*[In my opinion, Gravity Falls is an amazing show with a very intriguing and mysterious lore. Like, there's a lot of easter eggs and foreshadows in the show. Sincerely, everything in this show was perfect: Stan's past, the mindblowing theories, the easter eggs and, well, Weirdmageddon. And you know what? I think the show is perfect with 2 seasons, instead of 3 seasons]*
I feel like we should respect Alex's decision to not continue the show since he was obviously tired of it and we're lucky that we got a season 2 and an ending at all. Like I know, you guys might want more but this is Alex's decision and we shouldn't encourage him to go on if he doesn't want to.
We also need to remember, Gravity Falls is rumored to be in the same universe as Star Vs. Ergo same Earth, same dimension "46'\". And with the weirdness magnetism there... It would explain so much with the boiling isle's weridness seeping into earth's dimension in that show too.. Because it's the SAME earth as in Gravity Falls... It's all connected.
Gravity Falls planted the seeds for me to want to learn to animate and theorize and research so many things I didn't know the meaning of. If it weren't for Gravity Falls, I likely wouldn't have found Hazbin Hotel, Film/Game Theory, or W. Bruce Cameron, creations and creators that helped me in the aforementioned fields. I like to say I owe my intelligence and creativity to Gravity Falls. It helped me find that cartoons could always be so much more than just moving pictures.
I understand that _Gravity Falls_ towards the second half of season 2, while amazing, was still a little bit of a sprint towards the finish line. I'm not blind to its faults - all which stem from a rushed buildup towards the finale, like underdeveloped characters or unexplored plot and character points. But, you have to respect the fact that Hirsch kept pushing forward through his personal struggles and pain to give us a great - albeit a teensy, tiny bit rushed - finale, especially when he wanted to quit after season 1.
That’s my feelings about the last season of Samurai Jack. I didn’t like the Ashi romance, I felt many plot things were iffy, and yet… It’s an ending. A CANON, FULLY ANIMATED ENDING that we could’ve easily have never gotten but we did! I’ll always be grateful for that.
I'd like to share a quote from Shmebulock in Lost Legends. "Honestly, would it kill them to give us some new adventures? After summer comes Fall, a whole new "season", if you will. I can't be the only one who wants another season, right? RIGHT?! "I've invested so much time in these characters lives, they can't just leave me! BY LUCIFER'S BEARD, WHAT WOULD IT TAKE FOR MORE GRAVITY FALLS?!?!" "But i suppose all tales must end. There is an old gnome proverb, "CGHA'KCK'URKLAAH," Which i belive translates to "Every sunset leads to a sunrise." Either that or the gnome was choking on a pine cone. Perhaps it is time for me to stop observing and start living my own stories." Take this as you will. Most will probably ignore this comment entirely. But in the end, gravity falls will never truly be over. Be it unsolved mysteries, fan fiction and art, or author leaks. It's up to this community to keep this legacy alive.
Gravity Falls was actually the first show I ever saw with an ending. To me, the ending was very well paced and didn't feel rushed. Every character choice felt right and I truly loved it. Now when other shows ended example(SVTFOE/Steven Universe) comparing them Gravity Falls was like vanilla ice cream to a GIGANTIC PUPPY SUNDAE. Choices out of character, felt so rushed, just......eh. TLDR: Gravity Falls= Best show ending I've ever watched
@•• Ughhhhhh, I keep saying "I need to watch DuckTales" but I keep putting it off even though I keep hearing how amazing it is. I gotta get on that soon
Okay so let me get this all out because this is FINALLY a video that agrees that Gideon needs more screentime. Not just because he lacked much of a role in season 2, but the fact that his on told story wasn't shown in the show. There was a deleted scene that hints that it WAS going to happen, but it never had the chance to air. Gideon is a very interesting character once you read about the little hints dropped in the journal, as well as the novels. We know why he was digging up holes around the shack, because he found journal 2 while possibly digging near his elementary school. Ford wasn't even sure a child his age would be smart enough to find it. We know that Journal 2 was a major influence on his behavior, especially with the amulet. In Journal 3, it is written that the amulet was the cause for his white hair and the corruption of his soul. "What did the novel tell us?", you might be asking. Well, he didn't exactly have much of a role in the novels either, HOWEVER there is something really important that was in the background of the black market scene... *His memories were being sold*. What makes this important is the fact that his father used to be apart of the society of the blind eye, and we already knew that Mrs. Gleeful is also a victim to the mind erasing. So this is basically telling us that Bud has been erasing Gideon's and his wife's memories for years. This along with the amulet probably were the two causes of his behavior. I've talked to many Gravity Falls fans and a huge chunk of the community isn't even aware that Gideon's innocence was literally stolen from him like this. It was because his secrets were all behind the journal (more in the limited edition too). I feel like he is underrated for this cause. Please spread awareness for this poor boy's sanity.
