''How did the house handle previous Halloween nights? Why can't they just repeat whatever worked back then?'' My understanding is that the house only became such a serious threat THIS Halloween because Horace was usually there to keep it under control until this year. HE was what worked before, but now he's in the hospital, so there's nobody home to keep unsuspecting trick or treaters away from the house before it can lure them in and attack them.

@Nighlocktheawesome00
@Nighlocktheawesome00 Год назад
The worst part is this: A normal human would have probably been killed by the fall. Constance has quite a bit of bulk on her, so the most the fall would do is badly injure her, maybe even paralyze her. And seeing as how her corpse is facing up when the kids find her, she had to watch as the cement fell on her, covering her from head to toe, unable to get back up because of the pain she was in. There's no telling how long Nebercracker was out cold, but he was probably out for a few hours, allowing for the cement to dry and suffocate his wife. So while the fall wouldn't have killed her, the suffocation she suffered definitely did her in.

You asked about previous Haloweens and why the house was targeting DJ. Well the answer to both is Nevercracker, he could have kept kids away previous years and his heart attack happened as he was yelling at DJ. Even though its obviously not his fault the house might hold a grudge against him.

Monster House is a pretty unique oddity, even if it is a weird look from its motion capture animation, it certainly has a great stop motion look about it. 6:36 Q: How did the house handle other Halloween nights? A: Nebbercracker was there to keep Constance at bay and put up signs to threaten kids to stay away from him and the house. Constance hates the kids for the torment they put her through and definitely wasn’t going to listen to DJ, Chowder, or Jenny. Q: why was the house taunting CJ randomly if it only attacks people on its grounds? A: CJ was the child who caused Nebbercracker to have a heart attack and thus be taken away from her. This child had stolen away the one person who made her feel complete, so now she has a particular grudge towards him for what he had done. This is intensified by how the movie has imagery of the house’s window cracking through CJ after Nebbercracker was taken away to show she wants him dead. And later in the film, it was CJ who tried to get Nebbercracker to move on after Constance had just gotten him back. This one boy was taking away the only person she had left twice, hence her murderous intend towards them.

I enjoy Dazzs videos on films, but I keep noticing times where the questions hes pointing out as flaws in the content for not filling are...actually very much answered in the film? Like, it's happened before and now with this film, where there's very blatant answers to why the house has changed its behaviour that the characters bring up multiple times. It kind of feels like Dazz doesn't actually watch the films properly, maybe just skims it while doing something else and then works off of what he remembers from that I swear every video there's comments answering what he claims are potholes or bad crafting of the story 😔
@pipedream2556
@pipedream2556 Год назад
I thought the "padding" wasn't bad actually, there needed to be build up to actually going into the house when they're so scared of it. If they'd not exhausted other options by having such terrible excuses for authority figures then it would have felt like they weren't actually seeing it as a threat, you know? But the only adult who didn't ignore/laugh at them was too lost in his games to realise they were talking about real life and gave them a video game style solution, I didn't think that was a bad way of leading to the kids doing something as insane as actually going into the mouth of the monster willingly, and thats kind of the only way they could have had them explore the house freely instead of being eaten alive like the other victims. THAT would have been a plot hole, if they got eaten and then were just casually able to wander around, since that should mean the other victims ought to have been able to as well, you know? Alls things considered it reminded me of the ideas behind stories that adults look at and see kids endangered and kids look at and see themselves surviving danger, you know? Dumb mistakes are made that can only come from how young they are, but it works out in the end because they tried anyway

The house was handled in previous years by horace, as the movie says. It also shows how vindictive and defensive the spirit trapped within the house is towards children, and we see that it can recognise people and react to them like a human because it is a house possessed by horace's wife, as the movie shows, which is why it taunts the main character, and uses the basketball on the fat kid and the kite on Keith Richards.

I'm in, some parts do feel like they may have used a little bit of CGI probably to polish it up around the edges. I wouldn't be surprised. But if this is truly mostly or if not all just stop motion animation, then God damn. I would have never guessed. I thought it was just a type of animation style to set the atmosphere and mood. Honestly in my opinion that is impressive. When to stop motion animation is good enough to the point where you don't even realize it stop motion animation, you just see it as almost cgi, I think that's pretty good. A group of people came together and made something that good by hand instead of just with computers. That kind of gives me more of an appreciation for it.

When I was a kid I was scared of the main menu of this movie so much that I had slept under the bed. True story

It's always somewhat nostalgic coming back to this movie. Now that I think about the story, I wonder if me watching Monster House as a kid subconsciously lead to me becoming a FNaF fan over 10 years later. 🤔

There is actually a monster house video game that shows alot more of the inside of the house and how it works. The game is pretty old though like gamecube era.

Honestly, Polar Express is a trip but I do love its aesthetic. The uncanny designs enhance the movie in my opinion.

I'm tired of all the parents out there saying Monster House, Coraline and 9(2009) are for kids when they are not! They are not run-of-the-mill generic Disney films. They are actually nightmarish movies, with existential deep moments, and eldritch villains.

I think the original version of the film was meant to be a much darker film hint the earlier concept art. where I think the house would've killed the babysitter and the pizza Chad gamer, and the house would go full on terrorize the kids

Yep, they should have kept it in that everyone eaten before would have died. Makes no sense the house tries to rip DJ, Chowder and Jenny to shreds but then throws everyone else in the basement.

Monster House in concept sounds like your typical horror movie premise and I dug it as a kid but now that I'm older I really appreciate the emotional aspects a lot more
