This is really charming! Thanks for all your effeort! Im going to give it a try, but it seems pretty complicated to me! 😂❤ I think I will try first on just copy paper, to get the feel for it!
Love your calming voice of instruction. This puzzle purse brought back memories of my childhood. I made this purse yesterday with a garden theme to use as a gift for a 10 yr old girl who is very art inclined. She'll love this. Do you remember paper dolls? You're probably too young 😅 this project has inspired me to do some watercolor paper dolls. I wish there was a way of sharing images on this platform. Great channel, I subscribed. 😊
Thank you so much! Après des dizaines de tentatives, la minute 2:39+ m’a enfin permis de comprendre les plus qui doivent se toucher pour refermer la chose. Vous êtes une formidable artiste doubler d’une formidable didacticienne! ❤🎉
You are a brilliant teacher! This was a wonderful video, so many insights. The work is just sublime. I am happy to see that you took the time to PLAY as that is always important in the journey. Thank you for always sharing beautiful and inspiring content. You always bring a smile to my face!
Thank you Leslie for posting your entire process including drawing, it really helps to understand how you got all the images aligned and facing the right way❤
I always follow your shorts and didn't realize you don't make longer ones..but I love puzzles and origami and this really spoke to my art style. I enjoy water color pencils and have been experimenting a lot with inks too. Your voice is so soothing and the music perfect and gentle. (I'm recovering from hip replacement) I love your mix of showing and explaining but not too much "goofy" talk. You are a wonderful teacher ..keep it up for 2024. Hope to see more and learn more from you Leslie.😊❤ Happy , Merry holiday season 🎄🌟
Thanks so much, Katharina. I appreciate your comments and support. I wish you a healthy and full recovery from your hip replacement. Art therapy to the rescue!!🤗❤️
I don’t really get on with live-streaming. I did a handful last year and I find it too stressful trying to simultaneously draw/paint, talk, and read and respond to viewer comments. Plus, the replays are only SD, so the video quality isn’t ideal. I’d prefer to record something in HD and edit out the long pauses, etc. 😊
I follow your shorts content, and I love to see these longer videos. This is so beautiful! I've learned so much from you, because you explain the process and tools. You inspire me with my art! Thank you ❤
That's just lovely and so perfectly "vintage". Thank you - when I can steal myself enough time to try one I would have a perfect little Christmas present for my mum 😍 Merry Christmas, Leslie 🎄
New subscriber here. I've never been one to draw or paint, but I'd like to start! I love seeing the entire process here, both folding and sketching/painting.
I found you through shorts and I’ve been craving long form content from you so thanks for making it! That stick. About the YT algorithm not pushing out your longer videos but hopefully that will change! As for the project, I love it and want to make one! It will have to be after I finish painting my Christmas cards!
You can make them for Valentine’s Day too! 😊 Thanks for your support and your thoughtful reply. Good luck with those Christmas cards! I have to do mine tonight!! 😊
WOW! im in love with this, evey year imp make xmas cards for my parents but im very quickly running out of ideas, so this was a MASSIVE help! Thank you so much for the tutorial and all the art tips you give! 😊❤
This is the prettiest puzzle purse I've ever seen! Thank you for sharing the entire process. Your composition and design is so beautiful. Thank your for sharing your talent.
I just recently discovered how to fold Victorian Purse puzzles. Your tutorial has motivated me to try to decorate a couple in time for Valentine's Day or a British Tea Party invitation for friends. My spouse is a Brit and will luv it.
Ohhhh.... How very beautiful❤❤ Thank you for showing the process so clearly. I really enjoyed watching you draw and paint 😍 Thank you too for your discussion of the papers and materials - very helpful🎨💞
Love everything about this!!! I don't see a 'bell' to get notified of the longer content videos. Do you have a list for your PENCIL you are using. Also the PEN. Is it permanent ink? WATERCOLOR PENCILS too please. Thank you!!!
@@LeslieStroz I watch from my phone...but I think I can do it , the others I saw weren't saying how to the just did it fast. I think my girls did these when they were teens 😊 🙏 thanks for the reply.