I'm really confused at the part where you brought up Ford bringing creatures to the Shack to show they're real. You were saying that while showing a clip from an episode showing that Dipper tried that and people couldn't handle the truth. Wouldn't it just end up a repeat episode?
@Light PhoeNyx yeah I thought that too but we see they can't handle the simplest of things and go erasing their minds, some on their own will. So I still think it would have ended up everyone being blind to them or blowing things way out of proportion. More their problem and not the execution, at least that's how I see it
For one, I took the proposal in this video to be not Ford pulling actual nightmare realm creatures, but making accurate looking figures of them. Additionally, even if they used gravity falls creatures, Ford would know how better to keep them safely. (Stan’s exhibits, albeit fake, are mostly taxidermy. Dipper tried to bring a live creature inside.)
@lezt cerdeña "Stanley, look! Giant bones! Let's make landfall there. A house is nearby." *knocking before Eda opens the door and Stanley and Eda both have faces of shock*
Can you make a theory about how the bones of the island in The Owl House could be the giant that Bat Queen was made for. Please I would love that :3 Also since Luz said that she would help the Bat Queen find her past, I think they could make a episode about that.
Agh, took me a second to process this because of all of the caps but what bat queen? I'm a bit lost but maybe that's because I didn't watch the whole thing.
gravity falls came out in 2012 . it is now 2021 and im still binge watching the entire 2 seasons on disney+ , hunting the internet for theories and easter eggs, decoding all the hidden messages, and flipping through the actual journal 3 ! gravity falls will never get old.
19:55 Wouldn't it make more sense that Ford put his focus into making sure that Weirdmaggeddon wouldn't be possible? I mean Ford was trapped in the nightmare realm for 30 years so of course he would do everything in his power to protect his dimension from a crazy dorito
@@ocelotlesbian seems like ya kinda have to deal with it. It's the internet, as long as he keeps looking like a Dorito, people will continue to call him a Dorito
This show is the only reason I read (and personally make) theories. Thank you _Gravity Falls_ You're my childhood. *my traumatic, dream demon filled childhood*
Peridot, Steven, Lars: We had the most development Mable, Dipper, Stan, Pacifica, Ford, Wendy: Allow us to interduce our selves ???: Amateurs All: What was that punk? Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland: AMATERUS
Guys I realized something.. In sock opera bill tells Mabel.. "Who would sacrifice everything they've worked for just for their dumb sibling?" think about it.. Bill destroyed his dimension because he wanted power.. But he misses his home.. His family Maybe he would sacrifice what he's worked for just to be back with his family? Maybe I'm over thinking things
While I understand that making this show was stressful for many, many reasons, it kind of bums me out that Alex Hirsch did not have the best time making it. I am very thankful for the awesome show he gave us but I also feel kind of guilty if it put that much of a strain on him.
