The Unpleasant World of Penn & Teller was a show broadcast in 1994 on Channel 4 in the UK. It mostly consisted of acts the duo had been preforming on tour in the USA, though several tricks were modified or created just for the show. It also included guest appearances by several (mostly British) celebrities.
The show, much like their stage show, was written entirely by Penn and Teller themselves and the duo even perform the theme song to the show.

Why are Magicians always so good at EVERYTHING!??!! It's like they purposely try and master everything in the world. From David Copperfield to David Blaine to Criss Angel to these guys... Almost all magicians are good at everything.

Wow. Thanks for the upload. I remember watching this when I was in London visiting from San Francisco, CA in 1996. I can't remember if I saw this on TV at the hotel (maybe a rebroadcast?) I was staying or at a friends house I where I stayed when I returned from Amsterdam. Love these guys! Thanks again.

6:22 Penn moves the card box and places his hand over a gimmick. It looks like a knife is going through his hand but really it is just a device with the card a blade sticking out and some fake blood. Meanwhile Teller is ditching the knife in his pocket, and then uses a closed fist to simulate stabbing Penn's hand. He holds his fist against the back of Penn's hand as it rise to give the impression that there is a knife handle while really there is nothing behind Penn's hand.

I couldn't resist working the trick out: @6:25 Penn uses his left hand to remove the card box which was hiding the prop card. The prop card is also positioned over a second indentation in the table. Having removed the card box with his left hand he firmly places his right hand on the prop card. I couldn't say what he uses as an adhesive, but at 6:27 there is definitely something between the card and his hand. The blade was of course recessed in the table indentation. At 6:25, Teller pockets the knife and stabs down with an empty hand, so that when he pulls away after the "attack", he's not seen to be holding anything. I don't think I've been clever, but it was fun observing how a trick is done. It's not something that I can often figure out.

it is a normal deck of cards, its the slight of hand that always puts the 3 of clubs into play, they are trying to entertain and show that magic is in your head

@hurricanejbb It's in the table underneath the card box in a carved out space, you'll notice the box is there the whole time until he moves it at 6:22 with his left hand then presses down and attaches the blade to his right palm.

Because Penn and Teller have a running joke with the Three of Clubs. Any time they force a card, it is always the Three of Clubs. Serf around other P&T videos here on youtube and you'll see what I mean. But, if they were truly unknown in the UK at this time, then I'm not sure the audience would get that joke. But that's my best guess. Amidst P&T fans, whenever you see the Three of Clubs pop up, you know Penn and/or Teller has forced it on you. That's why it's funny.

Well they weren't wrong about deserving their own TV show. They got their own Las Vegas show, their own television programs (Bullshit, Magic Mystery Tour, Fool Us, Lie To Us, & so many others), and they've improved the craft of magic over 30+ years.

The 3 of clubs is forced by a prepared deck called the svengali deck. Believe it or not half the cards in that deck are the same card.

i may have found the secret In 4:52 to 4:55 with right hand cuts the deck but with the left is reaching to his pocket for another card(the one used for trick),and hides in his palm 5:03 focus on hands as he brings in front the preselected card then he really shuffles(misleads saying false)the deck but he already knows the card 6:08 notice card in left first to be stabbed in 6:12 last part is easy,they fake the stabbing while penn holds between fingers the fake stabbed (preselected) card

Petra Gabriella Gazsó Not to pull back the curtain too far, but for the most part, what you're seeing is (almost) what you're getting. For something small like the bean in this version, they quite literally just stick a bean under their lower eyelid beforehand and then pretend to eat/snort a different one. Throw in the appropriate theatrics before pushing the preloaded object out from under your eyeball and, voila! While the object isn't actually traveling through the tear ducts or whatever else might be stated as part of the act, it really is actually coming out from underneath their eyeballs in this instance, meaning you're quite alright in being (at least) a bit squeamish about it. If it's a larger/more dangerous object such as a razor blade or something, it's pretty much just slight of hand coupled with funny angles to trick you into thinking it's emerging from the eye socket when actually it's coming out from behind strategically placed fingers.
