Hope you guys enjoy! And thanks for stopping by. Also yes I know I labelled the Pikmin 3 captains wrong! I was editing this very early into the morning so cut me some slack
You forgot pikmin bloom. Bloom and pikmin 3 deluxe sales kind of confirmed pikmin 4 actually being a thing soon, bloom wouldn't have been created if pikmin wasn't profitable.
@@TheUnknown-kw3fl That's true, I didn't include it as it was a mobile game but I do agree that it did a lot for the franchise based on how popular it was
Pikmin 4 is definitely our best chance to prove to Nintendo this is a franchise worth investing in. If it sells well, like REALLY well, Pikmin 5 may not take 10 years to arrive!
2023 is probably one of the best years for Nintendo ever. I mean Super Nintendo World just opened, the Mario Movie is releasing, Tears of the Kingdom is releasing, and finally Pikmin 4 is releasing.
@@Legend-of-Kai If you ask me 2011 to 2015 were great, 2016 was lacking, 2017 was great, 2018 to 2021 was lacking, 2022 was very good, and like I said this year is going to be great.
I was a huge Pikmin fan since day 1 as an 11 year old in 2001 who wanted the GameCube more than the PS2. I am so happy to finally see Pikmin gain a fanbase because for the longest time every time I would bring up Pikmin being one of my favorite games I would get a “what’s Pikmin”. I’m so happy 2023 finally gave Pikmin a fanbase
@@Legend-of-Kai I genuinely believe that if Nintendo didn't go with the dumb decision of using mini DVDs instead of normal sized DVDs, it could have been the best console ever
The 3 endings in pikmin 1 aren't based on the number of ship parts, but rather if you got all 30, if you got all the necessary parts or if you missed at least one necessary part.
@@Quackra Interestingly, it just tells you that you might not need every part. It doesn't bother to tell you which specific parts aren't necessary; that said, the skippable ones are usually attached to harder challenges (a relay of all three Pikmin types, extensive use of Candypop buds, the final boss . . .)
@@QuackraNot much telling you, but Olimar just backhandedly commenting such a thing, without ever actually informing the player what the "non" mandatory parts are.
My mom was a fan from the start, getting Pikmin (Gamecube), Pikmin 2 (Gamecube), Pikmin 3 (Wii U), and Pikmin Bloom. She is also planning on getting Pikmin 4. I have recently 100% Completed Pikmin 2, I am now completing Pikmin 3, and next is Pikmin. I will also complete Pikmin 4 once it is released and I complete the other games.
Interesting order you're playing them in! Not that there's any real way to play them as long as you're enjoying the games thats all that matters. Pikmin 4 is going to be great.
I love Pikmin and I’m looking forward to Pikmin 4. I also hope we can eventually get remasters of Pikmin 1 and 2 similar to Metroid Prime Remastered. The original two games would look so good with updated textures and graphical improvements.
They for sure would. Especially Pikmin 2 which is my personal favourite, idk what it is about that game but it somehow stood out among the other games.
Pikmin 2 has always been my fave and I love Pikmin 4 resembling 2 with many things returning (purples whites and caves as well as enemies which were criminally removed from 3)
@@Legend-of-Kai agreed! I would dare to say Pikmin 2 singlehandedly gave us 2/3 of the series' lore and enemies. I played the 3 main games and the deluxe and still prefer the second game.
@@RodH-pj1py Second game is king haha. I was pleasantly surprised with Deluxe. Never owned a Wii U to play the original Pikmin 3 but I found the new captains and Pikmin a joy to play as. Although of course I missed the unique enemies and caves of Pikmin 2 a lot.
I think IPs like Pikmin and Metroid are gonna pop off with their next installments. They both suffered from either being released on failed hardware and/or not being promoted enough. Pikmin 3 Deluxe did relatively well in sales and getting a brand new installment on a successful platform will propel it past being a niche IP. I see it selling at least 5 million.
Very solid video, but filled with several noticeable errors, like not knowing the exact details on how to beat the original game or the many errors with the player character names and identities (like calling Louie "Louise", or switching Alph and Charlie's names). Perhaps take more care with stuff like that in the future, but besides that the structure and style of the video was very good.
Hey thanks for the advice! Yeah some poor mistakes on my part especially the mixing up the editing on the names and such. I'll definitely take more care in the future on things like that. Appreciate the constructive criticism though and hopefully you enjoyed the video regardless!