I've always said Not What He Seems should have been the Season 2 finale (certainly felt like one if you ask me), and A Tale of Two Stans should have been the first episode of Season 3 instead. Then, by Disney's 20 episodes per season rule, they could have padded out the extra spaces with more lore drops, more character development for everyone, especially Ford, and of course more mysteries to solve. Had they done this, they would have had 18 episodes after Not What He Seems, instead of just 6, to flesh out Ford's character and really have an impact on everyone's lives, before Weirdmageddon happened. Personally I really wanted to see Gideon actually meet Ford and find out he was the author of the journals, and with 18 episodes to fill, that most likely would have happened at some point.
Gravity Falls was an amazing show, unlike any other so far. I think The RoundTable should make their own show. All the people running the channel already have so much cartoon knowledge.
I just wish we got to see more Ford & Mabel bonding episodes in the second half of season 2. It’s always been Dipper & Ford, Stan & Mabel... To me, I have always felt that Ford never really reached his full potential when it came to his family. (Dipper: It’s safe to aay that he was Ford’s main focus when it came to his family. Stan: yeah, we got some stuff. Reconciliations, Sweet moments etc. So But what about Mabel?) Yeah, he is very fond of her twin Dipper; it’s evident in TLM, DD&D & D&MVSTF, but seriously... WHAT ABOUT Mabel? We don’t see them alone together on screen, & when they do interact, I always felt that Ford acted so distant, formal & unimpressed around her. Ford did say he “liked this kid, she’s weird” in ATOTS, but that’s the only nice thing he has actually said to her pre-Weirdmageddon. Speaking of which, Ford is so worried & scared about what happens to the kids during Weirdmageddon, but why? As I said, he adores Dipper, but when did he ever get the chance to learn more about Mabel & spend time with his niece? Also, I may be the only one who thinks it nessessary, but should Ford apologise to her? Since it was partially his fault for causing her such heartache & distress. Y;know, that certain apprenticeship offer. Oh, how could I forget, “Isn’t it suffocating?!” So yea, what do y’all think? Would it have been nice if Ford & Mabel went on a mission / quest together? Maybe see them both bring out hidden aspects of each other’s personalities? Mabel’s secrecy, curiosity or bravery. Ford’s appreciation for the little, fun things, his humour or protectiveness? Maybe even learn to trust each other? Dipper didn’t really seem like the right person for Ford to share his emotional, painful & toxic past with Bill. That’s kinnda Mabel’s territory. Especially since both have a habit for constantly blaming themselves for part mistakes. That would have been a great episode or two. Oh, the same could potentially be said for Stan & Dipper’s bond, but that was touched on throughout season 1 in DVM, FF, & Dreamscaperers…
I think there should be a Valentine's Day special where we could learn more about Dipper and Pacifica's relationship. And also you could have Ford go down to the bunker only to find out the Shapeshifter unfroze himself and locks him underground, so Stan and Mabel have to get him out. They eventually have to encourage Old Man McGucket to build a invention that can free him. And at the end of the story Ford accidentally mentions Bill to Stan and Bill is born again
My thoughts? I remember reading somewhere that Bill Cipher's favorite twin was actually Mabel, I don't remember the source, but I know that it was official, not a fanon thing. I think an episode or two putting Mabel and Bill together for some whacky shenanigans to establish that as something that we can infer in show, rather than just some off hand remark somewhere would have been really good. Especially pre, or even during Weirdmageddon so the fact that Mabel was tricked by him has a deeper emotional impact on her. Like, Mabel knows that Bill is possessing Blendin and is fooled into thinking hat Bill is just offering to extend the summer as a favor for his "friend" or, and Dippy fresh is iconic don't get me wrong, imagine if Bill himself was the replacement for Dipper in Mabelland. Personally, I've always thought Mabel and Bill would have had an amazing on screen presence together and felt very validated to read that Bill actually liked her the best, it's really just a shame we didn't really see them interact as just the two of them.
