After Ms. Kimi Gray D.C. Housing Authority BETRAYED Redevelopment Promises in 2012, the DC Housing Authority received a GRANT from its federal counterpart to redevelop the property. The DC Housing Authority CANCELED the master development agreement WELCOME TO HELL,” says.Kenilworth Courts resident Sheila Herring shuffling up the narrow cement stairwell of an apartment building on Quarles St. NE.

I met this guy in the 1990's while in DC one and he was 60+ years old back then. He told me he never ever seen a plane in the sky until he was in his early 20's because he had never ever left DC EVER (not even going to MD or VA) until he was like 21 or 22!!!!! He said he first saw a plane in the sky when he went to Richmond VA. It was very hard for me to believe this but back then maybe even now planes could NOT fly over DC.

From suburban Pennsylvania originally and still remember and think about Ms. Gray's example. I remember her advocating for folks to buy their housing. Her appearances on television or reading articles about her works in the newspapers where informative & inspiring. Sad whenever I ask people if they remember her and they don't; she was such the example of self-sufficiency. Anytime I'm in DC, she's the person I think about to this day. This is necessary history to perserve. 🤗💛💜🖤🤗

This Was such a beautiful documentary on Miss Kimi she was The Glue to Kenilworth I didn’t know how much she put that foot work in to Build a legacy to help folk turn there lives around, she did so much to uplift our people out of poverty I won’t ever forget how as youngsters I used hang out there after school going to Roper and just loving being in the projects it was different there was no violence everyone treated each as family, also she took a lot of Kids down Tampa Florida to Play Ball 🏀 and we stayed in a Five Star Hotel and had the time of our life she gave everyone 125.00 spending money 💰 and we different people from different projects as well it was my first traveling 🧳 out of dc she embedded hope and love in the youth and anyone she was around she was a Queen 👑

RIP to Ms. Kimi Gray but I would also like to recognize Ms. Gladys Roy that was also in the video. Kenilworth was her everything, knew the history of Kenilworth all the way back to before the bridge that went to Roper. Didn't take no mess and was a faithful member of the Mennonite church on Douglas st. And last, but certainly not least, I would like to recognize Mrs. Stanley who lived on Anacostia ave. She was the same as the ladies mentioned and could play a mean hand of cards (and Jone on you at the same time).
