Israeli forces have withdrawn from three refugee camps in the occupied West Bank after a military operation that lasted over a week, resulting in dozens of deaths and widespread destruction.
The operation, codenamed "Summer Camps," aimed to dismantle Iran-backed terror networks in the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Al-Faraa refugee camps.
The main focus was the Jenin refugee camp, which Israel believes to be a stronghold of Palestinian militancy that has grown since the Hamas' attack that started the war in Gaza nearly 11 months ago. The fighting in Jenin accounted for 21 of the 39 Palestinian deaths, who local health officials say have been killed during the Israeli push in the West Bank. According to the IDF, most of them were militants.
