These cameras are so good. I'd love to get a Blackmagic someday; I used to use the 6k Pro and Ursa Broadcast in my old job and they were such a pleasure to use. I'm assuming you shoot in Braw or do you find that Prores does the job?
@DesignedbyKirk

They are brilliant! I always shoot BRAW, really find myself shooting ProRes, despite the huge file sizes!

Very nice ! I love the feel out of your shots, that moody light. Could you please explain your grading process in just a few words ? :) Is it like a complicated node tree or just basic adjustments based on a simple rec 709 conversion ? Thanks a lot and keep going !

Cheers mate! For this project, as it was quick turnaround, the colour grade process was super simple node tree wise. Followed a structure like this: Noise Reduction > Balance > Curves and Exposure > Look / Color Adjust > Effects (Grain Halation) > CST > Sharpening Hope that helps!

The Ursa 4.6 g2 is a very underrated camera, it’s a beast of a production camera, easy to use and rig and the image is on its own class.

I’m thinking about getting a Ursa mini 4.6k Is there really a big difference between that & the Ursa mini pro G2?
@DesignedbyKirk
@DesignedbyKirk 15 дней назад
I think there are some noticeable differences that are worth considering, best compare the spec sheets, dynamic range is one of them

Love my Ursa G2. I did do a mod on the evf to make it smaller. I could not get the kit that was made 8 years ago but used the modification video to create my own version. this is the video that inspired me to make my own. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k5wcAicHpOk.htmlsi=S2x9MownnGmGe5Go

@@DesignedbyKirk I emailed Wooden to see if they had any left, no response. I removed everything but the eyepiece, used the existing cables and made a mount to attach to a Zacuto EVF/monitor mount. I would post some photos if I could.

How did you deal with the IR pollution of the ursa mini pro 4.6 g2?
@DesignedbyKirk

IR filter on my sigma lens, however both shoots I’ve had so far I haven’t gone any further with mitigations yet nor noticed any issues

6k/pro has higher DR I'm testing both at the moment with identical lenses and light. Ursa clips a lot sooner resulting in "imaginary" lower noise floor but then exposed correctly both - the 6k is visually higher DR. I'm still keeping the ursa as it eliminates the need for a gimbal and makes it faster on location / docu shooter for me but 6k is a better sensor thats not even factoring in superior low light.
@DesignedbyKirk
@DesignedbyKirk 2 месяца назад
Not sure if i've had the same experience as you have, but overall I've just found the sensor in the Ursa to be of higher calibre in the look, 6K is still my favourite camera, having had it for the last 3 years almost as my primary

Well according to the lab tests from CineD, the UMP G2 actually has MORE dynamic range than the BMPCC6K and also than the newer BMCC6K. And that is also my personal impression. According to the CineD lab tests, the G2 even has more dynamic range out of camera than the UMP 12K.
