it feels like this video didn’t cover the main part of the controversy surrounding heejin! there are countless occasions with her involving minor or freshly legal members of groups in suggestive concepts. not to mention those disturbing photos seen around her room that had recurring themes of older adults in relationships with teens.

MHJ is the person who wanted an underage Taemin (and barely legal SHINee!) shirtless in the Sherlock concept art and purposely didn’t tell Taemin she wanted to photograph him shirtless for his Ace album that way he wouldn’t start working out his upper body. The end results might be beautiful but at what cost to the artist? This reads like a puff piece, MHJ is weird and HAS BEEN weird for ages.

Just because debuting 13 year olds has been done before, doesn't make it okay for it to be normalized.

I’m so worried no one is reporting on Min Hee Jin being a possible p*do. I wanted to get into New Jeans but seeing the questionable content Hee Jin posted on her insta I’m rly worried for the girls, they’re all so young, the youngest being a 2008 liner is just crazy to me. No hate to the girls (i actually loved their debut) I just hope the truth comes out and everyone is safe.

The real controversy people is talking about is the p3d0 file accusations against Min Hee Jin, wich shows in her past works with some Sm groups, like giving Taemin and Kristal (both minors and maknaes in the groups she has work with) favoritism and taking inappropriate photo shots (with not much clothes on, saying she want to portrait "the innocence of them"); you can also see inappropriate photos of minors in some photos she has uploaded to her Instagram feed. So sad you're not talking about this, wich is a really serious topic and that the girls of the new group could face in the future if Min Hee Jin keeps being the creative director behind the group.

I don’t have a problem with teens singing about love but it’s important what type of love song it Is The music they are giving these girls are so mature, too mature for teens Lightsum and woo!ah and Izone are perfect examples of teens singing about love and it’s in a good way

I still think they concept is a bit mature, I personally don't like these teenager debuting at the age of 14 or 13. And before you start bringing Boa and Taemin, Boa clearly said she didn't like idol debuting this young, this industry is very hard. Like this Generation keep increasing the age of debuting young idols which cause idols who are like 18 or 19 considered old

You praise this Heejin girl saying how she is so creative and whatever then say how her '' work'' is basically all the same and even with this new jeans girl group she basically copies everything she did with SM groups. I usually love your videos, but the way you idolized Min Heejin here doesn't sit right with me. You should have mentioned her p*dophilia scandal, and how CREEPY it is to see her working with a group full of minors now. There have always been people saying that she was behaving weirdly around underage idols like Shinee's Taemin or NCT's Jisung, and SM hasn't debuted any minors anymore since she left. There's definitely something fishy about her and I'm worried about the New Jeans members.

I absolutely *LOVE* New Jeans!!! Imo their concept is unique, cool, and fresh compared to the other Kpop girl groups. Their music is so refreshing and chill. I like that they’re different and think that’s the reason they’re going viral. In their music videos they look like girls just genuinely having fun together and exploring young love. I think too many Kpop girl groups try to push young members into mature concepts too fast. Also it looks like they didn’t have to go on a cut throat survival show to debut. Correct me if I’m wrong on that one though. They just look like a well rounded girl group ran by someone who cares for them. Plus I absolutely had no idea who the mastermind was behind all of my favorite groups from SM!!

NewJeans have had a great debut, Cookie is such a vibe song. They all have great talent, they sing & rap well, all their songs sound different. It's good that Hybe are branching out and creating many girl groups now. They deserve to become as successful as their male counterparts 💖💜

They have a well planned future that's for sure but let's hope they will be able to maintain this positivity throughout there years....personally yes age matters but our girl seems to know what's important and what's to avoid and that's what's most important...she might have debuted a little too early but this doesn't mean she's the only one I mean Idols who debut in 15/16 would go through the same thing..plus shes been into this industry of idolism for a long time now [ the show she was on] so I think she knows how to handle things well... just hope that the future holds good things for new Jeans.

