Finally a car reviewer who's NOT a totally idiot. Reviewing a car for what it is. I'm tired of stupid car journalists complaining cars can't hold a 1litre bottle in the pockets; or comparing the 720s to a 718; or reviewing every bloody car reminding me its infotainment isn't as good as BMW's ... Great job! You surely should have more viewers... 😉
I’ve had my Up gti for nearly a month now and it’s simply a joy to drive . Cheap to buy and run ( compared to say a golf gti) yet absolutely brilliant fun to drive . How can something with 3 cylinders and 1,000 cc be such fun ? Great car for the real world and people who live in the real world.
Damn right, had mine for nearly a year and it's an absolute joy to drive, looks sweet and was a downright bargain. I don't like too much distracting tech and this is just the ticket :).
Hate the people that say this isn't a true GTI. As it's not just about speed, admittedly it is the slowest GTI but them 3 letters mean more than just speed, can't wait to see how they evolve the UP! GTI over the decades. Like they've done with the Polo & Golf. If you want speed get one of them.
Very good and funny video! It's often the more basic and smaller models that are the most fun! Used to have the Smart Roadster Brabus and even with its flaws, it was so much fun!!! Keep up the great videos!
2:16 Uhm, you know that the problem with drum brakes isn‘t the breaking force? The force, drum breaks do deliver, is higher than disk break force. Main problem with the drum break is the bad heat dissipationand the complicated procedure of changing the drum it self, compared to replacing a disk.
Very funny and honest review, thanks for that. It just have 2 needless things - too big rims and too much doors, otherwise it would be perfect gti. Subscribed to channel.
No, Paul is from Romania. Do you have a problem with that? I am a bit suspicious about why you asked that question. Yes, the car has Swedish plates and it is obvious that Paul may not come from Sweden. But so what? It is a great review and I agree with his comments.
I'm sorry but I'd feel like a tool without rear disc brakes, drums are just so archaic and horrible to look at. I get the point of this car but frankly it needs 0-60mph times beginning with a 7 not an 8. Needs about 50% more power than VW gave it. 160-170bhp be perfect
I get what you're saying but I think VW's Marketing Department wouldn't have wanted an up! GTI with 170hp because it would be too close performance wise to the Polo GTI. Plus that would have made this car more expensive that it already is.
170hp would be to dangerous for non-pro drivers. It's already got loads of torque!! Real Gti lovers also know that the mark 1 2 and 3 Golf 8valve Gti engines all had about 115hp!
