The Srixon seemed arrow straight with each tee shot and at its price point it seems a clear winner. The Titleist however has the performance to match its outstanding appearance and the brand is pure class IMO. A great video. Thanks.

I put a Calloway Mavrik in my bag this season, and I'm very happy with it. I'll be using it for at least a few years, before I change it out. got the driver and a 3 hybrid for the price of a new paradym, so I'm not bothered by being out of fashion.

I have the Titleist TSR2 driver, and preferred it to all of the drivers I tested. It was the longest and straightest for me. Didn't like the looks of the Ping driver, and never got along with the TaylorMade Stealth, and I've had the TaylorMade M2 and M3 drivers in my bag in the past. Like you, I found the TSR2 to have the classic Titleist look at address, and the performance was outstanding!

I have just bought the Ping G430 and love it. I have really struggled to hit a driver for years and whilst I don't have your distance from the first time I hit it at the fitting it went straight which was exactly what I needed. I tried other drivers but the Ping just suited me and I think that's the most important aspect of choosing your clubs....great review by the way.

I have gamed the TSR2 this season and its great to hit and looks the part. It may cost £100 more than the Srixon but you can pay that these days for a round of golf at some courses; so to me its value for money as it puts a real smile on my face every time I hit it

I went in on a fitting and tried them all on a shaft that was determined to work the best for me at swing speeds of 105. The callaway was good but as seen here, shorter than the rest. I absolutely hated the shape of the Taylormade and just could hit it. Hit cobra well but again, shorter than the Ping and Titliest. All heads I tested were the LS models ( low spin). The only difference for me between the TSR3 and the G425 LS was about 2 yards carry which the Ping made up for in roll out. I ended up going with the Ping as it was on sale but did not buy from the place of fitting as I could not see paying 1300 for just a driver. So I ordered the Ping with stock shaft on sell, sold the stock shaft and put that towards the shaft that fits me perfectly. It still cost me 800 with taxes, shipping, ect. 700 with the stock shaft sold. But that’s still saved me a ton in order to upgrade my iron.

Great content as always Alex! I like the new drivers when I go demo them at my local club during Demo Days but honestly I don't think the tech has changed that much in drivers over the last 5 years other than the Stealth carbon face. Honestly I still rotate between an old Titleist 905r, a Callaway Epic Flash, and a TaylorMade M1. The only things I've changed on the TaylorMade and the Callaway are the shafts and they now play just as good as the old Titleist!

My cobra F9 goes no further than my Cleveland Custom Classic but I am now over 70 so maybe it's just me getting old 🙂 For testing, I would love to know the true loft of each club because I doubt they are all exactly 9.5 degrees. I think the lofts can vary by +/- 1 degree so you could easily be comparing 10.5 to 8.5

I have the Callaway Paradym driver which was an upgrade from my Callaway Maverick. The process of of picking this driver is much more patterned to my needs. First I’m a shorter than the average player which translates to a little flatter swing. 2nd, I have enough clubhead speed which puts me in between a stiff snd regular shaft. 3rd I don’t just replace a driver because a new one is out with only cosmetic changes. I ask my equipment guy for many years if there are any tech change on the new versions. Is the MOI (moment of inertia) updated? The location and size of the sweet spot on the face of the driver larger than the previous model? Last if my club head speed improves with new shaft tech. This has been by guidelines for switching from a driver that still works for me. For my irons, I still have my Mizuno JPX tour blade. I change irons every 10-15 years if the tech changes. The last was moving from square to V grooves. Other than that most irons are cosmetic changes only.

I'm excited about the new channel. As to the question of Titleist v Srixon, I'd choose the one I felt more confident with while standing at address. $100 more for three yards seems steep if I like the way the Srixon looks more than the Titleist, but I would have no qualms paying it if the Titleist won the eye test.

Back in the day when Ping were engineering the G400 series, the LST head hit the Goldilocks numbers … ie. anything exceeding that data was illegal. The G400 Max was close but has a much larger MOI so more forgiving. Unless you need movable weights… nothing legally can outperform a G400 LST. Funnily enough they are still pricey used 😀

This is a good comparison of the "more forgiving" heads of each brand. How about the players version heads (Lower spinning heads). Late last year I was custom fit on Trackman indoors for TSR2, it outperformed my 2016 M2. A few months ago i went in for a custom fit for TSR3 and it out performed the 2. Best driver ive ever played and ive been playing nearly 30 years ! Better sound/feel and slightly more ball speed then the 2. They're so good i custom ordered TSR3 3 & 5 woods also. Always difficult to make a decision on a new driver, particularly as the prices the manufacturers ask are around £500. I recently bought a nearly new PXG driver for £110 on eBay. Being left handed makes trying out clubs difficult even today. My only concern was whether the 12 degree loft would be a benefit or negative. Happy to say it’s a big positive.

I have all 3 of the new paradym drivers, I’m around a 10 handicap and ended up with the triple diamond. For feel, sound, dispersion, and distance, it was the best in IMHO. My least favorite was the standard paradym. The feel was just sort of hard , and stiff compared to the triple diamond and the X. I think it has something to do with the extra metal used in the back for the sliding weight, and it didn’t really change anything when it was moved.. The paradym x felt similar to the triple, diamond, but I can’t get along with offset or draw bias clubs. If your normal miss is to the right the X would be a great club, but I.Ike to look at a straight top line at address. I wish Alex would have tried the other 2 as well to give Callaway a better shot at distance and dispersion.

I’ve played most of those drivers and agree as far as distance. But my gamer is the Ping Max. Unmatched is forgiveness and dispersion

Playing TSi2 with project x hand crafted shaft. Love it, but it’s got an odd sound now. Sort of like the sound of a breaking wooden tee, but I pay pink stepped tees. Strange. Can’t see anything obvious. Maybe the PXG 0311, Tsr2, or Ping are calling me? 🤔

For me... I hate srixon... that was out... titleist... I wanted to like it but it was just way too heavy for me to swing fast... felt like the club was piss ass slow and distance showed that. stealth 2... ahhh sweet spot for me at 53yrs and 265yrds.... love it. I drove 3 greens at 300 even with wind help about 15mph.

All these young youtubers today have no clue how much we all wanted that ting sound back in early 2000s. That meant you had the new aerospace titanium faced clubs. Only the most expensive had that sound. The rest of us had to make due with steel faced clubs that sounded like hitting the ball with a fence post. Now the new clubs all seem to have gone back to that lower thunk sound and I am not a fan. I love the sounds of the cleveland drivers, srixon is a cleveland. I want people to hear my 210 yard drive on every hole of the course I am walking through the woods at. Good news for me is that I am still playing a 2008ish club. So I still get that beautiful ting sound.

1997 Taylormade Ti 9.5* bubbles shaft. If I still had that club today, I'd still be using it.

For sure. Buddy had one when it came out. Meanwhile I was swinging my fence post till I got a full set of 1999 Cleveland ta5 gold. Actually still playing them. Swapped out the woods but still playing the irons.

Now that Ben Hogan golf is open again, it would be to see some comparisons with their drivers. $349 is quite a bit better price point.

If you hit the Paradym Triple Diamond it would've added 20 yds though a little harder to hit.

Would love to see you test some of the self-proclaimed slice fixing drivers, like the Maxvert or SF1 being touted by the likes of Hank Haney etc. Do they work or are they just hype?
