I love my Yamaha THR. It's a complete package. Wireless, rechargeable battery, sounds great, audio interface, does both guitar and bass... lovely.

I have a v.1 version of the THR-10 - still sounds great. No need for pedals, just plug right in wherever you are.

I keep thinking about a THR10 ii as my main amp, I only play at home with low volume and my blues Junior is too damn loud. Can you recommend highly?

@@thedoodl38ug Most definitely, although the Katana is about the same price, or maybe even cheaper? Either way, I still love the THR-10 and do recommend it.

It’s an original mate. You can tell by the neck profile. Great instruments. Bit heavy for stage use, but nevertheless still lighter than a Les Paul.

I'm on one of those unplugged electric kicks. I started picking up the tele, strat and LPs but not turning the amp on, maybe 6 weeks ago. I'll get over it; it's not the first time. I feel like it helps my playing in the end.

The BOSS Pocket GT and a pair of headphones is an ideal travel companion. You can program all the sounds you want using you laptop before leave, you can stream backing tracks from your phone on Bluetooth….and it won’t annoy your travelling companions, not that I’m suggesting your playing would ever do that 🤣

Love my AIR for practice. Plug the headphone out into a set of studio monitors and the sound is unbelievably good. Stock speakers are underwhelming at best but useful for quick practice.

Debussy - Clair de Lune - play a nocturne (a short composition of a romantic nature/a picture of a night scene) in the garden at dusk or after dark. Ambient not busy. Less Tony Iommi, more Brian Eno.

How does the Helix Native gets into the AIR? Just via the USB cable? Looks like I'm missing something. Is there an audio interface used somewhere in that setup?

It might be fun to see a bit of busking - even if it was providing backing for a proper busker for 30 mins. Or noodling in a pub. Surprised John took a 335: large, fear of breaking, bashing, dinging, scratching, gashing, getting stolen, crushed. You wouldn't toy with an acoustic one time, maybe?

During that intro I was expecting "Hi, I'm John. I'll show you where I'm currently pooping in a moment, but first here's my lead tone" I've just had a week away too myself and before we went I picked up a second hand Steinberger Spirit for a couple hundred quid, I also got a Positive Grid Go. I had a great time sat on the balcony of our apartment enjoying the weather jamming along to backing tracks playing on my tablet through the Spark Go. It's not exactly Fractal quality, but for what I was doing it worked perfectly well. I also have a Washburn Rover I've taken away with me before. But the Steinberger was so much more enjoyable Plus, it was great to come home and not be rusty at rehearsal last night Just shows there's plenty of great options out there

My travel rig is an HX Stomp, Yamaha THR5, an iPad with Logic Pro, a Steinberger guitar, Arturia Minilab keys and a pair of headphones. I can use this to produce studio quality recordings for entire tracks anywhere. Only the Stomp requires a wall outlet, but with just the THR5 and the iPad I could do the basics.

Playing an empty Medieval village church midweek might be interesting. If you played a variation on a theme of some old hymn that might create magical sounds. Some old Victorian hymns are banging and long out of copyright: e.g. Amazing Grace, Wayfaring Stranger, God'll Cut Your Down. Speak nice to the Vicar s/he might say "Yes". Show them some of your YT content. All you'd need is 30 mins. The natural acoustics/reverb might draw out something quite special, original, unique.

I have a NUX mighty space amp, small, battery powered and wireless. Love it for practice at home. It can also double as a head, it will drive a cabinet at 40w!
