the hammer til them gears work.
this is such a fantastic series... It will be a sad day when the last episode comes out, as truly, this is some of the best web-produced material on the internet.
I am speechless! First time i saw this car i fell in love with this brand! And i simply can not come up with a word which would describe the beauty of the both engineering and styling of this car! It is beyond superb. Superlative product!
The people behind this video at Motor Trend need a raise. Beautiful shots, beautiful soundtrack. Even though the car featured is not all that intriguing to me, I enjoyed the video very much. Great job. The finale should have Chris Harris thrashing a Koenigsegg!
I love all of these videos, i hope you can make more series like this for other hypercars. It really gives a personality and beauty to these cars. I never was a fan of Koenigsegg until these videos came out
I love this series! And yes, this man has the best job. Ever. Koenigsegg is just outstanding in every way, the look and sound of the Agera put the Huayra to shame IMO... this is quite possibly my favorite supercar!
That test car driver, has got the job of a life time I fuzzing wish driving round in a 1000+HP koenigsegg agera R, my favourite car an drem job to work for him
This company has my respect and appreciation, before the car, the man behind it, it takes a lot of vision and detiremination to start a car company from scratch and in a matter of a few years rach the top of the hypercar kingdom.
I have alot of respect for robert. The way he talks really shows how experienced he is, and it almost felt like he owned the company. He was also right about race drivers being different than test drivers. Kudos to kristen for hiring him :)
I've grown so much respect for this car company that i initially thought was weird, but it is absolutely brilliant and a testament to Christian and the workers.
Yeah, I was talking about the base 5.0L and even with forged pistons I doubt how long that engine would last pushing this kind of power. I recall watching a video somewhere on youtube quite a while ago with an interview with Koenigsegg about what they were doing with the Agera's engine, they were experimenting with pretty revolutionary ideas and even talking about producing camless engines for their cars. I believe the CCR was the last car the use what was essentially a Ford block.
Probably, he's talking about choosing different gear ratios. Back in the '60s, American cars were had optional close-ratio or wide-ratio gearboxes. Close-ratio was optimized for acceleration, wide-ratio gave good performance but less shifting in town. I would think this is probably what he means.
He was talking about tuning the different modes. What's a good engine or gearbox setting in race mode or track mode or whatever Koenigsegg calls it is not optimal for city driving, so they tune the engine and gearbox and I assume also throttle, breaks and steering differently for each mode. If you were to run the car in race mode in the city it would probably stall at every traffic light and breaking would be an immediate dead stop by the slightest push of the pedal.
Agreed, and make sure he tests it going round corners. We already know it's a beast from 0-fast-0. Wanna see its cornering speeds compared with a stock GT-R(just to compare to something) and a Zonda Huayra.
he might have meant that "city tuning" would not have as aggressive gear shifts, you'd want a smooth shift during city driving. but for their record they mustve used the best fuel, the most aggressive gear changes and suspension settings and such. technically you can do the same with your own agera but it might not be set up like that when it leaves the factory.
I have to agree with your statement here. Developing an entire new engine platform would be extremely costly. Probably more than a low volume company like Koenigsegg can afford. So it definitely makes sense, and hey, look at how capable engines like the 5.4 in the GT are. They push insane power in those cars. Granted they are beefed up when required, but still...
Topgear is a huge supporter of Koenigsegg... The CCX was top of the speed wall for a while and Stig crashed it on the track, which led to the addition of the 'Top Gear Spoiler' on the CCX options list. The show's barely returned to screens, I'm sure if they could fit it into programming soon they would!
The record car was/is set for top speed so if they changed the ratio they could scrub off some serious time. If you watch the record video it slows down significantly in it's top speed gears while the Venom just keeps going.
I'm not saying the Venom is a bad looking car, Im just saying its a modified Lotus with an LS9 made in a nice garage in Texas with various parts from various companies, while the Agera is built from scratch in an aircraft hangar in Sweeden that used to house fighter jets...
He was indeed a racing driver. If you google his name+career you get his racing records. Apparently he did kart racing and ran in the MX-5 Swedish cups. Not sure if he has any kind of engineering studies or something of the sort.
When he was talking about tuning the gearbox at around 4:30, what exactly did he mean by tuning the gearbox for those different situations? Is he saying they were working out different modes for the gearbox (which can be changed by the driver), or was the gearbox simply set up differently for the 0-300-0 run from what a customer would get?