I feel like Nintendo marketing it more than the other games make it gain relevance. I didn’t know it existed until Pikmin 4s trailers and now I love it
I played Pikmin 3 when it first came out on the Wii U, but I only played it up to the Formidable Oak stage. The Formidable Oak stressed out 13-year-old me to the max, and I was satisfied with what I had played of the game up to that point, so I left it that. Never beat the final boss. Fast forward to Pikmin 4's announcement. It rekindled my interest in Pikmin. Made me want to go back to Pikmin 3 and beat it once and for all. In my excitement, I also discovered that the first two Pikmin games (which I had never played) were available on the Wii U eshop. I decided to play the games in order to work up to Pikmin 4. I can now proudly say I've done that! And I am now thoroughly obsessed with Pikmin! Pikmin 3 even ended up being my favorite after all of that. The final boss fight was brutal, though. I'm actually glad I didn't attempt that when I was 13.
Pikmin as a young kid was definitely something else. Trying to understand the mechanics and how to use all the different Pikmin was actually pretty hard not to mention it was super sad seeing Pikmin get eaten or crushed...Cool to see you've become a fan though! The franchise definitely deserves recognition as its one of the most creative and unique Nintendo IPs.
@Legend of Kai Yeah, I remember also sticking to just one captain as much as possible when first playing Pikmin 3. I couldn't handle going back and forth between three of them. Playing the games in order was super helpful in that regard. I feel like I ended up playing these games at the perfect time.
@@chandler2581 Everytime is the perfect time to play Pikmin! But yeah each new game they added a new captain to switch to haha. Pikmin 2 is my favourite of the series, I think it was just the perfect amount of stress, excitement, fun, and gameplay overall. But all the games are great.
3 things 1. You need 25 specific ship parts in Pikmin 1 not just any 25. 2. You called Louie, Louise. And 3. You called Alph, Charlie and called Charlie, Alph. Great video but I just wanted to mention those 3 mistakes for the people new to Pikmin.
Bruh, I cried inside when Pikmin 3 released and I didn’t have the Wii U, but I refused to get that console. The switch is hardly a favorite but I couldn’t resist getting Pikmin 3 delux! I could finally play my beloved Pikmin 3. Can’t wait for Pikmin 4!!
Haha yes I didn't own a Wii U either so thank god they released Pikmin 3 deluxe. I had played Pikmin 1 & 2 all the way back on Gamecube and loved them.
I had the opposite I played pikmin 3 on the wii U but my wii U pad broke so I couldn't finish my first playthrough. I bought switch pikmin 3 deluxe and I gotta say even tho the controls feel different still better than wii U lol
I just got pikmin 1 and 2 after loving the demo for 4, I've never played these games before but I am 100% ready to pay the 170 dollars to play the whole series on switch
What I'm worried about is that the series might not survive once Miyamotto step down. The series only survived thus far because it is his passion project and he's getting really old now. So Pikmin 4 might just be his last game if 5 take as long to make as the last two games.
Fair point, I just said that as a little joke in the video. Honestly at the time it was a strange statement as many believed the game would be released soon haha
I pre-ordered PIKMIN 2 and remember how excited i was when it arrived in the mail. Then i never bought a WiiU because i was at college and couldn't afford it. I didn't play Pikmin 3 until it was released on switch. The big gap and a weak console absolutely is the only reason i took such a long break from Pikmin. I was still calling it my favorite game through the whole gap period.
Definitely just makes me wanna spend the day gaming 🎮 How long you been playing? Saw your page and had too show another Creator some love 🙏🏾 Keep at it!!
Just gaming in general or since pikmin? I've been gaming most my life my friend. Thanks for the support us fellow creators gotta stay strong and push on!
If only you give me too much credit. Reality is I was recording and editing well into the early mornings and just had idiotic moments 😅 but hey maybe I'll try those methods in the future haha
I did consider it but thought as it was a mobile game like Pokemon GO I wouldn't address it in this particular video. It did without a doubt help in the future progression of the series though I won't deny that.
Think the unexpected part is after 10 years of nothing the franchise stronger than ever. Most other franchises that are gone for 10 years never return.
@@Legend-of-Kai haha nah I’m sure dude. Just teasing, and I figured it was a funny way to tie in what the president says to Louie 😎 Great video man. Got me hyped and hopeful to see Pikmin on the rise once 4 drops!
You gotta also commend the community in that, even in the years of Pikmin game drought, Romhacks, and completely new pikmin fan-games were made just to keep having fun. There's even a Rom being worked on that completely reworks pikmin 1 into pikmin 2's engine. All based on love for a niche game that finally is seeing the love it deserves.
