These were recommended to me by a buddy who plays a lot of pickleball. I usually don't wear Sketchers but they seem to be really well made shoes for Pickleball. I'll test them out. Also, i got the black ones because the other colors were too colorful for my taste.
Hey Stewart, both shoes I have tried in the past. They are great shoes for the first 1-2 weeks. Then unfortunately the sole foam gets super thin. For some reason, their foam doesn't do great with retention.
@@Prince_of_pickleball thanks so your saying this about the Head and Babolat? I will be using these for strictly Pickelball so any suggestions would be appreciated
The Asics gel res’s are among the best shoes I have ever used. I loved them for many years and used them through high school and college tennis. Asics are having a real issue with the supply chain at the moment. Covid put a 🔧 in the works. So I haven’t gotten my hands on a pair in close to 2 years. The price point of the Asics is getting higher and higher. They are now pushing $150 a pair. I’ve enjoyed the sketchers as they are affordable at $115, but haven’t compromised much on quality.
Can you comment on how you tie the heel lock? I feel my foot slide a bit in the shoe, but probably because I didn’t do the heel lock lacing at the top properly. Also, do you at all feel the soles are pretty firm/don’t bend very easily? Only wore them once so far, so maybe I’m judging too soon. Thank you for the review!
Hello Tanner, the shoes will ease in regards to their stiffness. Take about 4-5 times for them to adjust to your foot. This is quite common in pickleball and tennis-designed shoes. I’ve used the lace-locking method for years. I couldn’t recommend it enough. You must put the lace on the top two holes on the same side. Do this on both sides of the shoe. Then make small bunny-like ears with the laces. Then feed the laces from the other side of the shoe and pull. Tie typically; my advice is to pull up and down a few times on each side before you tie the lace. This will ensure a solid hold.
I bought a pair of these, it took over seven weeks to get delivered from California to Southern Ontario. I had ordered and number 8 size wide fit. They are neither wide or archfit. They have a problem with being not wide and I have a bunion that rubbed it raw. The arch fitsole give you no support other than what you get from a regular good running shoe. My right foot developed plantar fasciitis. They are very expensive in Canada. I got a better fit from Fayetteville they are definitely wide with elastic shoelaces they are snug fit they have enough room that I took out their insults and put my prescription insoles in with lots of room and support. As far as I'm concerned Skechers are overpriced and overrated.
Was this a sponsored review (like you got them for free)? I got the more expensive Asics Gel Resolution 8 and was underwhelmed by the cushion, concret felt hard. Maybe I'm too used to running sneakers.
Thanks for the review. I just received mine as well. Went with the all white. Would love to see additional color ways too. But I believe those should be coming later in March. I currently wear the Lotto Raptors Hyperspeed. I’m a Sz 11. the Viper Court pros came in at 14.3oz and the Lottos at 15.8oz. I removed the stock insoles on the Vipers and put in the Pinnacle Pro Insoles and the weight jumped up 1.5oz. With that said this is a large improvement over the previous version. I did not like the fit on the other Viper shoes and this Pro version is what those should have been. I still think the Lottos are more “plush” out the box but these aren’t far behind. I’m excited to get more time with these on the court.
