yes British looted India, but British didn't try to destroy the ancient temples in India, bcz they acknowledged the amount of wealth Indian temples get from the visitors. While Mughals destroyed almost every ancient temple in north India, looted it's wealth, committed genocides like britishers. Delhi was completely under control of Mahadji Shinde for 3 decades from 1770s to almost 1800 with the Mughal emperor being a puppet.British were defeated by the Marathas in 7 consecutive battles. It was only in the early 19th century that the British started taking over. To show that 18th century was all anarchy and "small" regional powers existed is to deliberately ignore the historical facts from primary sources.
