Dayeuh Luhur is located at the top of Mount Rengganis. In the past, when the government of the Kingdom of Sumedanglarang was led by King Geusan Ulun, the center of government was moved from Kutamaya to Dayeuh Luhur. The relocation of this government center is one of the reasons for the conflict between the Kingdom of Sumedanglarang and the Sultanate of Cirebon.
When Prabu Geusan Ulun died in 1601, he was buried in Dayeuh Luhur. While his successor, Prince Suriadiwangsa who is his son moved the center of government to Tegal Kalong. The tomb of King Geusan Ulun itself is located in the northern part of the village on the west side of Dayeuh Luhur village road. The tomb is in the middle of the tomb complex which is generally divided into 3 parts. The tombs are surrounded by country roads on the east side, parking spaces on the south side, forests on the north and west sides. The tomb gate is located on the south side.
The first part located near the gate of the tomb or the lower part contains the tomb of the locksmiths. The second part which is located in the higher part of the first part and on the west side of the road to the tomb of King Geusan Ulun there is the tomb of the wife of King Geusan Ulun, namely Queen Harisbaya. The third part which is the back and north and the highest part of the tomb complex is the tomb of King Geusan Ulun.
The tomb complex of Prabu Geusan Ulun has now changed from its previous condition. Previously, the tomb of King Geusan Ulun was surrounded by a wall around the south gate. After the arrangement in 2012, the tomb of King Geusan Ulun in the form of a wooden pillar building with a tiled roof. The main door is made of wood and is surrounded by a fence. In addition to the tomb of King Geusan Ulun, this building also has several tombs, including the tomb of Pageran Soeriadiwangsa (Prince Gempol I) and Kiai Demang Cipaku.
To visit this Tomb is not too difficult. The road leading to Dayeuh Luhur area is paved and can be passed by two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. The distance from Ganeas which is the access point to the Upper City is about 7 km. The road he traveled was quite steep. But the natural scenery during the trip is very beautiful. Can see the natural beauty of Sumedang including the city of Sumedang and Mount Tampomas
