I've been using the Amaran 300c for a few months now, in this video I'm giving you the details on this light. It has big pros along with a few cons. It's bright, small and has a bowens mount which makes it incredibly versatile. I wish it had a longer power cable and the ability to turn the fan off (even if that would limit the output)

i love the bts high angle shot to see all the gear you are using. cant wait til you show us all the stuff you use to make one vid. definitely going to take your lighting course one day when its needed. for now im in an editing course

Hi! I've been watching some of your light videos - good work,high quality! - but I was wondering... Do you have a good "budget" light option that can be used on my desk? I just started making videos,i have a webcam and everything is good, I just need brighter image but unluckily I don't have anymore space in my room to put a stand or stuff like that

For a typical sit down video set up would you need 2 of these as a key and fill light?

No you could use just one with a large soft box and angle the light accordingly to achieve as much or as little shadow as you want

Great video. You probably forgot about 150C. It's also amazing one, but cheaper. I've bought it recenty and used only once. As a key light it was pretty good. I used quite big modifier (120 cm octa) in some distance (about 2,5 m from the character) and set light power on 30%. I think it was really quiet. I was standing really close to it and I couldn't hear the fan

I am new to lighting and I still don't know if I should go with the 150c or the 300c. I am thinking of using it for interviews in small rooms, solo dance videos, B-roll videos in restaurants, and just experimenting with light and learning in my apartment.

The 150 is still super bright, I’d go with that and overtime if you feel you need more light you can upgrade

you're using it on a small lantern, but what if you used it on a big one, or on a 46 inch /120cm softbox, probably not strong enough, right? and it is a beginner light. its just a bit more expensive

It would be plenty bright, just as bright (if not more) as any other 300 watt fixture. If you needed more power then you would need a 600 or 1200 watt light, which is exponentially more expensive

In my opinion yes it’s better. The forza doesn’t have RGB options and in my experience nanlite app control is flakey

The app system is far better, but the Godox has perks too, mainly the back display, for me it comes down to compatibility with the app and other aputure lights, as a system I’ve been enjoying aputure more for more advanced lighting suiff like pixel effects with the tubes, but sometimes just using a remote can be more convenient with the Godox. Both a fantastic it just depends on your needs/wants

@benjohnsoncreative I bought the aputure 300c at 4 days ago and I see the godox sr300z have 49800 lux out put and aputure 300c is 20890 lux, So i sold the 300c and buy sr300z today. I hope this is a good choice. XD love your video ~ from Taiwan

Hello Ben hope all is well. I think it's a good light but way over priced, at this price you should get a remote with it I don't like lights that I have too use apps to control it, still and all great review thank you for sharing it with us

Actually, it’s very competitively priced and (for once) the app is actually great and useful. I use aputure and amaran lights on set all the time with Sidus link and it couldn’t be smoother.

If the send you a light then its considered an endorsement. Don’t get that twisted. What’s the difference. Tell the truth talk about the real problems with the light, hope they send you stuff in the future
