I don’t like how they forced representation by making Vanya Viktor just bc the Actor came out as transgender. I also think that it’s sweet that they changed the credits for him too though :)

@@ventustbb3229 well, they wanted to keep Elliot in the role, a) because he's brilliant, and b) could you imagine the uproar of an actor coming out as trans and being instantly dropped from his biggest show of the moment?! And keeping him playing a woman would have been uncomfortable. But having him transition just goes to show that anyone can transition - the door isn't closed to them because of who they are or the stage in their life that they're at. I know Vanya didn't transition in the comics, but that's a different, past Vanya. I think the show handled the whole thing in the best way possible.

@@mintygrey Not saying they should’ve gotten rid of him. Actors play female characters sometimes too. We had Robin Williams putting in the work as Mrs. Doubtfire. Then there’s Tyler Perry who plays Madea. Both actors had to wear body suits & wigs to do that. It’s a job & it’s called acting. Idk what the issue was with him playing a female character. Vanya didn’t even “dress & act” really girly. Like I could understand if his character wore dresses & acted like a diva/valley girl. That would be uncomfortable, but that wasn’t a thing. Also I read somewhere that Elliot would’ve been fine playing his character the way it was b4. Not sure if that’s true, but if it is then it’s definitely forced representation & no one can really deny it. If the actor actually said that. I could totally get over the character change too. If the season wasn’t so bad. Like they took a huge 💩 on Allison’s character for no reason. Idk if the writers were high or what, but that wasn’t it. Idk about that, but they tried their best I guess. Btw a better way to have made the character change would’ve been making the alternate timeline Vanya Viktor instead. Would’ve made more sense imo. I totally would’ve been on board for that.

@@ventustbb3229 You sound so dumb like they arent forcing anything since Elliot said he was with playing Vanya but it didnt feel right to the writors. You need to get it through your thick skull that the tv industry is changing especially when it comes to casting since the stuff that happen when Robin Williams was acting wouldnt fly in this day and age so get with the program.

Maybe a bit in season 3 but overall this show is a beaut

@@SansTheSkeleton_ season 3, while I did really enjoy it, felt all over the place. It felt like they were trying to connect and fit 3 massive plot points into a short timespan. Also Allison’s character got fucked so hard. I wanted to punch her through the screen for all the stupid shit she was doing that season.

He literally says that Viktor is who he’s always been, pretending he’s not Viktor because he hadn’t come out at this point is silly, you wouldn’t call Elliot by his dead-name when talking about his past…so why call Viktor by _his_ dead name.

I’ve looked this up before, and if I remember correctly, the explanation is that Five was in the process of choosing a name before he disappeared but then obviously didn’t get around to doing it

Yeah there is no set answer, even with the people involved in the show apparently. The show runner says Five was indecisive so he couldn’t settle on a name before he disappeared, Gerard Way said Five was fine with just being called a number so he didn’t bother with changing his name, and Aidan Gallagher believes he rejected a name out of spite

@@payton8172 cell phones specifically (not phones in general, cell phones) and other certain pieces of tech not every piece of tech. They still have landlines but we never see a cell phone and they have older cameras and tvs
