The UNTOLD Truth Of Paul McCartney’s Most FAMOUS Song
'Hey Jude' is more than just a beloved Beatles song. It's a testament to the power of empathy and the unbreakable bonds of friendship, even in the face of life's greatest challenges.
The Beatles have never been short on writing incredible, heartfelt songs with personal meaning.
If you hear the song title, "Hey Jude,” then you immediately think Beatles. But this song came at a moment of crisis in Paul McCartney’s life. Like me, you may have believed that this song was written by Paul for John Lennon’s son, Julian., But then I found out about the hidden message that lies further in “Hey Jude,” that Paul didn’t want his fans to know about. Cue my mind being blown!!!
In today's video we look at The UNTOLD Truth Of Paul McCartney’s Most FAMOUS Song

Have you ever dived deep into the outrageous stories surrounding The Beatles? Just the other day, I came across an old Paul McCartney interview where he reminisced about the first time Paul McCartney met John Lennon. In today's video, it is one of the last songs they created together. It's fascinating to see the evolution of The Beatles through their music. From iconic Beatles songs to individual masterpieces like John Lennon's best songs, their legacy is unparalleled. I remember reading an article titled 'What is John Lennon's favorite Beatles song?' and was surprised to learn about John Lennon’s favourite Paul McCartney Beatles songs. However, among the various stories, the most chilling could be about John Lennon. It's those kind of outrageous stories, mixed with classics like 'Paul McCartney Coming Up', that make their history so captivating.

You're absolutely right, @normanbrown9225! 'Hey Jude' really did break the mold with its length and still managed to become a massive hit. It goes to show the power of the song and the Beatles' influence on the music industry. What's your favorite part of 'Hey Jude' that makes it stand out for you? ❤

In 1968 George invited Eric Clapton to play lead on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", so that was the first time a non-Beatle was involved in recording with the Beatles. For Let It Be, Billy Preston was invited. In both instances, George stated the Beatles were "on their best behavior" with Eric and Billy .

You're right, Leonard! George inviting Eric Clapton and Billy Preston brought distinct influences to the Beatles' music, and having them in the studio brought out the band's best. Although the Beatles had used session musicians before, such as the orchestral arrangements in "A Day in the Life," these collaborations with Eric and Billy were unique because they played significant roles in the songs' creative processes, almost like unofficial members. Do you have a favorite moment where their contributions added that extra magic to a Beatles track?

@@TheRockAlchemy definitely Eric Clapton's solo on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". That elevated the song to another level.

Paul said he was driving over to visit Cynthia and Julian when the song came to him. It was originally called Hey Jules.
@TheRockAlchemy
@TheRockAlchemy 5 месяцев назад
That's spot on, Jean! "Hey Jules" was indeed the original title, reflecting the personal touch Paul intended as he thought of Julian during that drive. It’s fascinating how a moment of genuine concern for a friend's family evolved into one of the Beatles’ most beloved tracks. 🎶 Have you ever had a moment where a piece of art or music became unexpectedly meaningful in your life due to the circumstances you were in?

His most famous song is YESTERDAY. John Lennon commented that Hey Jude was about him, not Julian.

You're right, "Yesterday" is indeed one of Paul's most famous songs. The story behind "Hey Jude" is quite complex, isn't it? How do you interpret the song's meaning, given the different perspectives shared by Paul and John?

Oh geez I'm so sad hearing that at the end. But wow this will change my way of looking and hearing this song. Those lyrics always befuddled me. Now it all becomes clear. Yeah right. Thankyou.

It's understandable to feel that way, Mary. Those quotes at the end are really touching which is why I had to include them. Also, the backstory of "Hey Jude" adds layers of complexity that can be both enlightening and emotional. But it’s incredible how understanding the context can change the way we experience those befuddling lyrics! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Do you have any other Beatles songs whose meanings or backstories surprised you like this one?

Interesting video. I think your thesis is plausible, and there is no doubt things you mention contributed to the emotional maelstrom. I don't recognise Lennon's higher motives. When Cynthia went to Greece with Magic Alex, she'd been set up to commit adultery with the Magic one. She was groomed for the sting and Alex sang like a canary to get Lennon's wealth ring-fenced. It takes a special mind to do that. Any ideas? McCartney was also no angel. He was known post-Hamburg to be addicted to what in Liverpool were unkindly known as "scrubbers". Thus when Nanci Schwartz appeared at a London nightclub, the attraction to the Groupy Queen was instant and fatal. When Jayne Asher came home early from a tour and caught him in flagrante delicto then he was saying hello to bachelorship. There is a much more simple explanation for "Hey Jude" connected to ethnicity, religious affiliation an Paul's mother...

Thanks for sharing your insights, @gerrymurphy3854! You've have surely painted a vivid picture of the emotional complexities behind the scenes, which is always what I want to do with my videos too. It's true that the Beatles, like all of us, had their personal struggles and imperfections, it's fascinating to consider how these experiences might have shaped their music. Regarding 'Hey Jude,' it's indeed intriguing how personal backgrounds and the broader cultural context could influence a song's creation. What aspects of 'Hey Jude' do you think were most affected by these factors? How do you think understanding these influences changes the way we listen to the song today?

I saw on a documentary that one night John and Yoko stayed behind after the Beatles jam session so they could make music together and Paul put the recorder on for them. He said you never know you guys might come up with something good. He must have known he was losing John.