@@rojoiscool3770 well if he wasn’t being so petty at the apocalypse, never thought about how splitting the twins would’ve result, but at the same time he also cares about his family and in the end cares about them
@@jordanoh659 when was he ever petty?! half of the apocalypse he was stone. not to mention, it wasn’t Ford’s fault that Mabel wasn’t happy with Dipper’s wishes. It’s obviously not easy for them to be separated, but they could’ve worked through it
THIS is why I think the GF fandom is one of the best. Yes, the Bill shippers and incest shippers can all go to Hell, but MANY fanartists and fanfic writers have been given TONS of ideas to work with, most of which is brought up in the video. More Ford bonding moments with the kids? WE GOT IT! More adventures with the two pairs of troublesome twins? WE GOT IT! Angst and fluff galore? WE GOT IT! Yes, you might have to carefully weed out the material you don't want, but once you find what you're looking for it's WELL WORTH IT!!!
I really wish the show could’ve been 4 seasons long. The end of season 2 was so rushed, and there are tons of other things they could’ve done to expand the universe and stuff, it seriously could’ve gone on for 2 more seasons. They could even make Weirdmageddon a separate movie that’s technically after the end of season 4
Gravity Falls could have had so much more, but Alex made a decision, he was tired and I was fuming about that, like "There's so much opportunity! So much more he can do to flesh out the characters!" But all that takes hard work to come up with, draw, animate and make a reality and he was tired so he made the best decision he could (adding a second season and amazing ending despite characters like Ford, Pacifica, and for some parts like the apology and make-up to Dipper, Mabel! But doing all that takes time, effort, and hard work and he was just too tired to handle it. It's sad and I agree with you all, I wish I could have that and more. But Alex was simply done. (Edit: I was there the whole time when he was making the show)
Lost Legends? Btb I disagree, they are shows that are as detailed, with equally gr8t world-building & intriguing mythology as Gravity Falls, like the entirety of Yu-Gi-Oh! (I know, this is kinda unfair as it has so many series, but that still counts), Over The Garden Wall, Ben 10 (same as Yu-Gi-Oh), Digimon (same again), Saint Seiya, Samurai Jack & some others I am just too lazy to mention. And yes, a 3rd season would've been perfect, even tho before hearing ur points I thought otherwise
i think it’s impressive how alex made something so amazing for his first tv show, that takes serious talent. i’ve watch gravity falls a good 9 times and still never got sick of it, serious skill that i could never have- respect
Technically, Dipper and Mabel have seen aliens, though they never went to space. In one of the Gravity Falls Shorts, Dipper and Mabel find a man that always faced right and reveal the left side was missing and it was just a bunch of little green men controlling the body. In Journal 3, it is hinted that the aliens could have been living among the civilians of the town. Those little green guys were obviously not human and seemed to have very advanced technology and knowledge, just like what we see the aliens had in the show.
Your idea for a Gideon episode is pretty good, but here's how I could've done Gideon's final antagonist role before the finale. Blaming Dipper for losing control of Gravity Falls, and his daughter Pacifica, the much detestable Preston Northwest is given instruction on how get revenge, starting with busting Li'l Gideon out of prison. The one giving these instructions is none other than Bill Cipher. Not only would this payoff the unresolved cliffhanger with Gideon at the end of "The Stanchurian Candidate", it would also establish a connection between the Northwests & Bill hinted at in "Northwest Mansion Mystery", like maybe Nathaniel Northwest actually orchestrated the Northwest Cover-up with help from Bill himself as part of his plan to bring Weirdmageddon upon the world. The main plot involves Wendy & Pacifica bonding over their family issues, the revelation of the Lumberjack Ghost's true identity... Archibald Corduroy, a distant relative of Wendy herself, & the two girls doing battle with either a Bill possessed Preston (Presto-Bill), a Bill possessed Lil' Gideon (Bideon), or maybe Nathaniel Northwest himself, brought back as a vengeful spirit similar to the Lumberjack Ghost, only evil & brought forth by Bill Cipher's dark power. During this battle, Ford Pines himself assists our heroines, leading to Gideon & Preston realizing the truth about the Author & Stan (which we all know at this point). And maybe a side-plot involving Blendin Blandin that leads to his deal with Bill.
i watched this a week ago and at the start the intro was awesome. wasn’t sure if i would like it, after 3 episodes i already knew i would feel empty with once it was over. and yes. i felt like bill had created an endless void that nothing will ever fill
@Derek Hottenstein I've watched all episodes to date of owl house. And id say it reminds me more of star vs the forces of evil. Just without Toffee (RIP).
