Asalamulikum Dear Shayk, Thank you so much for all of your lectures and your service of the deen. I am always looking forward to your videos and would love to visit your mosque one day inshAllah. I just wanted to make a little note that while a majority vote did happen in Tr and re-elected the president, many people still suffer at his hands. Many outstanding individuals who had to make hijra or are still trying to escape tr have suffered and are currently oppressed by him and the gov. Women, babies, professionals, doctors, teacher /university professors, journalist, police etc have been placed in jails as political prisoners. I have the highest respect for you so yes Muslims want places where they can be Muslim but at the same time they also want justice, not forced oppression from those leaders who are also Muslim. Thank Allah for you, may Allah make you and your family successful in this life for the best success in the Hereafter.
Wa Alaykum beloved and thank you for your comment. I am not familiar enough with his politics to support or critique him. The passing reflection was simply an opinion of some experts as to what drove the people to pick him over his political opponents. Definitely shouldn’t be taken as an endorsement or testament to how well he measures against Islam’s principles as a whole, it’s standards of justice, or even it’s best leaders throughout history. Salaam Alaykum, Sh. Mohammad Elshinawy, I must say that you are a well-educated gentleman. You usually prepare or do your homework before you go to the public arena, unlike many of us. In this Khudba, you talk about the Turks' attitude towards Islam in the first quarter of the last century (1940s). What you've missed out on is how the officials of the time in Turkey got there! I am assuming you're a Palestinian, if not an Arab. It was your forefathers who've betrayed Muslims and Islam by siding with the British and French Empires. It was in Gaza, Palestine, the same Gaza, that Arabs, mainly Palestinians, were shooting the Ottoman soldiers with the order of the Brits. Until we talk about that betrayal, we cannot talk about the Young Turks, who were atheists or agnostics and associated Muslims with being backwards because they could defend their territories, and the propaganda of the Europeans got to their minds. It was Arabs who betrayed Islam and Muslims back then. It's the Arabs-Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia-that are betraying the Muslims. It's the Palestinian Authority (PLO) that has been betraying its own people. As an educated Shaykh, you have the responsibility to tell the whole story. Your viewers are mainly uneducated, untrained university students or graduates. Let them know what happened in the past. So, they know what is going on now well. Cheers, ab
Thank you for your comment my brother. I have shared that story 5 or 6 times in the last month, in at least 4 masajid and several online classes. This simply was not the context for it and would detract from the theme of the conclusion. May we never side with anyone at the expense of the Truth Allah loves and will ask us about.

I’ve never believed a side apart from what Allah said: Take the Haq side. I adhere to that advice from Allah. It seems to me that you implied that I was supporting the Turkish government. I despise the Turkish officials in the period you mentioned in your remark in the video. And I dislike the current one. I was merely making an observation about the missing point in our narrative. If we want to understand how we’ve gotten to this point where we cannot defend our children and ladies, we must go back to our recent history. That is what I did. I wish Shaykh had told me. I wish I had read it in a book. I love the Turkish people. I love (even more) the Palestinians. I must add to the foregoing two sentences just in case some readers misinterpret my last paragraph.
