I really appreciate these story series. It's so easy to lose bits and pieces over time and not have a cohesive timeline for a major character like Alexstraza.
Crazy good quality in both story telling and animation. The added sound fx of human/orc soldiers marching at low volume had it reminding me of the countless hours of documentaries I've watched on ancient warfare. Wish more people watched this content.
This Dragon series deserves all the views and likes cause ever episode was fantastic! Its content like this, lore talk and lore speculation, that got me into your channel back when Legion was coming out and I definitely look forward to more of it in 23 especially with how promising DF is looking.
I know it was a risk to make this series and I just wanna say thank you and your team for putting so much passion into this community! You guys are the gold standard for wow news and content creation! Keep it up! And a wonderful new year too everyone at Bellular Gaming!
These kind of series is what Warcraft needs for old and new players. We sometimes lose the story by the pace the game evolves at that it's nice to see something that recalls events and ties them together
Excellent series! I have greatly enjoyed every one of the Dragon Lore series you have put out. I hope that WoW recovers enough to allow the community's content creators and lore enthusiasts to continue covering the game. I'm amazed at how much better Dragonflight feels to the last few expansions, though I completely understand why people would be hesitant to get back into WoW. I'm hoping the game continues on the right track and some of the ex-players will give Dragonflight a chance as time goes on.
I can kinda picture it, we're fighting some boss towards the tail end of the DragonFlight expansion, and Alexstrasza is helping us, when suddenly, something happens and she goes like "You forget yourself *insert name here* I am not just the Queen, I am the LIFE-BINDER, and I BIND your life to MY will!" obviously this would be kind of out of character for Alestrasza, but with all the meddling the Titans did to the Aspects, whose to say they didnt somehow "install" a fail-safe, to make sure they act in the Titans best interests when all else fails?
I honestly prefer Korialstrasz over Alexstrasza. He also wanted to protect life, but he knew when it needed to be taken. No matter how much he loved his queen and was loyal, he knew when to take charge for the greater good. I miss him so much. He was a fantastic character. :(
Definitely, I remember in the mid 2000s when his books came out. I used to read/listen to the audio books on my way to work. Golden Age of Warcraft Lore. Then to log in the game and realize "oh crap, this is the location from the book"
If there was ever a character I would like to come back, no matter how flimsy the in-world justification was, it would be Krasus. Him and Rhonin were the best, the books starring those two are the only reason I've stuck around with this franchise as long as I have.
@@christabelle__ Me too! I was actually so, so mad. Then they had the audacity to let everyone believe he exploded himself for evil reasons?! Bruh. Please. My boy does what needs to be done. But also, can we have him back please? I feel like Alexstrasza and the entire expansion would be better if we had cantankerous Krasus there telling us how we’re doing things wrong while also guiding us to do the right thing. Kalecgos just isn’t as….good.
Actually, from all red dragon history and lore, I miss Kalenstraz. He was from classic and quite and interesting fellow in lore. Heir of Alexstraza and also was quite cool in questline in Cataclysm, but then he died from Sinestra hands... That sadly.
dragons are one of two of my favorite races in the game (second is Arakkoa) and anytime i see cool things like this, i'll always love it! This was such a wonderful series!
Love the series! Fantastic editing and soothing narration. Lore is a critical part of my WoW enjoyment so having content like this is super. That's why SL is so bad for me personally because it didn't make sense, and the horrible retconning aka destroying of lore to force the connections are unforgivable (rant over). Perhaps something about the Old Gods or Elemental Lords next time? :)
I don't have anything useful to say that hasn't been said by other people or that I haven't said on previous videos, but I really love these and would love to see more! And I'm glad you guys are in a place where you can do what you really enjoy! Also algorithm comment lmao
i never really knew they was so serious of alexstrasza being the queen of the dragons but noticing she always did somehow get all the lead rolls lol but she such a sweetheart like my baby ysera but these deadly foes she gone have to start chopping them off for good
Your'e taking the food out of the mouth of Nobbel if you keep doing this better and better. I was glued to the chair this time.. What filter do you use on your voice? This was hypnotizing in a way that made the story more interesting.
I truly believe that these series may not be a big box office hit, but are instead instant cult pieces that will definitely generate revenue over time more than other videos that cover more actual subjects. Can you imagine a Shadowlands 9.05 video making any money at 9.2? Indeed, but these videos are bound to become RU-vid/WoW history! What I'm trying to say... This content is worth the investment and everybody loves it. The World of Warcraft needs this.
I hate how ambiguous the Death Knight quest is. Choosing to destroy the eggs or not should leave to very different interactions down the line. But then they just get swept under the rug.
