Meh, I don't really mind that unhealthy pseudo-Stockholm-Syndrome after being shackled to another person for five years. Weirder still is the sudden transformation of Diego from slightly chunky family man in the fake town to prime beef in the CIA building. I don't mind the fan service, but how? Same thing with Luther and sudden Gorilla body. How did he find anything that fits on such short notice?
@navalprakash3727 He was kind of cruel when he was under his father's influence. Now that we know it was all his dad's fault it's easier to give season 1 him more grace.
I believe people are annoyed about lila and five's relationship because they didn't do a good job in making it feel like they were alone together for 6 and a half years, and that they began to lose hope of ever coming home. ALSO I wished they would've showed more of the characters using their powers as we barely see it and that really sucked, and it was quite rushed, and any character development was all rushed entirely, which make this final season feel quite terrible, I wished they did 10 episodes or more with the same story but whilst zooming in on some parts for more longer than an episode such as luther and Diego's time in the CIA, which would've made the whole season so much better. But at the end of the day I'm glad we even got a final season even though it was bad and took over 2 years 😊
Honestly, I don't think I would have liked the lila x five thing even if they'd spent more time with it. My main issue is that it was just unnecessary. Them getting stuck for that long essentially led to nothing in the plot. I'd rather just have the one scene of five finding the other five's and leave it at that, giving time to other plot devices. Or give the train a greater purpose than just "this is our way into a ship that no one asked for". At least Allison's character regression in season 3 held a purpose with her being low enough to help reggie in his scheme. We got an idea of how low and desperate she was, and there were two seasons worth of showing how she ended up there. Five and Lila? Literally nothing to add to the overall issue/resolution. The only thing it did was led to a lack of closure between both of them and Diego, even up to their end. Oh, and also led to Five...abandoning his family during their final battle? Which s1-3 five would never, EVER do??
On top of that there was no reason for Five and Lila to have a relationship, it didn’t do anything for the story and it was only there for two episodes. On top of that it just felt like there was no charcter development with any of the characters and they all just died without any resolution. If they were going to die at least give them character development, it just makes it feel so pointless. They all just reverted to how they were before and just died. There’s nothing wrong with them dying at the end if they actually wrote the characters well and gave them a resolution. But nothing. 😭
But also the irl age gap is also a reason why I can’t stand the ship, it just makes me so uncomfortable that the writers have been planning this since s3 and essentially waited until Aidan was legal to do the storyline. This whole storyline is so out of character for Five and Lila. Five and Lila would never betray Diego like that. This season was a mess
@@morganphillips5878 i feel like all it did was give five something to hold onto while he died. the entire show was just him busting his ass from timeline to tmeline tryna save his ungrateful ass family who ended up blaming him and yelling at him every season. and he still loved them. i feel like he needed one thing that was JUST HIS to hold onto that he didnt need to connect to his family's survival or the bloody apocalypses while he was erased from existence. and lila gave him that. she was the only possible person that they could make him have a romance arc w because itroducing a new character into the gang that was all ab family would seem too rushed, so i feel like in the end they just stuck him with lila to give him SOMETHING to hold onto. even if it was his brothers wife but diego and lila were having problems from before that and lila and five were also trapped together for six years, feelings are bound to develop. and same, the fact that diego and five died thinking the worst of each other kills me they both deserved the very very best my heart aches for them both.
I just realized that klaus’s tarot cards were the lovers card (Ben & Jen), the tower card (loss of self control), and the death card (for obvious reasons) basically telling us what was going to happen for the rest of the season 😮
The last card was actually the ten of swords. The nearing completion or completion of a thought, idea, endeavor, etc. Sort of a meta bit. He just calls it the card of death bc that's a typical interpretation of it, while the actual Death card is just a general large change, not only a literal death.
The lovers represent balance (balanced world without them in it), the tower represents chaos and destruction in their context and the last card was ten of swords actually, which can mean a lot of things: betrayal, failure, saying goodbye, no way out and similar. Death also doesn't represent litera death :)
I'm 8 months into my cancer diagnosis, and a major surgery, 3 complications, an arm cast, a feeding tube procedure, and 4 hospital stays have really thought me to chill out and appreciate the things I love. Was this season perfect? Fuck no! Was I able to go with the flow and enjoy 6 hours of chaos with the characters I love? Absolutely. Plus, it was really cathartic to watch these characters deal with death and futility throughout the series. Almost dying to cancer is a relatively unique experience, especially for people under 30, but oddly enough I felt like Umbrella Academy kind of understood that feeling. The siblings had to accept that the life they each wanted might not be possible, that they will lose people they love forever, the world is changing and potentially ending and there is nothing anyone can do about it, and that at the end of the day nothing matters but themselves and their loved ones. I felt that. With the show's characters I stared into Oblivion, and still had some laughs. I'll always love The Umbrella Academy for that.

