I thought I was done crying over jiang cheng. Turns out, I was Wrong. So very, very Wrong. The editing on this video BROKE ME it was SO GOOD and the song was PERFECT.
Not sure if one really ever is fully done with crying over MDZS in general. So many tragic and inspiring stories for so many individual characters. And gosh, thank you so much! 😭
So, so good, very well decsribes poor Jiang Cheng who never seems comfortable with himself - and as result with anyone else... Maybe exept his family but they are almost all gone :((
THIS MADE ME CRY Jiang Cheng is my favorite character, and this video really sums up why I like him so much. His story is so interesting and sad 😭 this video is amazing!!

But why He did not explain why he did lost his golden core 😑 He was just trying to protect wwx from get caught frm wen clan at the time. So sad 😢 very sad guy.
My guess would be that he finally understood just how badly WWX had suffered in the past and that since the past couldn't be changed, he figured there was nothing to be gained by telling him that other than potentially making WWX feel guilty/responsible for him getting caught in the first place. Agreed the whole situation between the brothers is just sad.
If I remember correctly, Wen Ning offered to get Jiang Cheng out of Lotus Cove after he'd been captured and brought back to it. Wen Ning puts a drug in the party wine and carries Jiang Cheng out to a hidden boat by the dock where Wei Wuxian is waiting. Wen Ning then rows the boat away, they pick up Jiang Lanli and together they head to where Wen Qing is at. Wen Qing is a physician, so she discovers that Jiang Cheng's golden core has been crushed. Wei Wuxian can't stand to see his brother suffering, so he reads all the Wen medical books until he finds one with an experimental procedure for transferring one person's core to another's body. Wei Wuxian convinces Wen Qing to do the transfer and they set up a scheme to get their sister away and a fake story to get Jiang Cheng to believe that his golden core can be restored. The procedure works, but Jiang Cheng didn't know until after the escape from the Burial Mounds when Wen Ning steps in to tell him the truth that the core he has belonged to his brother, who freely gave it to him. Jiang Cheng a.k.a The Angry Lotus is overwhelmed, especially since a few minutes before he had been insulting to both Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan. He has guilt from remembering his past words and actions towards his brother. What really hurts Jiang Cheng is that Wei Wuxian didn't keep his promise to be at Lotus Cove and help him be the clan leader for as long as Wei Wuxian lived. Together they would have been a respected and formidable pair of leaders. Jiang Cheng loved his brother and what he thought of as a betrayal just twisted him up all inside.
