The Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt. In this video we will explore one of the most incredible archaeological sites in the world. Here in Luxor you will find the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, which is where some of the most impressive Egyptian tombs have been discovered. Today we will visit three of the many tombs that can be found here in Luxor and of course visit one of the most famous known to man, the tomb of King Tutankhamun.

I visited Egypt in 2000 and am returning in Nov/24 with three of my children. I will be almost 70 so hope I will be up to climbing in those tombs again. Enjoyed your video.

I visited Egypt in December 2010, just ahead of the Arab spring. What an amazing country. Most memorable thing I did there was rode the camel in pyramids of Giza. someday I will pay another visit. 😊

Loved it. I was in Egypt in Jan 2024. Only found your channel since returning home. It’s been great to revisit familiar sites. Your fly on the wall vlogging style is a lot of fun. Best way to visit VoK is to stay in Luxor and hire a bicycle (v cheap) makes you much more independent and able to explore, about a mile from the tombs at the start of the valley is carters house, also quorna (where the families of tomb robbers live) the families of the people working for carter live there and there's a bar that has it's own story.If you talk to local people you get told about many hidden places off the beaten track in the area

Siptah was one of my favorites because it felt so much different, it was much less decorated and gave you a true feeling of going into the underworld. All of them are stunning, I am looking forward to going back at the end of this year to explore again

I am glad you enjoyed your visit to the Valley of the Kings. We paid for the transportation 400 Egyptian pounds round trip and the tickets for the valley of the kings is half price during the summer but you can imagine how hot it gets there. Inside the tombs is cooler than outside. Keep enjoying your trip in Egypt. Where is Gladys?

I appreciate your traveler’s perspective, not necessarily being guided but allowing serendipity to help you. I also appreciate your showing processes of getting to these sites and maybe what can happen if you aren’t more “bubbled” with a tour. There are pro’s and cons to either perspective. It’s fun tagging along with you. Enjoying your Egypt series. An inexpensive way to learn about King Tut and other rulers is to find the catalog from the traveling King Tut exhibit that toured the US in 1976! Visiting the exhibit was life changing and I continued on to Minor in History at college. Anyway, my souvenir as a kid was the exhibit catalog 😂 They are usually around $12 on eBay.

The pyramids predate the pharaohs by a couple of thousand years. To put it harshly, they were basically squatters. But they've done a great job of beautifying the places of burial. Chris, I love your videos, you're such an engaging guy!