those time travel symptom thingys very likely only apply to when you meet or are near yourself in an established alternate timeline, the subway station isn't a timeline but a state of limbo between all of them - in short, it's like time travel purgatory
@@h.k.9210 yeah maybe that was the case, they just do a very poor job of explaining these things i think. like when luther’s body get changed again, it could have sth to do with (i don’t remember who said this) all the timelines are like crashing into each other or it’s all merging with each other somehow but in either case, they never draw any attention to it and then offer theory or explanation, just kinda expect us to accept what have not been the norm before
they did explain that, the subway is a way into other timelines at an instant of time. its kind of like a frozen archway where time doesnt exist as it does in the real timeline worlds, therefore its paradox free since the fives arent actually in a timeline
The thing that weirded me out the most about the Five and Lila thing was the age difference, both in the show and irl. Aiden Gallager is 20 and Rita Ayra is 35 while Five is in his 60's and Lila's 29
Ok sure in the show they can get away with that but it looks like as soon as Aiden’s Gallagher became an adult they made him have a romance with someone who’s 15 years older than him. That’s still incredibly messed up and weird
Connecting Santa Claus, murder and baby sark is a cinematic masterpiece worthy of oscar 😅this show is a gem when it comes to fighting scenes out of context

No no, the whole season was bad. They had sub plots that went nowhere or were just plain boring. Alison and the Truman show thing with her town. Luther and Diego in/fighting the Fbi. Five and Lila meeting the sparrow academy. Klaus become a psychic medium for a criminal. Mrs Hargreaves just suddenly becoming evil and taking people's faces out of nowhere. It's like a bunch of random short stories that's endearing because of the jokes and meme-able moments

The umbrella academy literally called bens death "the Jennifer incident" last season and the writers completely ignore that. The whole thing is filled with plot holes and ignores character development. And none of their kids felt like real people. Sorry for the rant
Everyone defending Lila and Five is just nuts...I mean I'm really sorry about her breaking his heart and I'm glad he finally got over Dolores, but Lila is married to his brother. And that alone makes it so god damn wrong...the fact they have 2 kids too and she can't even be honest about it to Diego after getting back makes me SO MAD, JESUS.
it makes sense for the story I feel that the reason people are mad is either because they didn’t develop it properly due to time constraints or becuz everyone has a crush on Aidan Gallagher
@@maysun3752how is it gross. They were both consenting adults and it wasn’t some of that dark romance sh*t literally everyone is obsessed with. It was a wholesome yet heartbreaking relationship. The actors kissed because they were okay with it and because it’s their literal job and the characters were stuck with each other for 7 years. It was either they got together to experience some happiness or actually go insane.

I would of thought it would of been funny if Five found another Mannequin and Lila got annoyed at him because Five wanted to bring the Mannequin everywhere etc. that would of made more sense for the story.

