I actually think Robert is closer to being Klaus than Nathan. He's said himself that Klaus is a lot wilder and that he really likes that and Robert gives off that vibe. Edit : Not in that he's a drug addict obviously, just in that he's got a wild personality. Let me rephrase: Robert reminds me of sober Klaus in many ways.

In the comics it explains that Grace did give him a name but he actively rejected it. He's accepted 5 as his name and embraced it which is why he doesn't use something else the way the others do.