I think you already solved the plotline where stan is homeless without meaning to. The idea that Ford could fix some of the mystery shack monsters and see it as a learning opportunity could lead to stan staying. He could run the business as long as the monsters are accurate while sharing the money with ford so he can have money for his experiments.
man, this show was my escape from the world or a long day at work TV series. It's on my permanent can watch it a lot of times list, up there with back to the future trilogy. I never expected to like gravity falls when it first premiered and never cared for it but i was intrigued with the humour and jokes setup and it became much more
for mabel and dipper vs the future I would've liked to see dipper be offended by the apprenticship, this would've given more depth and explore thier relationship more. some more monsters in wierdmaggedon would be nice maybe mix in some CG or something
I don't think it's wise that Ford went to see the town more often simply because Stan already stole his identity and you can't have two of the same persons roaming around the town.
I think gravity falls is great as it is,but if we did have a third season I'd want a better Pacifica redemption (and a Mabel redemption since she was pretty selfish a lot of the time). I'd also want more stuff with Ford.
I totally agree with u with screen rant, I watched secrets and things the crew doesn’t want u to know about and all of them were obvious things that were supposed to know or things that are the opposite of what the crew means. They need to watch more of the shows or just don’t make the video if u don’t know what ur talking about, when u look at the round table u can tell they have watched and rewatched the show to break down every detail that I may not notice! I was so glad someone brought this up.
I don't think that's gonna be possible , first because of different networks , disney and adult swim never had that much history together , they might throw Easter Eggs like the "Rick was here" or that morty mabel and dipper but I don't think they will ever meet , sure it's gonna be cool and since ford is just that wanted dimensional criminal just like rick they might have had a history together or would just be cool to see gravity falls and Rick and Morty in one universe , it's cool but most likely to not happen
If y’all are in need of some gravity falls/su content, then there is a fanfic on Tumblr where Steven goes to Gravity Falls for the headcanon summer that Mabel and Dipper are there.
Disney just be like: Gravity Falls fans miss Gravity Falls BUT THEIR AIM IS GETTIN BETTER, THEIR AIM IS GETTING BETTER you see it’s funny because there’ll be no season 3
The only issue I have ever had with Gravity Falls was some minor pacing issues. The worst example, to me, is going from The Last Mablecorn to Roadside Attraction. The Last Mablecorn ends with Ford and Dipper shielding the shack from Bill and Ford saying "As long as we're inside the shack we're safe" followed by some ominous Bill, and then the next episode starts with the whole family (minus Ford) leaving the shack to go on a trip that adds nothing to the plot other than another "Dipper loves Wendy and needs to move on" episode. It makes no sense to me, and every time I rewatch the series I think "maybe this time it will make sense" and then it still doesn't make sense. I don't get why that episode has to exist, especially in that placement. Like, /that's/ the last fluff episode before Dipper and Mable Vs. the Future. I think there are a lot of fluff episode ideas that would have made more sense with the timeline and the pressing business of "we know Bill is currently going after our family/the town."
In dipper and Mabel versus the future when dipper refuses fake Wendy’s offer I just realized in my fourth time watching the show that’s because she winked just like in the shape shifter episode
Hearing Hirsh saying how hard it was going through the first season that it made him feel almost "burnt out" afterwards. To that I say this; Dude, there isn't a filmmaker alive who hasn't already been there. Especially during thier very first run. Welcome to the big leagues, junior.
Well yeah, also Practicaly all what we have seen in Gravty Falls is From the Third Journal and that thing isn't even finished, so imagine what is in the other 2 Journals.