Ok don’t hate me but I didn’t watch S2. So I never was invested in Diego and Lila’s relationship. From Five’s standpoint, with him constantly being by himself in a world of (literally) one, I can imagine that he truly appreciated finally being accompanied by the presence of someone else. Granted, it wasn’t under the greatest circumstances. But I’m sure he had no idea whether it was gonna be another 45 years again if he would find his family 🤷♀️ I definitely believe Lila when she said it was for survival. So for me, I did not think this was a far fetched plot. I did hate that Diego and Five left the world under stressed and torn issues…
Okay the thing with the car stereo being stuck playing Baby Shark... couldn't they just have turned the volume down to zero? Even if they couldn't turn it "off," surely they could've just muted it that way?
This season was chaos and not in a good way but the thing that annoys me is that the ten of swords is not a death card, not exactly, there's an actual literal death card so why didn't they use that? The ten of swords usually represents painful endings but not death, it is an ending you may grieve over but you will eventually move on from and perhaps to happier times so with that in mind, I choose to believe they didn't get erased and got to move on to their version of "heaven" or will be reborn as normal people in the correct timeline with no recollection of their past lives. It's a better end than just being erased because they're all at fault for causing the apocalypse which didn't fully make sense to me.
I could handle the five/lila whole thing if they went back and were like wtf we did? Like lila kinda was when she said it was survival, if it had made any sense into the story!!!! But it didn’t add up to anything!!!!!!!! Just made my guy diego sad! Fuck this waste of screen time and that fucking ending???? They became fuckin flowers? After everything????? No way in hell
As confusing as these last two seasons have been… I actually loved this season a lot more than season three. I loved how much they focused on character relationships instead of just turning every scene into a gag for laughs. My biggest complaint was how short the season was. There were SO many cool storylines but no time to flesh them out. (I also hated how they only cared about klaus when he was sober and then the second he became immortal again practically no one cared about his safety or wellbeing…) :(
@@Justhppy2behere klaus was definitely left behind this season and really had no purpose. I HATED the entire time he was “kidnapped” and I really felt like people weren’t taking the fact that he was SA seriously at all… that was not entertaining to watch and it was so sad seeing how much progress he made..only for him to chose drugs over money which would have paid for his freedom. It just seemed like they didn’t know what to do with him. 😣
@@outofcontextscenes fr!! it’s insane to me that NONE of the siblings followed klaus when he left the group, checked in on him or bothered to care where he was or see what kind of trouble he was in. like thank god allison cared enough to look for him, but it is SO disappointing that they threw that half assed one episode storyline in for him when it ultimately didn’t change his character at all. i lowkey wish they kept klaus sober the entire season, or at least had more episodes to explore his drug addiction which is what it felt like they were going for. i honestly just think there weren’t enough episodes to flesh his or any of their storylines out at all. everything was completely rushed this season. and the ENDING?? like BYE, i guess the entire show didn’t happen, so none of it matters anyway??? helpppp none of it makes senseee 😭 like those kids should NOT be alive if their parents never existed!? so much potential went down the drain this season cause they just wanted to finish the show regardless of if it made sense or not. :/

I honestly wish all of the siblings had gotten to PROPERLY say goodbye to each-other and like talk more about their feelings a little more at the bare minimum, but we didn’t even get that. Crazy work. 😭
It had an enormous amount of problems, but I enjoyed it regardless, it was all good fun Also, what was with all the eff bombs this season? They hardly ever said it in the earlier seasons
I'll miss them forever ❤.ok i know this season was so bad in many many really many ways, ( the hype i had from the interview.....) but there is one big hole...why did they showed us 2 Ben in the end of season 3 if we got just one this season ? I don't know but i think that something happened during the writing of the season because there are to many question unanswered to many mid way to keep the plot going it seemd like it was rushed but really rushed ( i just can't belive the didn't have any other idea, after all the went trought they just die? really ? That was so not necessary...really guys i don't know what the hell happened. The best things of the entire season were jean and gene and also the baby shark moment ( that was hilarious for me ). Well what else to say 2 years for this but it's done so just appreciate the work of the cast and the journey we've been trought, it's been wonderfull. Brellies so long ☂❤
This season may he full of wth moments but it was obvious when they said theg are going past the source material at this point its just dumb and hilarious and its enjoyable in a stupid different way. Dont take everything so seriously
