i'm just gonna put my two cents on one thing that bothers me a bit: for what purpose were 2.5 and 3.0 original songs getting encore versions for? i thought the whole purpose of "encore" was to give a "round 2" to pre-existing songs. we do not need, say, a fatality encore version, why would we ever need that??

I feel like this restoration mod was trying to do way too much. It should’ve been more like what the Lullaby restoration team were doing, bringing in all of the missing assets and animations for the mod and only making new things if they weren’t able to access the original assets. All of these new characters and remastered sprites just seem like way too much and honestly some of the remastered stuff seem unnecessary anyways. Apart from maybe the Triple Trouble sprites (except Xenophane’s sprites) nothing really needed changing from either Triple Trouble, You can’t Run or Too Slow. Just seems like people are sort of looking past what makes the Sonic.EXE mod special, the nostalgic collection of creepypastas that we can all remember and celebrating any modern new ones that may have came afterwards. All of these new EXE’s, that are just (in my opinion) lazily designed and unnecessary, are one of the main reasons why the mod isn’t as well known anymore. It was washed out with way too much stuff and eventually got cancelled so none of it even mattered since the restoration is also cancelled.
I mean no offense to anyone who worked on this mod but do you have any of these images and animations by any chance? I would love to have a look at them without a black background lmao

2:34 thats shadow because they were gonna use smash bandicoots triple trouble encore and the ycr encore cutscene was intended for the og sonic.exe mod before it was cancelled
That new "I'm gonna getcha" animation is my least favorite thing to have ever been made. The animator did not even try to mimic the artstyle that the mod has, but people look at it and call it "good". I've seen much better.

im the artist of the mod some people know me as encore GF artist so i did Gf's Amy_alt, serious coldsteel more... and I was doing Ycr encore with all sprite with best artist of the mod but she was too much overworked so she left the team so the team was starting to leave and the mod was literally buried alive so thats why we cancelled the mod
You can call me an asshole, you wouldn't be the first, but it's kinda funny to me how both the original and the restore were cancelled before being finished

Actually Xeno plane needs a remastered and I think I can fix that I could turn them something really that no one else could not reform him I'm going to transform him to have that X symbol on his chest just too high HD upgrade him so he could be more terrifying so everyone else could have a jump scare with him I probably will add some red rings or soul gem rings to dodge the attack