The Death Knight quest in Legion was really... stupid. The Ebon Blade just decides to invade the Ruby Sanctum and decimate it, just so their leader can get a undead dragon mount. At least that's how I remember it. There was no grand purpose to that quest. Nothing to attack the Legion with. Just to get one mount. I mean, I really wanted a skeletal dragon mount on my DK. There is no other one in game, except for no longer available achievement reward for hardcore PvP and PvE content way from WotLK. So I did that quest. But I hated every part of it. I mean, it was cool and flashy and all that. But I hated doing it. One thing is to play a bad guy in the sense of "ends justify the means", like Illidan for example. Another thing is suddenly playing a bad guy who slaughters for no reason other than vanity.
Just had a thought... When things die they go back to their original plane (mortals go to shadowlands, demons go to twisting nether etc) .. why did Ysera go to the Shadowlands? Since the Dragons are uplifted elementals and therefore an extension of Azeroth's world soul, wouldn't they go to the plane of order? Technically, Argus should have gone to order too, but I guess because he was corrupted with death magic he went to Shadowlands
Indeed, Alexstraza's interpretation of "life-binder" is different to Eonar's version of it... Alex seems more "Life" less the "binding" aspect, binding seems synonymous in this situation as "balance"... Alex is a great queen, and leader, but her mercy goes against her charge... anything she allows to live that may threaten the future of the world implies a future failure, of course, this would also mean that humans and dwarves were exterminated in their infancy, so, have to take one with the other... I do wonder if Alex will be 'judged' by the titans as unworthy of her role because of these supposed transgressions and she will have to defend her choices, and, humans will represent her greatest feat of mercy that will basically smooth everything with the titans...
Not sure if this is something you are interested in... but could you guys do a BASIC lore that explains WoW to "new" players? There are many new players joining the game that get turned off not know who "all these people are." Something that someone who has knows zero percent about the game could walk away understanding the major points of the core game and each expansion (and maybe how the classes fit in?)
how did the aspects rally behind her when defeating galakrond? in the book dawn of the aspects alexstraza is really a side character... ysera seems like the life binder she cares about everyone and doesnt want anyone to die. and if anything malygos and ysera seems like the leader in the book
Does anyone know what is the name of the zone music starting at 4:30? I can't place it but it's one of those really good zone ambient background music tracks.
I've just come back to WoW after about a ten year gap. I just think it has become way too easy. It used to be way harder to level, way harder to get the best gear, and there was way more story. Everything feels focused around the superficial elements like transmogs, world quests, and battle pets rather than fully developed quest lines that reward you with the good gear at the end of the line. I have been levelling alts faster than quest gear can keep up meaning that there is no gear suitable for them. Crafted gear is the obvious choice but the ridiculous relic of the past system means you are on the back foot for finding appropriate level gear. I think Blizzard just need to focus more on the thrill of the hunt rather than the end game content
Am I the only one that thinks (hopes? XD) that Alexstrasza will turn into a ‘bad guy’? Can’t wait to see where this expansion goes. Loved the lore videos, keep doing them! It makes it so much easier to understand the world and characters with videos like this.
rewatching the wrathgate cutsceen, i wonder. what if it was sarufang the younger who insted of bolvar was infused with the life fire like if it was bovar stuck down but sarufang who suvived to ended up on the frozen throne
Saurfang probably wouldn't do so good at resisting the Jailer's influence, so he would serve as a death knight of Arthas and Bolvar would still take the Helm of Domination.
It's really freaking sad that you're choice does not matter in the game. My main is DK, and she is neutral towards dragons. In that mission, she threatened that librarian, but did not harm anyone else, and yet according to canon, she has mercilessly murdered Azeroth's most valorous protectors, her allies. So very sad :(
Yeah, as a DK I hated that questline. My DK is pretty positive toward dragons--or, at least, I ground my way to exalted for the Wyrmrest Accord back in Wrath, so you would think this character and the red flight would be on good terms. If you've not done it, I recommend doing a certain questline in the south of Drustvar in Kul Tiras. You start with helping two thornspeaksers, one of which is wounded, but then a red dragon shows up--and if you are a Death Knight she has some choice words for you. One of the few places in WoW I remember where past character actions had such an impact on the narrative. (Quest plays the same even if you're not a DK, but the dialogue is entirely different).
stop huminifying that titan monster😅😅 those aspects are just mortal dogs of the titans to be tamed or killed for loot we should just decimate the dragon flights completely and tame the elementalists imho I mean we as a player are an immortal like Illidan
