My sister was on the show in 1973. I was very young but still remember sitting in front of that big tube television and my dad pointing my sister out to me. Wow! I blinked my eyes and now I am old. LoL!
Loved this show as a kid. I hate to think of the uproar it would cause today because the show started with the Pledge of Allegiance and ended with a prayer song. So sad that kids shows like this are not on anymore.
I was on Uncle Al. Well, sorta. I remember being there with my siblings. I would not go on the stage because I was afraid. So, I sat in audience with the parents. Near the end of the show Uncle Al came out into the audience and sit me up on his accordion and had me kiss the wolf puppet. I recall bing shy and a bit embarrassed and I grabbed onto the wolf and kissed him and wouldn't let him go. They had to pull me off him. I would love to see that clip LOL
I was on this show back about 1954. I remember them giving us Barq's root beer bottles and then taking them away from us. ha The guy was a local institution.
@TinaFallis That's interesting information. I can't find anything on the net that says she was their daughter. Can you provide supporting info or had you just heard that somewhere?
