I hope you enjoy this slightly cringe but hilarious student film I worked on for an assignment back in community college and thanks again for getting this channel to 500 subscribers. :D
"The Ungrateful Son" is a fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm about a greedy man that won't share his dinner with his elderly father when he paid him a visit. Basically, the fairy tale's moral is to respect our parents and show them gratitude for the things they do for us or else that selfishness will start to manifest in ways where it'll haunt you for life. It wasn't easy looking for a fairy tale that Disney already adapted and one that had a plot that was realistic enough to film and produce in a couple of months, but we were happy with the final product and it was rejuvenating to interact with my classmates that shared a common goal.
Though I prefer the comfort of Photoshop and pixel art, I dabbled with a bit of every medium when I took classes in community college and for my interactive media course, that included using a digital camera that was a hand-me-down from my mother. My penchant for filmmaking rekindled when I recorded myself singing song covers from my phone and interacting with actors in video chats during the pandemic, though back then, the digital camera was what I used during photo shoots and recording sessions.
As part of the group project, camera techniques that were used in the making of this film were labeled. For example, there is a scene where the camera zooms in and out called a zoom shot and a pan shot was used in another to change the general direction.
