A truly delightful peek into Oliver's world. What a lovely guy, and I agree, he surely lived every moment of his life to the max. So much more satisfying to go out like a huge firework, flare, illuminating everything and then gone, rather than sputtering along like a cheap candle. Reaching retirement and being too sick and weak to enjoy all the stuff you should have spent your life doing. You will NEVER be forgotten Ollie. Only missed and irreplaceable. xx
I think he was the best looking man ever ,he was so damn handsome with his devilish character and good looks. I cried when he died would have loved to have met him RIP dear Olly we all miss you so much X :(
God Bless you dear boy! Ten years today, missed as much as ever, it was a privilege to be in your company, gone, but never forgotten........................
@RTFishall I did many deliveries to his house, ollie was a true gent. great to see your comment on here.. RIP ollie you ploughed through life's normality!
He did appear to be very intelligent, and somewhat nice.Though he could be crude towards women. His scar gave him that extra character ommph.Hubba,hubba.:)
He may have aged and died way before his time, but he looked younger than many other people his age at the time of his death, and physically he was still very robust. Most people who live long lives nevertheless tend to become a bit frail in their 40s or 50s, but he was still so strong that he managed to vanquish five sailors at arm-wrestling on the night of his death!
Bloody marvelous! The last of the real lads........................pick up "Hellraisers" a good read about Ollie, Dick, Masher & O'Toole, I think I will now have a drink, how sad are the lot of new young actors, such nancys, afraid of offending anyone, Oh Ollie, where are ya when we needs ya?
You forgot to mention he played the best werewolf of all time. I don't know which I would be more scared of... a drunk and pissed off Oliver Reed, or the Werewolf.
Ollie and Ian McShane actually appeared in a film together - Sitting Target - the first film in the UK to be given a certificate X for it's violent content. Well worth seeking out if you can find it.
I saw a vid on here of Ollie Reed strutting across the stage on a talk show with his trousers down around his ankles. Hilarious but now I can’t find. Anyone help me locate? Thanks
could have been one of the greatest film stars of all time...for reasons that are not his fault, failed to reach the pinnacle...however, what he did accomplish, to me, puts him in at least the top 10 male film actors of the twentieth century...but the film roles he missed out on create a huge void. there was never a better presence in front of the camera, save for giants like errol flynn and brando. i just wish we had more
Search for OliverReed dot net (Thats OliverReed followed by a dot followed by net) Why can't I type the address in directly into this comment? Grrrr! Anyway, it has a full filmograpghy and huge gallery too.
STEPHANIE ELLIS I noticed his resemblance to Shatner on interviews, film and photos. Sometimes they look exactly alike and behave alike. Funny you noticed
