Forsyth is pronounced 4-Sigh-th. Savannah is one of my favorite places on earth. And although it may look Old South it is actually the second most liberal area in the state of Georgia behind Atlanta. It has a vibrant live and let live attitude full of quirky and interesting people. It's also one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to.
@@jimmonade outside of the students and some of the professors Athens isn't really that liberal. Most of the "townies" as UGA students call them are pretty conservative. You could make the argument for Augusta vs Savannah I suppose but I'd still say Savannah has a more vibrant LGBT community and cosmopolitan make up. t
Your videos are almost cinematic - the storytelling, framing, color grading, and transitions are extremely well done. You deserve many more subs. Thanks for producing and sharing such high quality travel content!
Welcome to my state yall! This video was a perfect representation of Savannah. I can't wait to see your video from my side of the state in Atlanta! Thanks for coming to Georgia and sharing your travels with us. Beautiful video, as always.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed visiting my beautiful hometown. I suggest also visiting the historic Davenport House. It was the first house to be saved from the wrecking ball when the preservation movement started in 1955.
Loved thhis one. It's a bit long, but I watched it all. It tells me a lot of what I can do with my own videos. I have thought about Savannah many times. Great job!
I'm really thinking about moving from Salt Lake City to Savannah, I love the charming look and I NEED HUMIDITY!! Like TN and Florida. Are the people friendly here?
@@TouristtoLocal Tempting! I'm def going to plan a visit there I believe around May for a couple nights, to see the night life, food, and living situation, see if it would be ideal, thanks for the video!!
Nice tour of Savanah! LOVE the historic homes and charm of the city. It's on our radar for retirement. Okay... I will be the first to post the answer to your question since I am a HUGE chocoholic fan and that line is from the the movie "Forest Gump". "Life is like a box of chocolate. Never know which one ya gonna get"! Love that line. 😁
Hi!! I remembering watching this video right before I released my latest song, Savannah-Hannah. I wanted to make sure I really captured Savannah... and I really hope I did! -Also, I watched your Spanish Savannah video and really enjoyed that too! Helps me practice my Spanish! :)
Great video. You missed out on one of best dining experiences at Mrs Wilkes House on Jones street. The restaurant is world renowned even though she has never advertised! Presidents have eaten there! Only open on weekdays. By the way Iove your videos along the Pacific Coast Hwy!
Please explain to him the difference in pronunciation between "this" and "these". They sound the same when he says it, which is common amongst ESL speakers (especially first language Spanish speakers). This is a feature of English that is difficult, but can be mastered, and will make him more comprehensible. Very good video!
Savannah looks really pretty, those trees and Spanish moss! So much interesting history there, some that we are not so proud of. Love the bangs, Juliana!
I'm so glad to hear that you had a fantastic time in Savannah! Your description of the summertime atmosphere and its relaxing vibes makes me even more excited to visit. Thanks for sharing your experience!
This place was definitely a hit, I went here in 21 Mrs Wilkes was bussin but you couldn’t go in and sit down yet I think because of the pandemic so we had to take it to go but you definitely hit the nail on the head definitely better with a car to see everything
@@TouristtoLocal I love you guys !! Keep doing what you are doing I just found you guys so i do a lot of watching v the old stuff but I love the content!!
Great video we were just there last weekend it’s a beautiful city and I was mesmerized by the trees as well. Definitely next time check out Collins quarters and my wife and I’s favorite coffee shop Gallery Espresso.
Savannah is my favorite small city in America! Spring in Savannah is magical, the history, the houses, the little gardens! Summer is a rough time to visit, the heat and humidity will kick you if your not use to it... but the rest of the year is great! A visit to Mrs. Wilkes is memorable and will be one of your highlights of your visit :) When your finished with your meal you'll carry your dirty dishes to the kitchen! Never made it to Paula's as the line was always wrapped around the block and there are so many great places to eat without the long wait. Loved the trolley ride through the city with excellent narration of what we were seeing. Start at the visitors center and go from there :) I'd LOVE to live there but anything less than a lottery win makes that impossible LOL! Have fun!
You found Mrs Wilkes House !!!!! You have captured the soul of our town. What great work guys!! Very thoughful handling of the darker history as well. Well done!!
PLEASE GET YOUR HISTORY CORRECT!!!! You could still drink during Prohibition. The 18th merely banned the sale, manufacturer, transport, or importation of intoxicating liquors. NOTHING about consumption!!!
Yup, people definitely still drank, it's just the sale was illegal! We discuss this further in the voiceover mentioned during the Speakeasy feature in this video.
We walked and Ubered and were just fine! Felt TOTALLY safe. Even when we went to Wormsloe, it was still possible to visit by Uber/foot. Have a nice time!
@@beautyjournal217Oh god no! I've lived here for 40 yrs and the crime is beyond horrible! We have at least 2 or 3 shootings a night and not to mention the muggings. The city had to put up signs downtown and on river street telling tourists to not walk past a certain point cause of the thugs robbing people has gotten worse. Its gotten so bad the past few years me and my family are getting out of here. Please dont walk anywhere in this city for your own safety🙏. Savannah is a crime infested zoo now its so so sad to see what its become now😢.
Thanks for your comment! However, the iconic bench scene from Forrest Gump was actually filmed in Chippewa Square, Savannah, Georgia, not in Orange County, California. It's a common misconception :)
