I'm 27 male I been sexually abused and raped in my childhood multiple times around the age of 7 to 11. This trauma leads me to non socializing person who always had difficulty in maintaining friendship or relationship. Some months back my psychiatrist conveyed me it may be due to my unhealed childhood trauma I been currently into chronic Depression, PTSD and anxiety issues. I'm taking medication related to it these days hope one day I'll heal. One thing I feel proud was I made sure my lovable younger sister shouldn't undergo this things so I safeguarded her as per my knowledge and she is currently persuing medicine and have large social circle not like me .I felt so guilty when some people commented it's all because of men like I feel it's about individual discriminating things like this towards one gender is not acceptable. My parents didn't educated about this things may be they thought I'm a boy I wouldn't face this things and I really don't know what's happening those days it took me years to understand what happened in my past. To parents who out there make sure to educate your children whether girl or boy about it and give them strong support that you will be always there for them😊
You are a such a cute angel.I agree victims are from both gender. You too get some education and grow your self and reduce your financial dependency also. It is not our mistake, come out from it. I use this method if sometimes Iam in situatiom to travel alone in auto or bus , by noting the vehicle number and sending it to the person I feel safe and also the location live sharing. I think this would be helpful in anyway, hope so u be strong and safe all time.
I'm so glad you spoke about this, be it men or women, should first be inculcated with respecting their fellow beings. Don't let anyone abuse you, if they over power you, never leave them, let the hell come down. If one fights, and get justice, it will help others to do so too. This will bring in fear and they have to think twice before committing such crimes. I agree with you on bringing in law for a strict law for such crimes, no exception for juvenile as well, if they have knowledge on this crime they are not minors, they have to be treated as majors and apply the same punishment. I've been a victim too many a times, when told to my family I was made to shut up. I'm 47 now...and those incidents have impacted me deeply , which has impacted my relationships as well. To all lost souls, you did nothing wrong, but I pray the culprits are brought to justice soon.

Till this date, I haven’t confided this to anyone, not even my parents. Being an only child I worry about making my parents upset:( nd also I was very scared that people would think poorly of me. I am also a victim ma. Starting from very own cousin brother to the incident that took place last week. The trauma is increasing day by day. I too have a girl child studying in grade 1 till date pick up and drop is by myself and my husband. I am traumatized to the extreme to even believe in PPL around us because of some creatures. I dont no where these situations are going to end.
This is so true.... I am a young mom and yes when I was in delivery room soon after the baby born I was asking my doctor what baby it is ... Enakku 28, i have faced this issue few times during my schooling. Enakku therinja anna oruthar eh enna bad touch panirukaru, the thing is i was too young to understand that was a molestation and i escaped just bcz i was not comfortable and even after that i was talking to that person bcz i didn't realise that was a bad touch or what i under go was wrong. After certain age only i realized he just molested me. Now i have a 4 yr baby girl. After Aarthi news when I try to say dont get chocolates from others she is asking y. I can't explain her. I, being a rape victim, I survived it in my 13th age and none of my family knew about it till now. I processed my traumas with the help of professionals after 10 years and got healed but I don't think all victims can afford it. One incident that i want to share is when i and my family were in bus stop for sending my brother for an college IV trip , a drunken guy came near me to hit on me , a friend of my brother slaps that guy and saved me 😢 i don't even know his name 😢 . But i am glad that he came to help a strange girl and having a great respect for girls. There are some guys .....

I dont usually comment on videos, but this is personal. I am 22 this year, I have experienced sexual assault when i was 9 years old. No matter when or how many times i think of the event, tears just roll down my eyes. I have 2 sisters, and the trauma happened to me just gets activated in fraction of seconds whenever they step out of the house. I feel safe at home and even then sometimes i am like what if things happen at home and thats how much it affects the victim. it scars them forever. I have not told my parents abt it bcs for a fact i know they will blame me(they will be like neeyae ange pona, idhukku solrathu ponnuna ipdi irukkanum) but deep down i have always wanted them to voice out and defend us. like you said, in the span of this week many households would have talked about how horrible the affected parents would have felt, but i think every parents should have made their children to sit down and ask them if they have experienced any sorts of that and when they ask the children parents should be prepared for any answers. I personally dont think there is a solution for this, but we can hope for a reduction if the upcoming generation or this kid generation decides to change and break the chain of asking girls to change instead we can make both the genders sit down and tell them its never right to touch anyone without their consent and teach to be respectful of each other. Respect creates a boundary for everything. I am sorry to say this but this is sad reality if today(avan paiyan, nee ponnu , avan ennavenalum pannala aana ni ponnu panna kudathu) ITS A HIGH TIME TO BREAK THAT SICK CHAIN.

