This is an amazing video. I purchased one MX6 Elite and won't move the wheels. I will check everything tomorrow and hope it will be something stuck in there only. I purchased used one for $150 not sure if it was a good deal or not. I will keep you posted on the results. Thank you
Hello I’ve changed the directional device the cleaner moves but always get stuck on the steps and at the main drain the Middle of the pool. New filter and the suction is in the right position.
I change out several parts on the MX6, but I now notice that it always goes to the same spot by the corner of the in-ground pool bench. It stays at the same spot and does not reverse until I physically move it to another place in the pool. Can you give me an idea of why this is happening? Thanks
The jets in your pool should create a current that pushes debri to the skimmer. That's great however, it will also push the hose that is floating on top of the water dragging the pool cleaner in a direction toward the skimmer. I use jet diverters to blow the water down to the bottom of the pool and not across when Im cleaning it. Also, floats on the suction line help a bunch....Its try it and see....some tips work for some people , not all tips work for everyone...In short...Pain in the A$$
Great video. The fins on my engine are hard to spin by hand. Should they be pretty loose to rotate in the enclosure? Mine cleaner won’t move and everything else looks good inside.
I changed all parts mentioned on the video, the side A, turbine, motor, bearings, tires and my zodiac mx6 will run for a minute and then stop. If I push the turbine with my finger it gets it to start again and then runs for another minute and stops again. I have clean my filter, baskets and still nothing. I tried using it with the regulator valve and I have also try it without a regulator valve . And either way I have the same issue. My pool cleaner connects to my skimmer. Any ideas/suggestions what else to try? Thank you
Sounds like something is out of alignment. Take it out and spin the turbine on the bottom by hand. See if the cleaner seizes up. Try to isolate that point
My mx-6 the turbine stops spinning when it is at the bottom of the pool. I can give the turbine a little push and it starts up for a few seconds. So , what am i replacing?
A new unit will run you around $350 and if you change all of the wear parts at once - a quick ballpark would be around $120 or so. So you can rebuild it 3 times at the cost of a new unit. Hope that helps and thanks for the great feedback!
I have a MX6 elite thats making an annoying squeaking noise. the cleaner is only 3 months old, and running in a saltwater chlorine pool. Already replaced the rubber tracks and cyclone scrubber underneath because they wore out; assume because the pool is brand new and the plaster is still a bit rough. I also noticed what appears to be calcium or salt buildup on the unit, I think its salt because I can rub it and it comes off. Do you think I should submerse it in diluted muriatic acid or something else to clean it or do I need to replace the motor or impeller inside which is where the sound is coming from? Thanks in advance... found your channel right after I filled my pool because you covered many of the issues I discovered as a new pool owner.
It doesn't sound ight to have those parts wear that fast. I would take it back to the pool store where you got it and have them check it out. It does come with a a one year warranty and Zodiac is good about warranty issues.
Actually the pool contractor provided it with the pool, I will reach out to him. I pulled the unit apart, found that the squeak is coming from the engine impeller that has those fins on that ball with the bearings. The fins pass thru a guide that has rubber guide and as each fin passes thru it sounds like a squeak. Anyway, thanks for the update, i will see what store my contractor got it at.
The left tread on my MX6 elite only goes forward, NEVER goes in neutral/reverse. Is this normal? Does the MX6 elite only have one side capable of going in reverse?
Hi, I've replaced all the parts possible except for the directional device (side A), but it's stopped moving again. When I test the directional device, it works as it's supposed to (i.e. turns, then goes to neutral, then reverses) when I test it by hand. But because it's still original, could that be what's causing it to not move? Thanks for the great videos!
my mx6 doesn't stay flat on the pool floor. After running for about 3 minutes it'll get up on it's hind legs and stay in the same position. Do you know what I should replace?
@@SPL I can't seem to get the suction right. Works ok on a shorter hose when pump is running low speed but when I add length to hose and turn speed up on pump, no dice
We've had our MX6 for just over a year now and it has constantly been stopping the whole time. We have to physically move it, even with all troubleshooting. Its been disappointing.
My MX6 moves and turns, but it stays in the same place. If I move it to another spot, it immediately goes back to that same location and stays. How do I fix that?
@@SPL The hoses that come with the unit are terrible. If you buy a new hose becareful about the weight of the hose. Ones its filled with water it becomes to heavy for the cleaner to drag around in the water and you will find it pulls the front of the tracks off the pool bottom and then it stops moving....Its a pain in the ass....Not impressed with anything about this unit...
