I knew someone was going to say this. There IS an actual Yoruba religion aside from Yoruba culture and THAT is what Lee dabbled in. I did a whole slide breaking down the differences between the two but for some reason the ads wouldn’t run with it included in the video. 🤷🏾‍♂️ But yes I’m aware that the Yoruba people themselves practice a wide range of religions. There’s been debates online for years about it. And I agree that between IFA divination and Santeria, it’s some heavy stuff to jump into if you don’t know what you’re doing. I truly believe he was seeking enlightenment and had the best of intentions for what it’s worth.

As a Yoruba lady I can say there is in fact a Yoruba religion. It’s a polytheistic one, which I do not subscribe to. But it is an actual religion with its own rights and practices

The collective term for the spiritual beliefs of derived from Yoruba people is called “Isese”. I believe it covers all the Yoruba ATR denominations (Ifa, Lukumi, Candomble, Umbanda, etc). I've never heard anyone say “Yoruba religion”.

This is common with medication. Most have side effects and sometimes the side effects are worse than the temporary relief.

EXACTLY! I struggle with that as well. I was taking medication for bi polar and depression as well not only was it triggering suicidal thoughts, they had me feeling very lethargic. I just wanted to sleep all day, but the bills don’t get paid if I don’t go to work, so I ended up no longer taking them. That medication does not help at all.

As a young black boy who loved this show growing up, I distinctly remember not giving a single f about his skin color...but liking him simply as a character. His race never entered into my mind as a youth, much less give me pride for being a black boy like he was cause that's not an achievement. Shame on you for that ret@rded and racist take.

@@Ty-nf5gd I watched it as an adult because I was interested in what our Black children were being given to watch and was pleasantly surprised by Jett Jackson. Not only was he a smart, cute, young man ... he was cast as the hero and his friends looked up to him. Also his mother, father and grandma were strong Black characters with pro Black sensitivities. During that time, Jett Jackson was a pleasant anomaly. I looked forward to seeing him as a strong lead in future roles, but then I saw him playing a side kick to two white women and was sad that he couldn't be a bigger star on his own, and I am sure he felt the same way about his career. Disney being the devilish entity that is has always been, (remember Antoinette Funicello) and racist, yes I said it, cannot be dismissed as culpable in this brilliant man's demise.

Same. Every time I'd complain about how crappy they made me feel they'd either try to UP the dosage or switch me to a different med. When I told them I'm not depressed but my anxiety is out of control they'd try to give me even more antidepressants. Told them I couldn't sleep and you wanna take a guess at what they tried to prescribe? Lol If you guessed MORE antidepressants then you're absolutely correct. I finally just said screw it and stopped taking everything cold turkey. My anxiety is still a beast but at least I don't feel like a zombie.

This is a dangerous outlook to have and it's more dangerous to advertise this "belief" your meds aren't working not because "THEY" added something ( there's no They you need to go outside and touch grass if you believe the medical system is out to get you) but that your taking the wrong meds. Please don't spread misinformation we already have people not taking mental Illness seriously to begin with! but to demonize the ones who are trying to help us is crazy!

Switch your meds up if you can. A diet high in Omega 3 (Fish and Avocado) for serotonin and regular exercise helps me out a lot. Finally, I don’t know if spirituality is part of your life, but if it is, keep that on point as well.

They are not most of them are terrified what would happen to them so many celebrities had too many unsolved death happen.
