This video is literally so amazing, it really highlights their relationship.Bruh their relationship is so sad. Honestly I feel like even though Jin Guangyao is the "villain" I can never hate him. In the end he did one thing right- pushing away lan xichen and he did it out of love and gratitude, for the only person in his life that looked past the rumors about him and stood up for him, and was even willing to die with him. Both of their fates are tragic.
Manipulative to the end. Xichen failed to see what was motivating and driving Jin Guangyau. Seeing someone the way you want to and disregarding the things you don’t want to see makes you blind to who they really are. JG wanted power. He wanted prestige. He wanted to never be as vulnerable as he was back in the brothel as a child. And he did hurt Xichen over and over again by hurting those he loved. And the final betrayal when he tricked Xichen to lose his spiritual power. You can’t really love another when you don’t love yourself. And JG did not love himself. Even pushing him away was because JG knew it would destroy Xichen. That now he would never forget JG.
