Can these be mounted sideways so the opening door can be more easily accessed from the rear of the vehicle?

How does it handle the wind? Is it rain proof or shower resistant?

There's a 100mm gap at the top where the velcro strips attach it to the awning. how is that supposed to keep midgies out?

Lath Selman pause on 0:13 and ull see tgat it is fully enclosed room UNDER the awning

It's a completely sealed room. The gap is between the awning and the roof of the tent. These are fantastic.

pitty your vehicle has to be 2 metres high and it wont fit onto a normal car

I use mine on a forester. I just made a bracket using galvanised mending plates bought from hardware store, drilled to match the awning mounts and that allows me to raise the height of the awning mount up to 2M high when i get to the site and then the awning and tent work well.
