I'm happy for UTEP. This is truly the story of Rocky Mountain and West Coast Football going back for over 100 years. Their simply is no loyalty among the schools and that is sad. It would be nice if the MWC added New Mexico State and Idaho, but I don't expect that to happen.

Great move UTEP ! I know you guys have been wanting out of CUSA for years, same as those schools that went to AAC.

Growing up in El Paso and going to games when they were in the WAC is a thing of the past. Back then, the WAC commissioner had zero respect for UTEP, so when the league split, they didn't want UTEP in their newly formed MTW Conference. With new leadership now in the Mountain West Conference, all we can hope for is UTEP puts a better football program on the field week to week!?

UTEP made a wise move! Others are coming. The five who left the MW are going to come back when Wash St. and Oregon St. accept the invite to the big 12. How no one sees that plot twist coming is amazing to me.

UTEP is also the last CUSA member who joined prior to the 2013 realignment era to depart from the conference.

"UTEP is back where they belong" 🤣 If being the instant bottom of the bottom feeders is where you belong than I guess so. In football, UTEP is 55-109 against the remaining 7 MW programs and they have a losing record against every single one. In basketball they fair slightly better at 153-101 against the remaining MW programs that's roughly 0.600 or an average of 9-7 if they were playing a 16 game conference record against these schools. That would have been good enough for 6th in the MWC last year. Considering they've only had one 20 win season in the last 14 years and only finished 5th in the CUSA I would doubt they would have done that well in the MW. All to say, good for UTEP, but kinda a useless addition for the MWC
