This video documents the process of building the best fine gold highbanker I've ever made. Each machine took about 30 hours to create. I am genuinely proud of what Chris and myself were able to accomplish during this 12 day long build. We had spend the previous 7 day preparing templates and working out the details of the prototype leading up to this video.
The Utmost Adventurer will be available soon on my website: www.utmostoutd...
Dec 17 Update: I am just waiting on the miners moss to arrive in the mail before I list them as "in stock"

It seems like forever ago now since that camp job fiasco and you have skillfully moved on to greater things. Although I assume you may miss the paycheque somewhat. Anyway this rendition of the high banker is very well thought out and carefully crafted. It may be pricey but it’s well worth it. Having most of the parts attached, the screens and mesh easy to remove and replace and the leg adjustment not needing much force will give worry free operation for a long time. Losing parts, bolts and having breakdowns gets old and expensive fast. Maybe you could look into a silicone mat design for quick clean ups and less cons. I’m still waiting for the high banker drone combo to be released. :)

Wow, whatever you’re thinking of charging for these highbankers, it’s not enough. I should buy them off you and resell them for twice the price. And that Chris guy is a saint for helping you. Poor guy working his a$$ off, day and night. You even had him shoveling rocks in the closing scene like a bridge troll while you’re flying a drone and drinking beer.

Haha! Chris really was an absolute GEM of a human being for all the work he put in to helping me pull this off. There is no way I could have done it without him and the highbankers are really next level as a result of all his help!

Thanks for the kind words Tyler! Amazing to hear such a positive response from a talented fabricator like you! The legs work so well I was actually even a little surprised just how smooth they are after I bent up the first test piece! If you were looking to do something more heavy duty, I'll just say the 12 guage stainless feels super strong like it could easily handle a size larger leg. And if you ever want to try a set for some little mini project you're working on, shoot me and email and I'll hook you up!

Yeah! It's important how you approach the problem to make sure the end result is aligned with the outcome you really want. I decided to build this for my own PERSONAL mining experience, because I would have a much better chance of hitting a good result. Rather than trying to build a box for what I THINK everyone else might want and diluting the design I'm trying to achieve. Either way, it was a challenging but FUN build!

Good for a start Kyle . My guess is you have figured out the need for a moveable jig with multiple positions in one . Thus saving space . Getting off the floor to would help too Maybe a rolling bench for marking and cutting. That could be made easily with 5/8" plywood then the aluminum would not get too scratched . Waste no movements and minimize your work through proper KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method jigging. A lot of great things have started out in garages . Great Video

@UtmostOutdoors

Thanks! I was thinking of doing an under over comparison of matting like this, but the issue would be each mat might do better or worse with a slightly different flow rate of slope. So instead I am planning a properly thought out sort of scientific testing series here in Australia with everything nicely controlled and see how useful that is to people...

Looks really nice I'll put this one in my wish box lol. Looks like it should catch allot of flour gold, but kinda wish it had a nugget trap. Also in the future I think a side runoff sluice on the bottom would help aid in the slight loss of flour gold. Just a thought that's all
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 9 месяцев назад
The design of a sluice for both fine gold AND nuggets is a very interesting problem. My primary goal here was to focus on fine gold and keep things as compact as possible, but a more complex multi stage classification system would be an interesting project one day...

It can be frustrating at times, but it's a very cool skill to learn as a hobby. You can do so many cool things once you figure it out, and working with steel or brass of copper is actually pretty easy compared to aluminum as far as practicing.

So how does one look into acquiring one of these bad boys I wonder if it can be modified for my area of heavy black sands. Everyone thinks they have heavy black sands but I’m talking nothing but it.
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 9 месяцев назад
Hey, these will be available on my website very soon, I'm just waiting on the mats to arrive in the mail. I think in pure black sand areas you will just need to run the machine with a much slower feed rate. So you can run twice the material through this as a 10" wide highbanker, because it is 20" wide. I imagine a pure black sand area could use a MUCH wider sluice than even this for full speed shoveling, but nothing comes close to this in terms of how compact it is for a 20" wide sluice. All about that balance of packability and performance.

Why not put the mesh in the brake and bend to create the sides intead of welding aluminum bar?
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 9 месяцев назад
That's a good suggestion. I gave it a try, but this mesh is pretty light weight stuff and I really needed those heavy duty side bars to keep things nice and straight. I think using the brake down the sides of the mesh would likely work on steel expanded, but the aluminum wasn't strong enough on it's own. The side bars also give the tray retention pins something to screw into.