I don't know if anyone picked up on this, but there is a photo on here of Min Hee Jin and in the background she had a wooden podium stand with a doll on display either in underwear or a bathing suit. I find that a bit strange and creepy.Looks like it's in her living room. Why would a woman in her 40's put something like that on display? Weird!

I'm just worried about the pressure they will experience, everything sounds great but it's different when netizens are talking about their looks, bodies and health in general. They are going to be exposed to all the toxic standards. I honestly don't support the debut of children or teens because of that. Also, children shouldn't work.

for the people saying at the lyrics, here are the real lyrics. - correction translation should be: "it's only at my house, let's hang out." NOT "baked at my place only, come get some." - "let me hear you speak" NOT "let me hear you say you want it more." the mistranslations make it a completely different meaning. - "no dinner dinner though ur hungry, no water water though ur thirsty, sweet sugar, my my dessert, my my" should NOT be the translation. the translation should be "u haven't eaten dinner even tho ur hungry, u haven't drank tho ur hungry + bc u only wanna eat the sweet dessert." this line is NOT sexual, it legit just meanst the crush only wants to eat the cookie so they haven't had dinner. - next line "원하게 될 거 알잖아" should NOT be translated into "that’s how you like it, ain’t that right?". it SHOULD be "you'll get to eat what you want." it's following right after not eating dinner, meaning they can get to eat only the cookie. again, the bad translation changes the nuance. - "역시 향기부터 다르니" shouldn't be "yeah, the scent alone will make you see" it should be "as expected, even the scent is different." just talking about the scent of the baked cookie, the korean line has nothing about seeing anything. ( please like this so more people can see it. "

I read some comments on New Jeans's youtube shorts saying things like "Their hair is so long and healthy but it wont be healthy in an year". It coments like this that are sad becasue there is a lot of truth to that because of the treatment of kpop stars. I hope Min Hee Jin helps make major changes in the treatment of stars that other companies will want to follow and we can finally have a generation of kpop where girls are are actually happy and not just working dispite aweful treatment. the koreans r saying it doesnt imply any double meaning so its a mistranslation. fans r asking hybe to correct it. its actually a song for the fans. the cookie represents their album cd and its a song for their fans (sort of promoting their album) but i think the problem is how people r reacting to the lyrics cuz they r the ones only looking for the double meanings given the fact that the girls have made a whole video explaining the meaning of the song before its release so yea. its just sung in a sensual way that makes ppl think that it actually suggests double meaning. in my defence of n the cookie video even has their album CDs to show that theyr talking abt their CD . there is also this is bag which is also another version of their physical album. the design is inspired by Cookie and also a CD. the girls designed it themselves

i found them through a youtube recommendation and I AM SO GRATEFUL. they are so refreshingggg. everything about them is so refreshing. The love interest in their videos is even revolutionary. they had a black boy to shun the racists, the had a woman/NB to shun the homophobes and anti-lgbtq, the girls arent forced to cut or dye their hair and all the styling is boyish and cute and charming. The last words are very true and show how the industry looks now. Only girl crush counts for girl groups in the mainstream and if you are from the biggest labels. If you are doing anything else as a girl group or you are from a smaller label you need to prepare for a tough road to success because many kpop fans these days will give a s**t about you or will hate you and try to find any evidence of "copying" their faves concepts and ideas from bigger labels.

I won't argue what's right or wrong, I just want to point out a thing that baffle me: it seems some people assume they know better than the members' parents themselves, and they talk as if they worry for the girls even more than their parents, who I'm sure had did some fact checks before sending their daughters to the company. If their parents think it's ok for their girls to be under MHJ's guildance, I think I should trust them more than some random strangers' opinions on the internet.

No doubt new jeans is going to dominate K-pop...i am somehow reluctant to Stan new groups unless they have a spark but in case of new jeans I decided to Stan them as soon as I saw their hype boy mv. The song is soo good it's stuck in my head since then plus the visuals of the girls are soo pleasing to watch😍😍. Since I'm in same age as them it makes me feel connected to them somehow!
