He deserves more credit . Honestly, he’s a good hearted person that we need more examples of. I believe in karma, even if society is not giving him enough credit, God has, he has aged well with good health and with loves near him, a true simple appreciative happy person. If we all learn to be more like him, this world would be a better place more mankind.

Being “good hearted” or “nice” doesn’t cut it in global politics. Neither does being a jackarse. Still, even as one of the worst prez’s, I agree he’ll go down as wanting to do his best and THE best for the US. My reply here is as goofy/complex as Carter is! Happy Bday (2days ago) to JC!

@@makthnife some of the things he gets blamed for as being one of the worst presidents is only because he was the only one who stood up and did the right thing even though it would have negative consequences on his legacy. The first would be hiring Paul Volker to head the Fed.

Of all the presidents in my lifetime, I've never had a very high opinion of Jimmy Carter. But, I also believe he is an exceptional person of the highest character based on his proven track record over the years - in contrast to my less than substantiated negative opinion of his performance as president.

I was heartbroken when President Carter lost to Reagan, but I wasn't old enough to vote. Such a warm, decent, humble man, he lived true Christianity, as so few do. I think he had some bad luck as President- the gas crisis, and the hostage situation. But what a kind, loving man and I think, a great President!

@@GGora not joking at all, he's the only president who did not engage in any bullshit military aggression. When you look into the story you mentioned the Carter administration did not take any actual actions, Iranade up its own choices as was its right. The US had no proper role in choosing Iran's leadership, especially considering we were the ones who overthrew their democratically elected lesderbin 1953 and forced the Shah into power in the first place. That was back when Iran was very progressive and secular, the rise in extreme islamists only came in response to that

Your number 2 point, about him "going into the core of a melted reactor" is pure poppycock. Yes he was sent to Chalk River to observe/help, but he most certainly did NOT go "into a melted reactor core. That's bad even for a fiction writer. Also, he never served on a nuclear powered vessel, or complete nuclear training. The first time he set foot on a nuclear submarine, it was as President.

Next to jfk, Jimmy Carter has always been my political hero and somebody that we all should aspire to be more like in our lives. We now know through f o i a that Reagan and Bush committed treason to steal the election from him where he would have been president for sure so there are many sad and disturbing footnotes to his presidency but what is a certainty is he was and still is a great man and more importantly a true Christian. We all need to keep him in our prayers as he is going through undoubtedly a rough time on hospice. I wish he could live long enough to possibly see RFK Jr become president I think that would make him very happy

no he just had really bad luck. there were many really bad things that happened during his administration that really weren't his fault. reagan and george w bush were incompetent and despicable presidents.
