The Uncertain Future of Shurnukh Residents, Caught Between Their Lost and Newly Received Homes
On June 16, 2024 Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan handed over the keys to the newly built houses in Shurnukh to the residents two years and seven months later than initially planned.
Here is what our students discovered during the investigation:
The RA Government
🔸 constructed 13 houses over a period of three years and three months,
🔸 spent 60-65 million AMD for each house,
🔸 missed the deadline five times,
🔸 paid 93 million AMD in compensation to residents who lost their homes,
🔸 violated the terms for single-person urgent procurements,
🔸 built houses that lack drainpipes,
🔸 spent almost double the initial budget.