@@margueritemitchell1829I love the “pause” feature and also the ability to rewind and fast forward. If you click on the “wheel” in the upper right hand corner of the video you can change the playback speed to whatever best suits you. Good luck! You can do it! 🤗
Such a great tutorial! The folds explained (valley or hill) and the way to make the wreath continuous. I wonder if the thick paper would have worked, if had been wet (but not dried folded up, of course.
Love your beautiful designs! And thank you for explaining how to fold the middle in (another video said it "magically" folds inward; guess I didn't have the magic until I watched your video!)
What a beautiful treat to give to someone! It's beautiful! I love the delicate victorian style. I am not talented at drawing but I'm thinking using washi paper or similar paper, decorations, or a few words could be nice? Maybe with a special photo in the center. This kind of reminds me of a folded paper game we played as children. It was folded so both thumbs and index fingers held it in the middle with the outside corners forming a pyramid over them. There were number on each corner and your friend picked one of them and you opened and closed your fingers so the top of the pyramid spreads apart first vertically then horizontally as you counted out the number. You then opened pyramid flat to reveal a choice of four colors. Again they choose one. Under it was a sweet message for them! Thank you for the idea and the memory. I'll have to try to make puzzle purses for my granddaughters. They'll love them! ❤
I’m so glad that you included the whole process. As I was wondering how you worked out what to draw where. This is truly stunning and definitely something you have inspired me to give a go. Thank you so much for sharing
You’re welcome! I had a lot of anxiety about “ruining” it with one bad illustration, or accidentally painting something upside down, so the prototype was incredibly helpful, and quick too! 😊
This is a delightfully nostalgic project. You struck a good balance in the video between the folding, the layout, and the drawing and painting process. Now, where did I put my waterproof drawing ink...?
Thank you so much for posting this longer piece. I try to catch everything you post. If I miss a post! I go find it! Many I have watched multiple times. Your teaching style is perfect for me. Your voice is calming & I enjoy the background information as well as breaking down the techniques. I'm getting back into being creative with art after many years. It has been a very long time. Again thank you.
It makes me happy to know that my videos have helped encourage you on your art journey. Thanks so much for your kind words and feedback- much appreciated! 😊❤
Thank you so much for sharing, a lovely present I'd like to make for my grandson with a wonderful story painted on it and maybe something hidden inside, like a coin? I am curious about my creativity :)
Oh, I love you for this! Thank you so much for showing everything in detail step by step. I've been looking forward to seeing your tutorial and am eager to make it myself. What a perfect video.. and what a pleasant, beautiful, calm voice and manner of teaching you have. Merci! ❤
Thank you so much for detailed tutorial and special thanks for showing different thicknesses of papers. Now I don't have to test all paper I have by myself 😄 I know which one I should take
Thanks Leslie. Helpful & Enjoyable to watch, and also, your voice is actually lovely & soothing to listen to, which makes a huge difference to me - particularly when taking in new information. 💚🙏💚
Thank you, Leslie, for sharing how to make this Victorian puzzle. I don’t think I could ever master the folding; truly I couldn’t. However, I certainly enjoyed watching you do it. I discovered you yesterday at 2pm. I was still going strong at 10 pm. Thank you for giving me so many hours of pleasure. I’ll watch whatever content you create; but, how about another roadtrip to another charming village?
Thank you ever so much, that must be possible to make. I have taken a look for an inch and cm ruler on Amazon. Wishing you a wounderful Christmas .and a good and happy new year. Christiane ❤️ from Berlin Germany
I appreciate the detailed tutorial on the design of the puzzle purse. It looked so balanced and intricate. I thought I could never do something like that until you broke it down. Thank you for the lovely video.
I enjoyed this video so much! Your content is excellent. I learned a lot about how to plan all the little illustrations to fill the purse. Your work is beautiful.
I love it! First time here. I usually watch longer form art demos, so 20 minutes is perfect. I have been recently doodling on watercolor abstracts and this little box looks like a delightful format for that. This reminds me of a paper fold game we played as a kids in the 60s with #s and sayings.
