The Unguided is a five-piece melodic metal band from Sweden, formed by Richard Sjunnesson, after his departure from Sonic Syndicate. Later, he was joined by Roland Johansson (also former Sonic Syndicate singer), guitarist Roger Sjunnesson and current Cipher System bassist Henric Carlsson.
The Unguided är ett fem-manna melodiskt metalband från Sverige, bildat av Richard Sjunnesson efter att han lämnat Sonic Syndicate. Senare anslöt även Roland Johansson (också tidigate Sonic Syndaicate sångre), gitarristen Roger Sjunnesson och nuvarande Cipher System bassisten Henric Carlsson.

Ok, John was a SESSION member for The Unguided for their first concerts as well as the Nightmareland EP and the Hell Frost LP. After the release of Hell Frost both John and Henric joined the band as OFFICIAL members. A session member is a person who helps an artist out for a while, kind of the same as a quest musician. Sonic Syndicate was no longer together when he joined The Unguided, they were sort of broken up. However, when Sonic Syndicate decided to come back, John left The Unguided.

@@oa-san53 Meaning the Unguided are typically not popular (really mostly unknown) among the genres people I associate with are used to (metalcore /deathcore / progressive or people that just didn't like them because "Sonic Syndicate"). Not at all intended as a slight (though that may be how it looks in hindsight). I adore this band, their talent and philosophy of brotherhood. Since then I've won many people over to this band's amazing music.

I love how they pretty much just restarted the band as it should have been, no name record label, no pressure and it's all about the music. Congratulations to you guy's!! Had no idea SS had lost a few members so I was extremely disappointed when I heard their new songs sounded as Generic as most bands out there :( Then someone pointed me to these guys and it's like as good as the old SS. I liked them originally because of their symphonic and melodic tunes and because they were different so i'm happy there's The Unguided now :) \m/

Vocalist Roland Johansson left SS in 2009 due to issues with extensive touring. In October 2010, it was announced that vocalist Richard Sjunneson would not take part of the rest of the We Rule the Night tour to spend more time with his family. Couple of days after he announced the break was permanent, that he left Sonic Syndicate due to creative differences. Richard went on to form the new band, The Unguided, together with Roland Johansson and Roger Sjunnesson who still plays in Sonic Syndicate.
