I've had these since they came out. I am a quality auditor and travel all over the world (or at least I do in non-lockdown times), and I find it an invaluable travel companion.
I have no use for a chronometer function…..so I bought Citizen’s F150 model….which has a much cleaner to read dial. I love my watch. Nothing to do but hit the upper button….wait 30 sec…..and it resets to perfect west coast time. Other than that…I just get up….put it on…and go. The only time I pull up the YT setup instructions is twice a year when we change to DST or normal time. This is by far the most accurate watch I’ve ever owned.
Like the watch and it's capabilities, although I have not needed GPS technology I have always been drawn to that technology, i have also had Seiko's since I was sixteen (now 58 for reference), I bought my first Citizen (a promaster diver)four months back and have since looked into their tool models and History in Japan in the Seventies but I digress. I am very impressed with Citizen and I see them as an under the radar brand, at least out of Japan, My next watch will be a Citizen Eco drive as all my watches have been Automatic, well apert from the odd Casio all those years back, and thank you for a good informative and pertinent video.
Thank you for getting back to me. I travel a lot for work and this is the type of watch that I'm looking for. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued which makes it hard to find in the States. I've found a couple on eBay but I am a little weary of new old stock and buying from overseas. I read one or two people who had a mechanical issue with the watch so I thought I'd check with you. Thanks again.
I have one of these in super titanium but the bracelet is a much nicer being a graduated link bracelet. Mine retailed at about £1500 but I got it for approx half that price. Super titanium is the most luxurious material for watches. I totally agree with you on that point.
@@malcookie Hi. I got it from a main high st jeweller's. They had it in stock and I paid for it and walked out the store. It never occurred to me that I had got it cheap because I thought they had made a mistake and given me the wrong watch. I doubt that you will get one new anymore because they've stopped making them. If you're looking on line at one, scroll down the list of stats etc. you probably will see in the stock list that it says not available. I don't know why the retailers show items that aren't available anymore.
I just got this piece and I’m struggling to get the right fit on the bracelet. Either too tight or too loose with the slide adjuster. A half link would make it perfect. I wonder if citizen makes them for it?
I bought the same watch whilst contracting aboard P&O's Azura and paid £930.46, just found the receipt 18th July 2017, therefore I'd better get it serviced, sharpish. A truly functional, elegant and dependable timepiece.
@@manosparavida3551 You're welcome. Perhaps I should add the only thing you might need to set are the "Leap Seconds", which is a similar thing we do in a "Leap Year". Your watch will need to add a leap second every few years. Its no big deal if you don't do it, but what will happen is that your watch will be a second or two (or more) ahead than the atomic clock whenever it syncs the time from the GPS satellite signal. There is a procedure to add this manually or you can automatically receive a Leap Second but it takes about 7-13 minutes to sync, which is a significant drain from battery.
@@CesarGamezT Wow! It all sounds a bit complex. I actually keep forgetting how to allow for daylight saving, when our clock's go forward in summer time and back one hour in the winter time. Obviously I'm from The UK. My watch is currently one hour in front, but I only wear it out at weekends, so I'l make a point of adjusting it today.
Bravo! Very thoughtful and practical review...one question @WatchSK / SeikoModsDubai : Have you had an issue accidentally depressing the pushers when you flex your wrist outward?
You promise not to bore with everything else and that's exactly what you did what you promised you wouldn't do thanks a lot for helping me to manually set my watch
Dutyfreeisland is a good shop, I think they have the newer model in stock at $1150, I got lucky on mine a few years ago, you should be able to find one under $1000 maybe on Chrono24 or eBay too
I have one in my collection and wear it regularly. The day of the week is out on mine by one day. An assembly error, but a nice quirk in a way. I usually, but not always, know what day of the week it is. So no biggy. Good to know that the Japanese are fallible. Like the rest of us.
@@svkwatches No. It is clearly an assembly error. The same hand is used to indicate power reserve and on Sunday that hand strays into the power reserve area. It really is not a problem for me. It is like having a British postal stamp with a print error. We all make mistakes...even Citizen watches!
Thank you for your review. Since the video was posted in 2020, have you had any operational issues with the watch? Have you needed to have the watch serviced?
I don't know but but square watch facinates me a lot. Mainly Black dial and white hands. But ...but sadly they do it only over round. Imagine this one in square.
Excellent presentation. What about summer time adjustment? I’ve read that the satellites do not provide information for the summer time, so it has to be adjusted manually. If I understood well, satellite reception works only for winter time? Many thanks.
@@Panagiotis_Pap it will get the satellite signal for the time still yes, but you gotta select the daylight saving time option on the watch so that it knows to move the hour forward or back
Citizen have a good tutorial video on the watch too if you take a look at their site/RU-vid channel - I can’t remember right now but it’s one of the sub dial options set by pulling the crown and flicking over to the other settings
Best thing to do is search the reference in your countries Google, should show you current prices, or try chrono24/eBay. They seem to be trading around $1000
I was after it for a while and Ernest Jones had some on sale at the time, I think I paid £750 in the end as the watch had a small scratch from the display, also got VAT back as only visiting UK that time so final price was £680.. keep an eye on sales from high street jewellers like that, they’re not generally popular models so often on sale, but maybe becoming rare now.
I have a Samsung Galaxy watch. No need to mention all the things it can do or what an Apple watch can do. Perfect international timekeeping being just one. This Citizen watch is now equal to a Model T by comparison.
