If the nomenclature was not GHOTOVI/NIULAND then by all means the road would've AT LEAST been in a better condition if not newly constructed. I'm not even exaggerating at this point.

Even though I am from Dimapur, and as someone who travels extensively to different parts of Nagaland I am in a way happy that the travellers are feeling the plight of people living beyond Kohima and Dimapur. This is just a glimpse of what other Nagas feel in order to reach their destination in fact, comparatively the road is pliable, there are places in Nagaland where the road is just by name. When will the conscience of the Naga Leaders wake up? Nagaland is not just about Kohima and Dimapur. Sick people, pregnant women, children and infants travel on a road worse than this everyday for education, healthcare, for daily survival and so many other things. We need a govt who is sensitive to people's need and responsibile citizens who will demand the basic necessities like road, water and electricity instead of cash, booze and kinds during election. The government no doubt is faulty and corrupted, but at the end of the day it also holds true that the "People Get the Govt they deserve" it is time for reflection for both the corrupted leaders and politicians and the general public

So which village asked for land compensation, even Rio spoke about it during the interview while inspecting the bakala bahar road condition. Public are in dilemma, the two/ three villages were asking land compensation and if not paid, they even threatened to burning the machineries of the contractor. Or is it that TR is lying to the public. The journalist should dig deeper in that regard.

At a political/ economic level, if the nuiland zhadima is plyable, people from tsemenyu, wokha, mokokchung, tuesang etc will no longer need to cross kohima anymore. Right now, kohima is very strategic and powerful because every naga from every tribe will have cross kohima.

The road is fully black topped in almost every nook & corner of Chumu & Kohima. Why there is heavy development only in two districts? This shows that tribalism is prevalent in the system. The wrath of mother nature has made the people to take a different route. Will the Government turn a deaf ear even during this crucial times? There was a time when the people in the Government could fool the public but times have changed & the Government should work for the betterment of the people & take the right decision for all the people of Nagaland rather than doing favourism Or tribalism.

All concerned public should demand explanation of what happened to the Hozukhe(niuland bridge) to khma new capital road as well as to question the neglected Ghotovi-Zadema-khma/botsa road. Actually these concerned villagers really don't need these road. They hardly go to khma, botsa wokha or mokockchung but it is those people that are from far flung regions of the state and the people needing to go to offices in the capital that really need these alternative routes during summers. Why is the Rio govt. desperately harassing the NHIDCL to open the NH29.. Even upto filing an FIR? The reason is, if the NH29 remains blocked the public attention will be drawn to the construction of the new capital road Niuland(Hozukhe bridge-Khma)that remains unfinished despite the hundreds of crores sanctioned by the centre.

The government has to focus on this road. By depending only on one route, nagas are unable to generate traffic congestion.

It's just 20 to 30 km stretch , the govt can easily repair this road . Why is the govt acting so broke . This road should be repaired asap so that people have 2 options to travel to Kohima.
