I bought this album at the Record Runner on the SU Hill, Syracuse, NY. Not knowing Jesus Christ by faith at the time, merely seeking quality bluegrass, back in '77. Little did I realize until '83, that He was seeking me.
December 1963 was the recording date for this album... *after* a Christmas party!. Carter had laryngitis, so (except for "Will Miss Me?") Ralph and George and Jack stepped up vocally. Also, the only *gospel* instrumental from the Stanley Bros. is contained here.
Jack Cooke is singing tenor on the songs where Ralph is singing lead and perhaps others. I’ve heard only a few songs and I hear Jack on Have A Little Talk With Jesus and Precious Memories, for example. Thanks.
Take, I am looking back at some of your previous postings. These are typical of the songs that we sing in church. I am on the road traveling on a regular basis. One of these days, I will figure out how to listen to these great songs on my phone as I travel.

Wasn't this recorded during the time Shuffler was singing lead mostly? Sounds like him doing the lead as opposed to Carter on some of the tracks I've listened to so far.
Sounds like Ralph is playing a flathead instead of an archtop on some of these tracks. Unclouded Day sounds like Judy Marshall is doing back up vocals. Is George Shuffler playing the Merle Travis style lead guitar on I am A Pilgrim?