I feel as a doctor and a woman, it is my duty to say, that the comments about the the way women dress is taken as a validation for their action be it harassment or assault - verbal or sexual by a lot of men and boys. Just a few days back when i was speaking to my aunt about this topic, she made the same comment and i asked her “ If your own son harassed or abused someone just because she was dressed provocatively, will you accept it as a valid reason for your son’s actions?”, only after I asked that question did she realise how ignorant her comment was. Most look at this issue only from a single side, but like all issues this is also multifaceted. Like Rani aunty said I have also faced this at an age when I couldn’t even comprehend the gender differentiation less alone sexual encounters and by no less than a family member, I was subconsciously so traumatised that I repressed the whole issue until it resurfaced during my first year in college when I faced a similar issue albeit to a lesser degree while travelling in public transport. To the parents, guardians and adults, I beg you to have a honest conversation with your kids about this issue, be it boys or girls, teach them what is right from wrong, be open and receptive, tell them to treat each other with dignity and respect, reassure them that no matter the trouble they are in that they are always welcome to share it with you but at the same time set some boundaries that they are not to cross and ask them if they ever faced something like this, but do not push them, because as long as you are willing to openly talk about these issues, with enough time and reassurances they will come to you. It is high time that instead of blaming the victim, or imprisoning women in house or a marriage, you educate your sons, fathers, brothers, cousins and friends about how to treat women, better yet teach them how to treat their fellow human. For all those women out there that went or going through something similar, I know that even on thinking about these encounters, this crippling fear takes over you and for the tiniest moment you freeze every time you read, hear, or see such incidents, I understand and If you ever feel like you want to talk to someone, I urge you to reach to the person you trust most, or to any other doctor or a psychiatrist or you can contact me @9629010555.
Yeah Things has happened to me too till 10 yrs ago. I faced these kind of issues in bus, other places too. So i don't go to temple on crowded days. I stopped going in bus. Things has happened even in my workplace. I'm just avoiding those places still. I felt very long back that being born as a girl is a sin to my birth. I still have the feeling of unsafe and will be there till my death.

As a man, i feel ashamed if what is happening in our country. Sexual abuse goes on both genders, even i was abused by my cousin when i was 9.its not all men, but always men.But, the reason why major of the victims are girls is bcoz boys are not taught how to see a girl, how to talk to a girl, how to treat a girl, especially in rural areas. S. I was also sexuall abused by my own brother. For about 3 years he abused. I didn't know know what to do that age. I told my mom. She was working and didn't mind that. I felt very unsafe at my own house. Its been 23 years now. Till now im not able to get out of that trauma. Im praying god to punish him atleast his hands should get cut off in any accident. But now he is talking to me like he is a responsible brother. Cant take it anymore. He is living a nice life. But i lost all my confidence and suffering from anxiety.

I faced this too Bad touch is not just a touch it will create a trauma which disturb a persons performance. It happens for 80% of women who travels in town bus regularly. I told to my mom but she never mind it. Because may be she was also go through this she also don’t have an idea how to over come and deal with it. Our county is the most unsafe country in the world. I have told to everyone every time. I am still hearing from youngsters daily their facing same problem while travelling in bus. I am very hard to everyone till date.
All this happens just because lack of knowledge and wrong parenting , I here by beg parents to upbring both female and male child with equal nourishment and right , Hope this will too change ... Pure prayers to all those victims .

My mom was an orphan even my mother is a victim she shared her story with me but not even to my father. Due to her trauma she can't leave me alone anywhere and she was overprotective
I have also faced a sexual harrasment at my previous work organisation despite complaining to women safety department with proofs they did not punish that person who was my team leader. I am still traumatized.

Yes, mam i too faced this,, at the age of 12 , my neighbor one old man, 60 plus, while i playing with his grandchild, he pressed my breast, i cried lonely, i told my dad, after a day, but he didn't warned that old man, after when i come out my home , the way of his seeing was in bad manner, one day i threw a stone on him, still he watches in a bad manner, so he is a worst gut 😢
Its also happening for the girl's there inside their own house they are suffering a lot without able to tell anyone about it that they have been going through all this in their own house. It may be their father, brother, uncle....... Girls don't feel much safely even inside or outside their home. 🙂

The harsh truth is each of us go through different sufferings and hardships , but not everything can be told out easily . I agree to your point which explains that no matter what bad happens gradually we have to move on in life even if the problem isnt solved . Justice for each and every individual who have gone through painful suffering. I too had got harassed once physically last year by one student from our university near our university in Australia. I should have been strong i felt , but i learnt a lot from it and became a wiser person than before.🤝💪

I am a 17 year old girl. I faced this issue during my 8-10 yrs at bharatham class by my master still i don't have a clear memory about it but i know something bad has happened .. my parents don't know about it because if i tell them now too they can't change anything they will just control me by not going out and they will never allow me to achieve my dreams..it is the reason for many girls not saying their parents about it

Me and my momwere discussing about this.... The very first thing she said was ***nayingala nadu roadla suttu kolanum..... That moment as an Indian I felt ashamed..... After that as a sister I talked to my brother about this and he said ....... Pavam la andha ponu he was same age as arthi when I look at that kid it felt like she was reflecting me becoz I experienced it when i was just six years old and I have been carrying that trauma for more than 10 years still I feel disgust and dirt whenever I remember it ...... Thank god atleast she(arthi) is in better place now.... Let her soul rest in peace.... This incident and many more like these haunt me till date and i sometimes even get panic attacks with thoughts about this.
